I Need some advice for High School

Bro. I just got through freshmen year. Here's some advise (and yes, some things sound cliche, but what I'm about to say is completely true). And yes, I loved my freshmen year.

Don't advertise your love of video games. Brawl doesn't make you cool.

Make a lot of different friends. Make friends with the ghetto, the nerds, the jocks, the potheads, the average. There are some people in those groups who are definitely fun and cool to be with.
This too but don't force it. If you don't like a group(lolhatewhy?) just avoid them. I know a lot of people in the school from this and it helps.
Here's my downfall. I was a fat kid. I went through freshmen year 5'11 and 200 pounds. That steered some people away from me initially. But here's what brought them back: Swag, and a fun personality. Be the one that's always having fun.
5'11? Big freshmen is big but that's pretty ****. My school . . . *remembers I go to an all-guy school* . . . nevermind.
As for girls, I'm picky as hell. I won't have a girlfriend unless they meet all of my criteria(not ugly, can't party too much, can't drink, can't smoke, can't be a hoe), but that's not always a good thing. If you're looking, don't be too picky.

No reason to be picky. Experience everything. Being picky in HS is stupid. Your not going to be with them longer than three years (at most), trust me with that one. If you are picky and you do get this girl, she's gonna want to explore what she hasn't and the relationship will fail.
WHATEVER people say, weed IS a fun, leisure activity only to be done with friends. It's a thrill. Oh man, it's a thrill. Imagine having an unlimited access to Brawl, whenever you want, with enough skill to beat M2K. It's something everybody should try. But don't abuse it.

I'm not a party guy, but if you turn out to be one, LEARN HOW TO DANCE. It'll do wonders for you. I don't know how to, and I see my ugly friends picking up girls with their moves. I'm just like -__-. Why?
Replace dance with grind and your good to go.
And one more thing. When you get to the final stage of boyhood, wear a rubber. And no matter what they say, size does matter. The smaller, the beter you need to make it.

Bolded responses and own tips. My Freshmen and Sophomore year were awesome. (I'm going to be a Junior starting the 27th) Since I go to an all guy school, it's a little different but IMO it makes up for the lack of women. I still talk to girls and everything you'd do in school but they don't get in the way of my work. 7th - 8th grade this happened and I was lucky to get into the great school I got into. From here I'll probably be going to college on a full ride if I'm lucky. (and work my *** off these next two years) If not, I'm a fiyaa man.

oh! do your thing. if there isn't a videogameclub and you want one, make one. or even a smash club if theres enough interest. i bring my wii every friday for video game club and am the leader. i uphold our community of ~15 people. people don't bag on the kids because i'm rapeee but one kid who FLAUNTS being a poke master is the clown of the school. don't do that. bragging about beating a gym leader on an unknown forum in POKEMON when your a junior in HS isn't going to make you look good.

The only reason I'm here now is because of the VGC. End of Freshmen year I found out about it and sucked. Sophomore year ended up being the best in Melee and lolbarwl. Do you.

My highschool was an academic highschool so I don't know how much my experience will help you, but I'll say something anyways.

I think I did pretty good socially, in fact, it was perfect for me. I am not a huge people person, but I also hate feeling like an outcast. I was a bit of a loner yet I had friends in every click in my grade, and the main click I hanged out with was the more popular click. Basically for three years I wandered around and picked who I wanted to hang out with. I was never wanted, but I was never unwanted, it was nice. There was absolutely no pressure to do anything with anyone lol. I managed to go to a few parties, but I am not a huge party person, so usually I made it pretty clear that I didn't want in on parties, so I generally wasn't invited, not because they didn't like me but because I made them think I didn't want to.

I didn't really study at all throughout school, yet I still got honors and my grades maintained consistent. You gotta know when to study though, there is a time to do it, believe me. I raised all my marks 3%+ in the last 2 months this year, and this was my graduating year, which is exactly what I needed lol.

