Jiggs in Melee was good at recovering and gimping. Now just about every character (except for a crappy few like Link) can recover with no problem. Everything she's supposed to be good at isn't unique to her in Brawl, so shes only left with bad traits. In Melee she was a Glass Cannon, in Brawl she's just glass.

Another thing that really hurts her is that people can air dodge multiple times.

Im pretty down right now.
Why?
Because i just wasted my time checking every. single. thread that was posted on this board since brawl's release.
It's so sad seeing how much everyone thought Jiggs was such a great character, then seeing such a great downfall when that tier list showed up.
Then i see some "jennifur-whateverthe****thisguywas" saying he was the best Jiggs ever.
I hope y'all keep your pride as Jigglypuff mains.
Cuz im sure as hell keeping it.

In the beginning there were many speculations I had about Jigglypuff that I thought made her good.

-I thought footstool jumping = spiking, and that Jigglypuff had a spike
-Minor buffs like Rollout and Fair
-Didn't think that rest was going to be so ****ty in this game compared to Melee, which Jiggs was still Bottom of High Tier at the time.
-Didn't realize that the metagame was going to revolve around aerial characters like Metaknight instead of spacies like in the first.

Jiggs lost two very valuable things from the transition. She lost the ability to gimp and the ability to kill people with rest. So now she's just a light weight who can't kill, which is very bad. She's mobile and I feel comfortable playing as her, but the stats show and when you have to put so much more work into killing the other character, you realize that the character is just bad.

If I were to give stats for Jigglypuff, they'd be like this
Weight: *
Speed: ***
Power: **
Priority/Range: *
Recovery: *****

Whereas compared to Metakinght
Weight: **
Speed: *****
Power: ***
Pirority/Range: ****
Recovery: **********

And also to think that so many people were actually thankful that her rest was nerfed...

You just have to kinda regret this kind of thinking.

Rest in Melee could be considered the single best move in the game for these reasons
- It could be combo'd into from Uptilt, Upair, Pound, and probably alot more moves
- It' killed at very low %s, sometimes even at 0%

Brawl Rest does neither of these things, you can't combo into it and you can't kill with it until like 70%.

If Melee Jiggs didn't have Rest, I bet she'd be Mid tier at best. And speaking of not being able to combo rest in Brawl, thats another thing, we thought Drill to rest was guaranteed, then people started learning how to SDI and it hardly ever works now.

That's only because if you miss the shine it doesn't matter. You can just make your next move or back away without getting hurt.

You fail your rest, you fail in general. End of the match.
