Started my placement matches for ranked. Don't know why I thought it was a good idea to go it solo instead of duo, but I'm almost done with my placement matches and my last match was with 1400 players. Now I'm scared to keep playing solo because I don't want to do what I did last season :urg:

Gotta duo queue for my own good.
i just got out of a match where the enemy talon mid got a triple kill before 10 minutes. i called mia and pinged too... and won my lane... but some games are uncarryable.

support leblanc

Not sure if this is stupid or ingenious
i watched a regi match where he did this

here's the result

The tier list is an interesting beast. I've always played a specific subset of champions and sometimes they get banned a lot and other times people are like "man why u pick kass he for noob lol."

i switched to karthus after anivia became FOTM and got nerfed a while back

i specifically try not to play FOTM heroes. i make it a personal challenge to try and find heroes that i feel are underrated and succeed with them.

I love the mentality that people think playing fotm champs means a win

It doesn't always. Like right now we have two people who decided to random in champs they didnt know how to play and trollbuild, and while I'm "carrying" my team is lisng because I can't keep up with intentional feed.

I hate the mentality that playing a FotM champ automatically makes you a bad person

I hate the mentality that playing a champ low on the tier list makes you an awesome person

That awkward moment when you play a champ and like it and then notice 6300 :(

story time!

so i was in the middle of making a post about how shaco was a terrible character and how every shaco i've seen this season (3 or 4) has been trash (and they have all been on my team)

but i queued up for a game and the enemy team picks shaco

i realized then that shaco probably wasn't that bad of a hero... he just followed the "John Rule of Matchmaking" which is:

an akali/fiddlesticks/leblanc/twitch/talon/tryndamere/shaco will be a terrible feeder if they are on john's team, and will be amazing if they are on the enemy team.
i PREDICTED that this would happen before the match.

our last pick was told to go support for my ad carry. he picked cho'gath instead and went 1/10. the enemy shaco went godlike.

i need to vent because i have THE. WORST. MATCHMAKING. EVER. none of you can statistically even come close. it's ****ing unbelievable. i'd post about it every time i get a terrible team (like everyone else seems to do) but me being the only positive player on my team (or one of 2) has become the norm. i'm not exaggerating at all.

Eww isnt vlad mediocre now? Why is he tier 1 in elementz list? How many ranked games do you have played john? Youve prolly heard this before but if you keep playing, your elo will eventually rise as long as you win at least 51% of your games :p

i got stuck in 800 elo last season but still managed to get gold. i got gold this season after 13 games but i've hit a brick wall... i could carry even the crappiest teams at 1200, but now my opponents are competent and my teammates are as bad as ever.

i went from gold to bronze in 3 games LOL how does that even happen?

solo q is such a joke

at least this isn't on my main account. i was going to try and win a game with every hero on my smurf account once i got to a decent elo... but at this rate it will take forever

an extra second is HUGE when you consider it's his bread and butter skill.

and the fact that it's 4 seconds to 5 seconds (or something) is -25% damage done in a teamfight.

How is Vlad a mediocre character? His only nerf was an extra second on Transfusion iirc.
There was a series of nerfs after he came out including cooldown increases, a passive AP->HP conversion (and vice versa) nerf, a sanguine pool slow & tower targeting nerf, and I WANT to say also a heal-from-Q nerf.

He's mediocre as a caster atm because the other casters do more. A couple examples being Ryze/Cass do better sustained damage. Brand/Morgana/Karthus have better AoE. Veigar/Annie have more burst... and they all have more root/stun CC too.

In a game where pushing towers and getting jungle objectives is key, mid-lane sustain isn't quite as effective as you might think.

You know, I was afraid I was on everyone's ignore list because no one answered my occasional questions, but I guess I'm not, lol.

Idk, I've already said it over and over, but I'm a low ELO player and Vlad still looks uber gay to me.

Buuuuuut, I see what you're saying. He's comparably mediocre. I can still think he's gay though, right?

Indeed. A non-nerfed Vlad is one of the most annoying things to deal with IMO. But then again I play Evelynn, so what right do I have to complain?

Talon 1 v 1 late game isn't a monster compared to other champs (he's not beating Jax anytime soon), but he still offers respectable AoE damage and his silence still ****s someone over pretty hard. If your team has Mumu for example, who cares if they have oracles if you get to crap on them for free?
How so? He's not that reliant on his stealth. If he decides to use it to disengage, you can see him but what are you gonna do? Chase a speed boosted Talon that can still juke with his silence while the rest of his team beats on your team?

I really came here to ask for a jungle Cho build. I picked him on a whim and did pretty well but I know my starting build and runes were much less than optimal (Udyr runes, cloth + pots, I know, I'm terrible).
I agree with shaya that his late game isnt that great but he feels akali status to some extent with his snowballing and mid game capabilities. (pink ward/Oracles nerfs him in team battles)
Talon's biggest problem early game are people who can take his rake and not care. All his other abilities require you to be right next to your opponent or you end up there afterwards.

So people like Garen, Cho'Gath, and the like. Maybe Rumble, Lee Sin, Udyr, Warwick. Especially if they get armor.
how effective can he be against a team with oracles / supported range carries / ap nukers who don't need to be in range to deal more than a quarter of his total output?

He suffers the same fate as Pantheon except his mid game burst is a lot stronger.
hey buddies do you feel the same way still?

so the new meta is blue team's bot lane taking the small golems to get level 2 before their opponents?

what a dumb balance problem, they're going to have to change the jungle if they want to fix that

Well there are certain tradeoffs both sides get in the jungle. Bot lane can do that on blue side, while the jungler up top can do mini golems and level 2 gank top lane right off the bat.

If it was 1 side specific, like purple team can BD Baron cause his fatass was hugging the wall, then sure.

a lot of the level two gank junglers start minis. And holy **** guys, now top purple will get minis early and be level two against their level one. As a pantheon fan the obvious makes me moist.

Also talon still isn't the op strong late game.
