Actually, the smash club uses the lights in the room as sensor bars. And when I play the wii in my room, I sometimes just point my wii-mote at the window.

The only time I ever do use a sensor bar is if I am either playing a game that requires it (or mainly requires pointing the wii-mote at the screen, like Twilight Princess), or if I am starting up the wii and the sun has already set.
