I don't know anything about Houston's travel plans but I do have two suggestions:

Get to Dallas, because they are going, and do have their travel plans posted in the group.

OR

Go to San Japan. I know the Valley players loves anime conventions, there will be Brawl singles (friday) and Brawl teams (saturday) and it's a hell of a lot closer than OK.
