right, i'll go get sonic and knuckles now. only reason i don't have it yet is cause i'm not sure how to make it work on my emulator.

i actually own it somehow =) i have a genesis but i almost never played it cause...well, actually, i don't know why. why would i get a genesis and then not play it? i think i thought i was too old to get interested in a new system like that. that's really weird. i oughta dig that up at some point.

and...if dr. peepee is the one with hamtaro, he looks a lot like sylar.

k guys, i was right, i don't know how to make it so i can use knuckles in one of the other games. i actually forgot sonic and knuckles was its own game, that was a nice surprise =P

so does anyone know how to do that? i'm using "Fusion" 3.6.

knuckles is so broken in other sonic games.

u just climb and fly over levels lol

knuckles would have been **** in brawl

I liked Knuckles Chaotix for the 32x, and Bio Hazard Battle was pretty ****ing cool too.

Forgotten Worlds was fun to play through with a friend. Altered Beasts was epic.

and lol at Kid Chameleon, that game was pretty interesting too.

Good times... :3

I think most moves have awful hitboxes.

In the example you used (Falcon's aerials vs Sheik's F-tilt) what people don't realize is that Sheik's F-tilt leaves a lingering hitbox as it goes upwards. It leaves an arc, somewhat. This arc is what you're usually hitting with if you're spacing it to beat aerials (like, say, Fox's Nair). Moreover, people also forget to take jump time into consideration. Say Falcon is airborne frame 6? That means in addition to whatever move startup he has, he also has +6 from his jump. Sheik only has 7-9 for the hitbox to be in position to beat that, even less if the Falcon is landing rather low because her hitbox comes out frame 5.

Fox's U-tilt has a very, very stupid hitbox. In fact, most U-tilts have a very, very stupid hitbox.

tl;dr the top tiers have gay hitboxes and jumping takes time becomes relevant in smash for close range stuff especially when dealing with specific move to move interactions.

I think a lot of aerial vs aerial stuff for priority is rather close and that's where it becomes very relevant where you're hitting with moves. Fox's Nair has its largest hitbox in front of it and slightly above it as the move is out, for instance. Sheik's Bair is just everywhere near the end of the extended leg but surprisingly average everywhere else. A lot of moves lose hitbox size ("priority" I suppose) depending on how long they've been out or if they've been out long at all.

General rule of thumb with hitbox size from my own observations on moves like sex kicks (long-lasting moves) seems to be hitboxes are small when they come out, grow exponentially gay for a few frames after, and then shrink.

For short-term moves like Fox U-tilt or Luigi's F-air the results seem to vary more.

I really, really wish SSBM had an option where you could play while being able to observe the hitboxes. Not the characters, but just the hitboxes. The hitboxes for attacks, shields, invincibility... see everything going on. That would be incredible for learning about how everything works...

can't you do this with action replay? i mean, isn't that how we got frame data in the first place?