Basically, you can get away with being a loner in school as long as you have a few friends from every group. Study when you need to, but it's usually not necessary, unless you're dumb and don't pay attention in class. Good luck.

It's his body, man. Drinking isn't that dangerous as long as you don't go overboard and you don't drive - if you ever find yourself drinking to get drunk, stop. If you're still drinking for the taste, that's okay! But just remember that if you're driving, do not drink at all.

I've never done weed, but all the bad stuff about it is all hype. It's only bad in the minds of a lot of people because it's illegal - nothing more.

He is 14 though. He probably should wait at least a bit before he tries this kind of thing.

It's true marijuana is nowhere near the death drug it's made out to be.

But there does appear to be a strong association between marijuana use and development of schizophrenia in those with a genetic predisposition already. Since you cannot see your genes and a decent proportion of the population hold this predisposition, it is at least one risk to consider.

Most people that smoke weed in my area start at around middle school age. For drinking it's about 14/15. I dunno, I guess it's just a regional thing. I live in a pretty unique place culturally, so maybe people just start with those kinds of things here younger than usual.

We should hang out. Theres the academic rout in high school and the fun route, I'd suggest finding a good balance, or having it lean towards academics, but all work and no play makes you a dull boy.

might want to stop with the personal attacks bud, it's okay to disagree but do it with some class man. We all have opinions. He can and probably will do whatever he wants.

As for sluts, which is an extremely derogative term btw, girls just want to have fun, so do us guys. Second it's not all about game in getting a girlfriend, you know you gotta actually enjoy the girls company, you can't just pick one off the street and swoon the lass. This is where girsl that like to play come in, and as I said before, just be careful.

EDIT @ Skyler, that's around the age everything started happening to me and my friends too dude, and a bunch of my friends, seems pretty universal, 14/15 for drinking, as for weed, well I'ma just say the age you get introduced to it is highly dependant on your friends.

Personally, my Golden rule is, if you question your self on something, don't do it. Chances are, that it may end up bad for you in the end.

Don't attempt to get a girlfriend during highschool, because it could **** your study life up, and could end up ugly if the relationship ends. If you and a girl wants to pursue a relationship, do it after you graduated. Of course, don't ignore her or anything, but if you want to get a girlfriend during highschool, it's up to you.

Like others said, weed isn't the death drug it isn't made out to be, but from what my friends told me, I wouldn't personally invest in B.C Bud(I'm from Canada, eh?), but they smoke hard, and from their complaints on how pricey it gets up here, it isn't a good investment either.

Too be honest, your highschool experience will depend on how big the class is. I went to a Highschool of 500 students, so my grade had about 100 kids. And most of us were close, as around 25 of us went to the same elementary school ( Canada has no Middle school).

Just remember, don't take High school too seriously, but stuff from there will follow your life forever.

Peer pressure is half the reason I started "drinking". New Years is the only time of the year I ever drink because I just don't find it cool or anything. It isn't fun, I guess when your wasted sure but I haven't gotten to that point yet.

Smoking on the other hand was lols. My cousins from NY are the worst. **** Puerto Ricans and trying to be cool. I'm seen as one of the smarter people in my family (family as in 10000 cousins / uncles / aunts / abuelos abuelas nephews etc . . .) so they're like "lolantdoesn't smoke good for you" and one time "lolantwhydontyousmoke?" so I just troll them. I've smoked but I'm not ******** enough to go around telling everyone in the family that I've smoked weed. I only smoke now like . . . once every five+ months. Rare occasions.

I wouldn't tell someone not to smoke because . . . honestly, I don't care. They don't cause nearly enough damage to your body for me to advise you not to smoke. Drinking is different. Don't drink and go out in public. Drink if you KNOW your not leaving that house / party until you sober up. Don't drive to places you know your gonna get drunk at. Drunk. Drunk. Drunk. Even if you have two drinks, don't drive. (lol14yearsold)

Oh and don't get caught smoking weed. "The people on the computer told me I could!" It's illegal in America so . . . move to the UK or something.
