Would you be willing to put yourself on the line for JTB's scum flip?

Lynching Auspher (besides the fact that he's more scummy to me than JTB) would give us connections due to his interactions with JTB and other players. It would also remove someone who has both given up and shown that they are unwilling or unable to help contribute to scumhunting. I don't know how much Auspher would help us in late game, whereas JTB (if town) could do just that.

Why did you like Tery to begin with?

Bonus Question Answer: I realize you've put yourself in the spotlight: congratulations. Where did I say I thought you were scum?
Lynching Auspher tells me two people jumped on with little to no content as to why they switched, very fast switches I might add where I learn nothing of the players intent. The other two, JTB and Gustave both whom are my scum picks are still alive if he flips scum.

Your assuming JTB is town, your not even thinking of the other possibility of him being scum which relates back to the experience comment you made.

Experience is 100% irrelevant unless the person is proven to be a true detriment to town, I do not see that with Auspher if he is town.

Why should we give a damn how good JTB can be as town if people think he is scum. Your entire case against the lynch is that you think his responses were fair and that he has more experience.

Tell me in his post against T-blocks case why this is?

I would look at Tery, since he hasn't really given anything yet. Like, not a single piece of useable info. I would clear T-Block as Town.
Not sure if someone already asked this, but why would T-Block be cleared if I flipped town?

And before T-Block calls me out on it, I'm not ignoring current content, I'm reading player slots.

I am thinking of the possibility of him being scum. I just don't like how much T-Block seems to think this is the case. His case was good, but I wouldn't be this confident.

I think T-Block is town, though.

I'll re-read again and see if I find any connections between JTB and others.

Yeah, I actually would.

Lynching Auspher doesn't tell us ANYTHING about JTB. There's no way Auspher's lynch gives us more information than JTB's - not even close. RR and I are basically the only ones opposing his lynch... others have just hopped on pretty easily. The response to the JTB case has been much more varied.

Why did you like Tery to begin with?
To put it succinctly, his catchups show independent thought.

Bonus Question Answer: I realize you've put yourself in the spotlight: congratulations. Where did I say I thought you were scum?
You never did. But I'm not a town read, am I?

In fact, you are a town read. I like your answers, I liked your case, and I like how you reacted to pressure.

You're right about Auspher's lynch providing less connections than JTB's by the way.

You're willing to put yourself on the line? Cool. Dat confidence.

I can understand this sentiment. Even I'm a little surprised at my confidence in this read. It's tough to explain. I've pegged scum D1 for inconsistent behaviour like this before though (Ducktales mafia).

If you think the case is good, then you think the fact that he put himself in the spotlight is so strong that it counters all of it?

Well there goes that then.

In any case, I was trying to show that a player putting himself in the spotlight is not really a town tell. Stuff like this is easily faked, especially by experienced players.
You're correct about this, and I know.

I don't find being in the spotlight telling of anything. It's the content within this spotlight that matters. I like yours, and JTB's answers were sufficient.

Question: Is this consistent with JTB scum? I'm assuming you've played with scum JTB before. If so, is he always really good at responding to pressure and looking townie in the process?

Not at all. Did he even put himself in the spotlight?

I'm still trying to read back at things he said, and I'm not liking his gambit. I agree with what you said about how it looks faked. I mean, why would you say your reasoning for the gambit was to get a read on a newer player if you almost ignored them during the gambit?

If you and Red Ryu both agree and are so confident on JTB scum, I would be willing to lynch him toDay. Sure, I'll be concerned about our experience ratio, but I can cope. It's not really that bad; of the inexperienced players, we still have some logical players.

I don't believe JTB is mafia, because of everything he did. I find it much harder to believe that a scum would put himself that out there on day 1, post 1, faking a copclaim with not much chance to get a lynch in.
I never showed suspicion because the fake-claim itself already cleared him for me, for now, as far as I'm concerned.
Ughhhh I drove myself crazy trying to find the post where you said that and it turns out it was Gustave who said it >_< Sorry - I should have known you were better than to think that lol.

Speaking of which, don't sell yourself short (if you're town) - you wouldn't be completely hopeless without a more experienced player here. Already I saw quite a bit of stuff I liked from you this game, but I'm still questioning your motivation behind this push for Auspher. Anyways, we can save that for post-game.

JTB has always been good at dealing with pressure, town or scum. I can't apply any meta here.

Alright.

I actually wasn't the one to push Auspher. I applied some pressure to him and was content with his answers. Then his play started looking scummy again and someone else picked up on it (I forget who).

I will wait to see his claim, which should come shortly as he is viewing.

Which character is that?

Also, the claim doesn't mean much to me thanks to Tery showing his intentions of how he would read it before the claim happened. :glare:

He is implying he is Peanut, because he is my favorite character. (I'm Justin btw)

Now I'm legit confused.

T-Block, who is Peanut right now?

Peanut Butter Sandwich
Also: Ball!

Graaaaaape!

What’s that? You want to play? Peanut wants to play! Peanut is ultra-enthusiastic with most everything he does, which mostly consists of playing ALL KINDS of games. On top of that, he’s an extraordinarily fast reader (though whether he’s a fast learner is up for debate).

He creates his own comic called The Adventures of Spot (superdog) (see below) which is a pastiche of superhero comics and movies he’s somewhat familiar with, and on occasion will be about just anything that strikes his fancy. He has a great deal of anxiety about storytelling and gets overexcited about most everything related to it.

Peanut lives with Grape, and has a crush on her, despite the fact that she’s a cat. Recognizing this hasn’t stopped him from waking her up from her nap while in a panic, which he does quite often. He also has a girlfriend named Tarot who came to him under extremely odd circumstances. He is also okay with this.
Peanut for reference for those not familiar with flavor.

Yeah this mafia game was just a ploy to get us to read the housepets comics, wasn't it? :p

Why did RR think you were peanut, T-block?

I couldn't find any peanuts >=(

JTB, you're being silly. The gambit was hella obvious, but going along with it or going against it isn't a scum tell in itself. Do you really think there's a higher chance of scum being among those who opposed it? If you're going to throw out a daycop claim like that at the start of D1 where some reasonable players will pick up on it, you gain information on experience of other players rather than alignment, no?

You should be able to tell much more about how the target of the gambit reacts though, especially since this is apparently his first game. I don't think his reaction was tainted by the posts of others to such an extent that we can gain no information at all from it. Having a daycop call you scum right off the bat is pretty scary even without votes to back it up, especially for a new player. Yet in your 116, you dismiss any information gained on TG7 in favour of casting suspicion on pretty much everyone else. Why?

So, JTB, are you able to tell anything about TG7?

I don't really like how you followed up on this gambit at all.

Oh man...

Imma let Kantrip take this one.

*goes to find peanuts to snack on*
T-Block trolled me.

Oh, I thought he was claiming Justin, I didn't realize he was referring to RR.

Why is he a clear if no one cc's flavor? That makes no sense.

There are two alternatives.

1. Scum team is Peanut and Grape to fake out.

This is false, based on the posts here.

2. Peanut and Grape are town.

Which seems to be the case.
