I want to know people's opinions on how they think the world will end. It has to end sometime, if that is the case, then when and how?

Let the Theory's Begin!

But seriously.

How will the world as a planet end? In a few dozen million years the sun will explode (not exactly, but I only know so much about astrophysics lol). There may be some other things that could end it sooner, but this is the most certain answer.

How will human life on Earth end? I doubt it will. I may be naive in thinking this, but nobody really wants the world to end and so it's unlikely that it'll happen.

hokay, so barring ice capes melting, the ozone layer leaving, and meteors becoming crashed into us, we are definitely going to blow ourselves up.

Yeah, I believe that humans are gonna end up killing each other. Either nuclear war, or numerous natural disasters, because since global warming started these things have been happening more and with more intensity. The earth as a whole, the sun exploding

That is what I believe as well. It is human nature to destroy ourselves, whether it be mentally, physically, or emotionally.

Take Cigarettes, drugs, and alcohol for example, all of which are man made/grown.

Whether we kill ourselves slowly through self destruction or speed up the process with War, Humans are destined to end themselves.

Cigarettes and alcohol ARE drugs.

Living will always cause death. =]. I like to have fun with it.

Just don't hurt others, I wish people would understand. I beat the end of the world will be a result of naive people killing other naive people

Yes I know they are considered drugs in mainstream society.

Oh, and please don't get me wrong.. I smoke Ciggs, Drink, and have done drugs in the past.. I don't want to live to be 100 anyway, but I was just stating my belief.

Party on.

Earth will probably only end when the sun expands and destroys it.

Humans will probably not life that long enough, though life probably will

The Sun will not explode into a supernova. A star must be MUCH bigger than the Sun (I think it has to be like 3-4x the mass) for it to go supernova.

Instead the Sun will turn into a red giant due to consuming all its hydrogen. The red giant Sun will engulf Mercury and Venus, and it will probably swallow up Earth as well. There is some possibility that the Earth *might* be able to escape the Sun's wrath because as the Sun expands, it loses mass, which means its gravitational field weakens. The Earth will have a longer revolution than normal, but it still probably wouldn't be enough for it to be totally enveloped.

Before this even happens though, life on Earth will have been extinguished long before this occurs. The Sun continues to get brighter and brighter (although it will take a VERY, VERY long time). After ~1 billion years, the Sun will become big and hot enough to boil away all the oceans.

I think scientists estimate the life cycle of the Sun to be about 10 billion years. Right now it is smack dab in the middle of its life, 5 billion years old. So yeah, if we don't kill each other off, the Sun will. I always knew it was evil...

really do i need to say anything else?
lol... Yes. Which also falls into my theory of how humans will kill themselves.

EXAMPLE:

"Stop using Metaknight!!! *gunshot*."

The end of that persons world, as he knows it. lol

Not with a bang but with a whimper.
Quite frankly I think that that theory is trite.

In its best sense of the word.

As in, "Trite and True".

We are referencing Frasier, right?

However it happens, I think Comfy in Nautica by Panda Bear should be the anthem to it.

I'm going to go with Eor. As for humanity itself I don't care so long as its soon, we are by far the most loathsome species on the planet and I hope we're gone soon. Bring on the human instrumentality project.

I have a related question that someone could probably answer. Why is humanity so fascinated with the "end of the world"?

Seriously, since the beginning of civilizations, people have had ******** end of the world theories.

Because we already assumed what happens in the beginning, now we can only imagine what is to end?

This seems right.

Maybe-

It is popularly suggested that cockroaches will "inherit the earth" if humanity destroys itself in a nuclear war. Cockroaches do indeed have a much higher radiation resistance than vertebrates, with the lethal dose perhaps 6 to 15 times that for humans. However, they are not exceptionally radiation-resistant compared to other insects, such as the fruit fly.[18]

The cockroach's ability to withstand radiation better than human beings can be explained in terms of the cell cycle. Cells are most vulnerable to the effects of radiation when they are dividing. A cockroach's cells divide only once each time it molts, which is weekly at most in a juvenile roach. Since not all cockroaches would be molting at the same time, many would be unaffected by an acute burst of radiation, but lingering radioactive fallout would still be harmful.[19]
Cockroaches will become insanely smart and make us use our nukes against each other. The end result is the roaches ruling the world.

That or we already use the nukes before the roaches are able to become smart thus destroying ourselves anyway. The end result is the same though.

Depends

Are you assuming humans destroy the Earth or natural phenomenon?

Phenonmenon: The Earth's core will freeze and without a heating core, no atmosphere. Meaning, no water, no water, no life. And it'll happen in 2 billion years. Much sooner than the sun going out.

The only way humans can destroy the Earth is through nuclear war. Any other doomsday caused by human error will probably get rid of humans allowing the Earth to hopefully heal. Don't quote on me on it though. lol
