hey y'all.
i don't post in here much cause i'm pubtrash, but i'm subscribed to this thread and faithfully read its comments in my inbox everynight. I think the smashboards lol tournament is a great idea!

The only thing about option 1 is that there are a lot of smashers who play with non smashers and there is also a lot of smashers who don't view this thread.
What is the qualifications for a person to be in option 2?
Like I think Mango should be allowed to play in the tournament, but he is banned from SWF.

I loved HoN.
But after my talk with s2 regarding some things I've quit it and am trying to get competitive in LoL now.

I kind of share the same thoughts as Scamp, but I do think that option two would still be fun. Also agree that there should be some form of listing out what roles you specialize in, can fill if needed, or are just plain bad at.

Flamespitter: The Tyrannosaurus Rex spits fire. That's what Tyrannosaurus Rex do. That's how they got to the top of the food chain, and that's why a meteor had to kill them all. Nothing else could. Imagine it like a dragon, but not.
Scrap Shield: Did you see the High Definition Concept Photo? That Tyrannosaurus Rex has mo-****ing sci-fi armor. What's worse than a Tyrannosaurus Rex? How about one that can pull up a force field with its armor. Boom - problem solved.
Electro-Harpoon: The Tyrannosaurus Rex spits a wad of phlegm, and then another. Along with having short arms, Tyrannosaurus Rex are known to have horrible allergies. (or lasers, your choice)
The Equalizer: As the king of the dinosaurs, the Tyrannosaurus Rex calls forth a meteor shower, raining the death of his kind upon his enemies. Meteors!

I'm guessing the level restriction or certain amount of champions requirement would be an all-in-one rule? As in, I'm not level 30 yet, but I do own 31 champs and as such would (more than likely) be able to play?To help with a player draft, we can restrict entry to people at lvl 30 or with at least X number of characters unlocked. Then when we sign up, we can post what roles we are comfortable with. That way captains can think "oh, I want to play an AP carry in this and I alreadt drafted a guy I know can junle so I'll take this guy who says he can play AD or top lane."

why do I have to own a lot of champs? That sounds gay
You own 10 champs. You are last pick on your team. They first four bans are targetted at you, 4/10 of your champs are gone. Then your teammates and opponents pick the rest of your champs. What happens now?
EDIT: and to make things simplier, all the free champs for this week are champs you own.

I think what he's saying is Diversity in Roles is Very important.
I know there's a few people that I don't play with solely for the fact that they seem to be only able to play one role/character. which then sucks because half the time you have to build the team comp around them the whole time if you are actually trying to win.
I used to be like that where I could only play AP carrys but then I was like wow I'm not really benefiting anyone so then I learned how to Play AD carry, Top lane bruiser and Support. and now I'm learning jungle
the only reason I don't learn tank is because I have having to rely on my team fights while I just "set up" kills and peel people off. because if we lose I feel like it's all their fault most of the time (kinda ****ed up but true)

You can't enter draft mode with less than 14 champs available to you to begin with. It includes free champs though, and since free champs switch weekly and this is probably going to take more than a week to get done, there should realistically be at least a minimum requirement of 14 champs unlocked for any one player.
That's really not hard at all to reach though. Annie, Ashe, Kayle, Master Yi, Nunu, Poppy, Ryze, Sivir and Soraka are all 450 IP each; that's 9. Tristana and Alistar can be gotten for free; that's 11. Then there's the big group of 1350 IP champs, which are very diverse and as such it shouldn't be too hard to find a few that you like.
All in all that's 8100 IP.

Gosh I remember when I first start playing league of legends. Got my level 1 account, started playing with my level 30 friends right away. I felt so weak.
Not only did I not know what was going on in the game, i didnt have any runes or masteries or item build knowledge. I don't even remember how long it took to hit level 30, I just know it felt like forever =S

you don't have to play many roles, just play more four+ champs extremely well, and you can play those four+ champs in one role. in fact, anyone that says they can play all roles is kind of lying to themselves, well i guess it depends at what level youre talking about. you don't play all your roles probably equally as well as your best role.

I ult to kill Leblanc and she dies. Afterwards, I'm just sitting in brush attacking myself. I'm 100% serious, I saw Skarner auto-attacking nothing and I'm taking a lot of damage. No one else on the enemy team was around.

i think it does. i play ranked on my smurf and i only own 6 champs (karthus, shaco, poppy, kayle, yi, tryndamere).
if there's ever a week when 3 of them are free, i'll try ranked and see what happens.
if riot didn't give me kayle for free, i wouldn't have to wait as long... =/

WTF... why are the buffing Shaco again?
Olaf and WuKong buffs seem legit, and Graves getting nerfed (of course... though it seems like another of their little wrist-slap ones).

=| obviously a possibility, but we cant run two at once without hurting the viability of both tournaments. so we would have to run one of them first, so we would want to pick the one most people want, so we would still be in this position. dont know why you are randomly all caps locking cussing but its worthless advice.
so we are going to run option 2 because most people want that. we will most likely consider option 1 as a possibility for the next tournament.
to those worried they dont want to play solo queue in a tournament, use this as a opportunity to practice with a team you would never have made! it might just bring our community together more :3
