On the contrary, that discussion was more on-topic than 90% of the thread =P

The discussion was fine, and from the sounds of it, something that needed to happen, but posting about engaging in drug use is technically against the global rules.

I just wanted to tell you guys why I am against drugs so much... even at the cost of an infraction I feel like I should share.

When I was 14, I went on a vacation in China. My dad put me under the care of his boss' daughter, Kat, for the period of one day. Everything was fine until I was invited to go K and clubbing. Little did I know, she and her friends were all drug users. They threatened to not take me home among other things if I didn't smoke a cigarette and snort some kind of powder. (After watching Breaking Bad, I might have an idea) During K, we were in a small room where they all did weed. It was seriously blinding as I couldn't even open my eyes and they were also in tears. It was one of the worst days of my life and when I returned home, I had to hide my tears and went to bed crying.

Another time was rather recent where I was invited to a party and there were drugs and alcohol and I just felt really uncomfortable and unsafe. The way people act when high or when they get a huge confidence boost can be scary.

Lastly, for those that spoke with me when I first joined BC Brawl, you may know I struggled with depression for a time and took medication for it. Do you know how scary it was to actually not be able to function without a drug? I don't want that for anybody.

Drugs scare the heck out of me and I just don't want people to go through what I did. I definitely apologize to Daze and Yakal if you guys took offense but please try to see things from my side too.

Alcohol is fine with me in small dosages but definitely keep that stuff away from the venue.

You know what else smells absolutely terrible?

30 sweaty nerds.

But final thought/not condoning or condemning drug use: there is no way to associate people's behaviours with an inanimate object, it may seem like an easy symbol to blame, but people make decisions and will come up with whatever excuse they want to justify them. This should not make drugs scary, it should make people who think drugs make it okay for them to act however they want scary. People who are reckless and inconsiderate often do reckless and inconsiderate things whether or not they are on drugs.

It really depends on the person and how hard the drug is and pot is not a hard drug.

A serial killer is still a serial killer with or without pot.

Marijuana isn't the only drug being mentioned at this point.

Perhaps it may be best to just move on to a totally different subject. Like how awesome Ivysaur is in P:M.

no joke intended, but my poignant delivery does provide a certain brand of miracle-whip zing.

but yeah, that's pretty much where i was going with that, the only thing weed destroys is the doritos stock at 7-11.

Hm? I wasn't aware that any other drugs were being discussed or if others even get used at stronghold.

There's no telling what certain substances can do to your body and your life.

When's the next tourney? I don't believe I've shown off my Peach yet except for when I first started using her seriously like in March and the Phoenix following.

Jake is definitely dropping Yoshi
I'm legitimately considering temporarily or permanently quitting smash. Every time I've tried to type an explain, it fails, and it has been over an hour since I've started, and I have stuff to do today, so I'll just leave it at that.

Is it the people? If not, it's still worth coming.

If it's the game/money, maybe take a break.

I really enjoy your company and you're a really good player (I eagerly await the day we have a serious match). I'll be really sad to see you quit :c

Ok story time. Might want to listen to this as you read.

Last night as I just got back from work

I was hungry and was happy to know my family saved me a plate of dinner.

They told me they had some pie in the outside fridge, so I went outside, brought it to the kitchen and cut myself a piece.

However when I went back outside, I had forgotten that I had closed the patio door.
Sadly, I wasn't done with melee from the night before.

What was soon to follow was a large crack. And I was very sad.

To make matters worse, the shock from the blast weakened me for a moment and well...

Moral of the story, that stuff is dangerous.

Nice to see you're working. What do you do?

Work seriously flips your idea of money upside down... Going an accounting and/or payroll route makes things even scarier!

Are the repairs coming out of your paycheque? Create a home business and make it a deductable :p

Traffic, are you still down to come on the PM/Melee tournament I'm hosting on the 27th? I am in need of a dedicated stream manager/ commentator :p
i booked it off, but there are a few things i need to sort out on my end before i can commit either way, we found a few people smash players out here in the valley so i will try and figure out whats going on as soon as i can.

ps; i still dont know anything about anything so i'll probably just get really really hungry and rely on charm and zingers to get me through.

Well since I live in an apartment it's covered by the property manager so it's not too big a deal.

I tally stats/score keep during the weekends.

During the week I have a night time job as a grocery clerk. I was hired because i'm tall, seriously. I scare away the scary guys who steal and I can reach the top shelf, which is actually a huge benefit for once.

With money I can hopefully go to another national, and make up for my last performance.

Edit: T-block, are you suggesting the quality of my posts are bad? 2500 is pretty bad considering I've been here longer than almost all of you.
