Ike is different from Marth, so why replace a unique character with another unique character?

There's more than enough room for both.

I can't see why everyone just wants 1 Fire Emblem character in the game. Why not have more?

He'll comeback..There's no reason to take him out...and the only comparison you can make to Marth/Ike is the hair...

That would be pretty tragic, since the series is filled with awesome characters that would be perfect in Brawl, but I'd be lying if I were to say that it wasn't a possibilty.

God, people, shut the **** up about Ike's coolness for once. For the love of God, think of their playing styles. There is no non-awkward way that Ike would be an effective clone of Marth. He's way too bulky and his sword is way to big. The thing about Marth is that he's quick and effective. Ike looks like he would be Captain Falcon-esque, and a really fast faller.

Ikes actually fast tho... But you do got a point Ike is my favorite and all he looks cool..... but dont lay marth out just yet. Dont forget that symbol is the falcion even go play melee pause it zoom in and the picture is looks exactly the same as marths sword. Sakurai atleast need 2 characters for each popular franchaise. Dont even say DK should have more then him because 1.I dont think that Dk is actually getting any popular anymore which is sad and 2. Hes games thats been comming out been uh average fun factor so yeah.... Hope i said something intelligent

2) His sword is the Fire Emblem logo,
3) He and Ike are as different in origins and styles as they would be in fighting, and Ike would make a great addition for those who would prefer a powerful, heavy character as opposed to Marth. To not have the option of speed or strength, grace or fierce, would be silly. Variety is what Smash Bros. emphasizes most.
4) Marth was the one who started it all. If it weren't for his game we wouldn't have had Ike.
5)To add to that, if it weren't for Marth, Fire Emblem could have still been just a Japan-only series. It was he(and Roy) who got international eyes looking.

What's the point in using a character if you can't play their game? Its like you're cheating yourself out of an experience. Its fun using a character in Smash whos game I have played before. What's the point in using a character if you can't play their game? Its like you're cheating yourself out of an experience. Its fun using a character in Smash whos game I have played before.
