Hey, I'm a Jigglypuff main, and I just came across the 'How to Play Jigglypuff' video on YouTube. It was good, but the main problem I have is with the emphasis on such ATs like Jiggs' Jab Lock and DACUS when in reality these ATs are almost completely worthless in competitive play. Honestly, the only ATs that a Jiggs main should use are Drill Rest/Grab, Rising/Falling Pound (if even considered AT), and proper execution of WoP in Brawl (it exists).

just because you don't use them doesn't make them worthless

jab lock is quite a bit of free percent with a guaranteed followup (generally less percent if the person knows how to SDI it though, also depends on where on the stage you start it). although you might only get a chance to use it once every 50 matches, it makes that one match that much easier.

dacus isn't that great but nobody ever sees it coming

as for wall of pain... you can usually airdodge through it so it requires better spacing/timing and harder reading to do anything with it, and even then it won't gimp most high/top tiers because they have ridiculous recoveries.

also what grim said, they were probably a lot nicer-looking options in the earlier metagame

well jab lock is pretty worthless unless you play against bad people

I've never found DACUS useful, but I'm a very conservative player when it comes to risk/reward, so...

When I make my video guide I'm going to dedicate a section to her strings; not listing different moves for different DI/%/weights or anything dumb like that, but just trying to give new Puff players an idea of how that aspect of her gameplay works - she can't "WoP", but yeah

Jab Locks are pretty useful. Like, if you have rising platforms and you force a hit and they fall off, there's a tiny change they fall on the ground or don't tech it. I actually did that on Near, as well as a couple players. Granted, you shouldn't always rely on it, but it can help.

FH Nair can knock people off the BF platforms into a jab-lock situation (and only a few characters are able to tech it or act before hitting the ground), similarly to how Icies can do it with SH Nair. I think they need to be a lot closer to the edge though.

WoP does exist in Brawl. The difference is in Melee you would juggle them to an eventual kill, but in Brawl you must solely rely on pressuring them off the ledge.

Also, another gripe I had was about the coverage of staling fair. Any Jiggs knows that staling your most reliable kill move can lose you the match, but he should have went into more detail about when you should stop using fair. I use fair up until my opponent reaches 50%, and don't start again until around 110%. Oh yeah, and some emphasis should have been put on how important it is to space with Jiggly and Pound's usefulness. I understand this was early in the metagame, but in the new one we should include these things. Also, the video said Jiggly should be higher on the tier list. Jiggly is horrible. The only reason I use her is because I'm a character loyalist, and she's fun.

Also, make sure that ALL of Jiggly's kill moves are listed. Fsmash, ultit, ftilt, bair, nair, etc. If Rollout is listed, so should they.

Jab locks are easy to link out of Fair/bair and nair.
Plus, if you know them off a platform, use a stale nair to start the lock.

Like i did on M@v

weak nair would reset, but it'd probably be safer and easier to just FF, land and do jab after whatever knocked them off the platform so you don't have to worry about extra landing lag from a missed autocancel

Well sure if they don't tech... I don't know anyone who wouldn't tech that 99% of the time haha

But the platform stuff is somewhat legit I guess

Also ftilt is a really good move it's like... you know how you can use up tilt/pivot up tilt when it's really close quarter combat and you bait them jumping at you?

Ftilt handles that as well, but with less risk (and less reward) if you read wrong.
Very useful, but yeah, doesn't KO.

Most characters can't tech it.

And the jab lock is situational out of fair or sweet spot nair, but it still happens, and it gets a free kill.

Puff definitely did get some small buffs, its just the hitstun loss ***** her.

Actually, she was buffed pretty nicely.

But, like Z'z said, it's not enough to make her good, because of the change in hitstun and physics of brawl. If brawl puff lived in melee, she'd be better than fox.

Jiggs was waaaay faster in melee, that's for sure.
Brawl Jiggs would NEVER keep up with melee's speed.

True.

You can jump after rollout finishes off stage.
Rest is almost always a star KO(unless its like a stage spike rest but that's suicide anyway.)
She has more kill moves.

If she lived in melee(with melee speed/physics, of course) she'd be really good. The problem is that brawl doesn't have combos and stuff so she's bad now :(
