How should I mark my controller for tournaments?

I don't. Nobody else I've ever met has a orange clearback. Most of them know it's mine. If I did I would put it over the logo.

I suggest putting your tag and your real name. Just in case you lose it someone can point out by tag name.
I have a custom spray painted controller which is pink and yellow and not many people have that. So if you want you could just spray paint yours, too!

I'm the only one I've seen that has a White/Silver controller so far, also I have a giant L drawn on the back.

i see a lot of people at tourneys with little stickers usually of there main on there cotroller. those are pretty kool and a good way to identify your controller.

I get a knife and engrave "OS" on the right side of the controller. Most people generally observe by standing on the left of a player in an open environment, so this means if someone takes my controller I can see it easier.

To make it easier on myself, I've changed my markings in two ways:

1) I engrave a tally for every tournament I win in the back of the controller I was using

2) I put the japanese katakana for 'heaven' on the plug for my controller with a sharpie

So now I can see it by looking at the controller ports in a wii.

Other people use:

-stickers

-colored tape on the cord of the controller

-tri-wing screwdrivers to take apart the controller so they have two color shells

-ribbon/string tied to the end of the cord

I was just about to say the same thing when I got to this thread. xD But for seriously those stickers or write your name in permanent marker (Smash Alias or Real Name whatever suits you better).

I don't have this problem though because I custom made my controller with a Purple top and a black bottom. Also took out the rumble pack so it makes my controller SOOO much lighter so even if it does get misplaced it's easy to point out.

you can get creative and put stickers or markings on your controller to differentiate yours from everyone else. Crismas has really popular stickers, and my friend aish has made some really cute stickers herself as well. Try to get your hands on them. ^^

or yeah, you can be boring and put your name on it. I'd suggest getting a well-sized tape, and taping it somewhere along the controller cord like a flag, and putting your name on it that way. The only person I remember who did that was MagnuM, but I always thought it was a good idea.

I really wish I had the time during tournies to do custom sticker drawings for everyone on their controller. Everything is so hyped during tournies and I can't sit still for more than 30 minutes to sell them lol. :(:(:(

But yeah, usually I decorate mine with stickers then write my name with a thin pen/marker on the white space for identification.

Not very creative but just get some tape you can write your name on, stick it on the bottom of your controller and on the pluggy end. Smash away!
