Ike vs Marth

Ike, no doubt about it. While I like Marth, Ike would fit the spot so much better. And like others have said, Fire Emblem needs more recent representation. I'd also like to suggest...Lyn? Simply because the SSB series had an insane lack of females that aren't princesses.

Ike looks pretty awesome, and seeing as how his titles are International, not Japanese-Only, Ike would be a better character to use this time around in Smash Bros.

I like Marth better because even though hes in japan-only games hes the ORIGINAL fire emblem lord who has STARRED in 2 games where as Ike isn't the star in GOD. Now i'm not saying he shouldn't be in, by all means he SHOULD be in but replacing Roy and fighting along side Marth

Marth is the original- Ike is worldwide.
Ike is the star of GoD, FYI. He just shares the spotlight with Micaiah.

Marth looks girly? I want to know what people knows for girly. Marth kick ***. He has his own kingdom. A mamkute princess wants to suck his **** for good. Just people isn't fond of these manga and anime designs and stereotypes. Manliness, as cool as it can be, isn't a strong enough reason to drop Marth. He is coldblooded, elegant, swift, efficient. This game is being made in Japan so I find they add characters with different flavors, plus being the first lord and the first main character of the whole SRPG genre. I dislike the male anime characters that really look like women in general. If they are a warrior I have no problem with that, it actually helps them in my eyes... They are typically more agile and have better fighting tactics that just brute strength alone.

...I wes about to say, I don't know anything about either. They look pretty much the same to me, except Ike looks all OMG HARDKORE MASCULINE because he's decked out in battle gear.

I always thought Marth looked like two things: An anime character from the 90's...which he was. Look at Slayers, for the love of pete. And a prince. And, dood...
When it comes to video games, I'm so freaking sick of stereotypes that I'd much prefer a 90's anime warrior prince to another COOL LOOKIN WAR MANZ LOL.

No, we're discussing normally about why being girly have to affect things like courage, fighting style and strategy, and Marth was the leader of the rebel army. Marth always was a weak and dependant character, but at the end he was THE legendary hero who could wield the only weapon that could beat Medeus. Then he became ruler of Altea, helped to rebuild the empire, and when he heard what Hardain was ruining the work of 5 years, he didn't hesitate to fight again.

The main argument seems to be that extreme elegance = girly. But not all warriors have to be axe wielder brute guys with muscles, beard and a scar in the left eye made by *insert final boss* when he was young. Marth kick *** with elegance, that makes him pimp. That isn't girly.

You don't have to flee, I'm not going to eat anybody and I even voted Ike because his style can add a lot is a lord that many people is fond about, but at the same time I've never got explanation to things like "Marth has a tiara that's so gay". It's simple minded. Why people never say things about tomboysh girls but yes about "girly" boys?

Why should we even have to chose between Ike and Marth? Ike is the most important character in the series and guess who's second. MARTH. Even if there were only 2 slots (I still think that FE deserves 3) Marth should still get in because there's no one else that deserves the spot MORE. There are plenty of good FE reps, but Ike and Marth are the MOST IMPORTANT ones.

I wasn't supporting him for Brawl, ClarkJables mentioned Soren as a female candidate and I corrected him. He's also a high tier unit (though not top tier as you pointed out before) and is a great character in PoR. Most of the posts on the previous pages have been argueing about effeminate characters not being good warriors, so I used him as an example of an effeminate character that is high tier in his game.
