Because we're running 114+ flat mana runes on Yorick, and need the additional <50 or so to make his laning bearable.

Idk.

Shaco has crazy late game damage. Like... no joke. I'm pretty sure no other character in the game scales as hard as him in terms of damage. BUT, he's still a weak and mostly unviable character.
most shaco's ive seen r like ppl who play cass or jax. a good shaco, cass, or jax, will **** EVERYONE. igood shacos makes ME want to play shaco. when i do try, i suck and we lose. haha

It's the underused character syndrome. They appear to be amazing because they are exceptionally skilled with the character not because the character itself is "good". Fro does this with Katarina. Zac with LeeSin. Shaya with Shaco. Me with Karma.
Also, jpak isn't necessarily trolling when he says stuff like "Swf knowledge too strong". You'd have to ask him about his view on the game to understand his sarcasm and humor. It's been enlightening.

his lifesteal was so good it pissed me off even pre-buff. as long as he has the mana for one famine ghoul, he can go from "killable" to "safe" in no time

perfect counter to blitz. after about 5 mins in lane with me after i got 1 kill by pulling him into tower, i couldnt pull him again. every singe time id throw out a grab that would hti him, hed throw a minion in front of him. safe.

well LoL IS a team game so it all depends on team set-up. And, keep in mind, underrated characters can still be very very good but rated low because there are BETTER versions of them.

i.e. Karma is considered bottom tier because every other support in the game is superior to her . . . but she's still solid and still very useful to have on the team (as any support really should be). It's just people think she's terrible because people say she's terrible when, really, she's just not as strong as some other options.

Karma is pretty underrated. Basically, while other support chars (i.e. Soraka) support better than her, she can do stupid damage, especially when compared to other supports (i.e. Soraka again). I personally prefer building her as an AP nuke, but that's just coming from me, who's a total noob. :/

Karma is actually ridiculously strong, and I think she'll get her time in the limelight soon enough. Currently I think she's better than Janna, but her biggest downside is the lack of a disruptive ulti.

No one listens to me...maybe they'll listen to Panda.
I thought everyone KNEW karma was strong . . . she just isn't AS good as other supports.

She's 10x better in lane than Janna . . . but dat ult. I mean that's what really makes janna useful.

The problem is, I mean, no one is going to waste their bans on nothing but support, so you're going to get to choose SOMEBODY and Karma's pretty much bottom of the barrel . . . even if the barrel is full of good things.

She's fun, though, <3 that passive. It interacts so well with GA. Since that means that she can get low to get full use out of it but still be somewhat safe . . . and then a deathcap too . . . I mean she nukes really well (though, I mean, if you want a nuker with SOME support to her, there are characters like Orianna who do it better)... she just does not have the utility of other support characters . . . though the fact that she's "different" may mean that if the meta shifts the right way, she could start looking pretty good.

orianna too strong when played with right team

and when played with bravery and soul, so unbeatable
orianna is going to be my lee sin (zac) and my shaco (shaya)

going to get creative and do new stuff with her

also yorick is really strong. and mana mastery blows. why was this ever discussed. also 20 mana isnt a enough for one spell

I would like info but I doubt I'll be getting a chance to play. There are only 5 people currently registered for UPenn, and while 2 are above 1400 rating, one of the others is either unranked or plays for funsies and the other is level 24. The first guy could work out, but there's probably SOOOO MUCH we'd have to teach the second, and it'd probably take a while before he's up to a competitive level.

Trundle is very underrated. People always say he's average but I personally think he's one of the strongest Tanky DPS out there right now (especially due to his Pillar), and his ganks are devastating.

Too late, I've already made Orianna my new Gragas >:D

Wait, if I already have Gragas then what does that make Orianna... Oh I guess she's my new pirate now that pirate is OP.

Sadly short of Blitzcrank all the champs I've liked to play have come into the limelight.

Well, except for Trundle. He only surfaced for a little while.

The characters aren't popular when I've started playing them (at least this is the case for Cho)... but then due to nerfs/bans they become popular because they are good.

I just pick by playstyle and design and if I like how they feel, not based on how good they are.

definitely W. the root is too much to pass up. and Q is only really useful after immediately using w anyways.
Depends on what lane you are in. Duo lane, maxing Root is probably best. If you're soloing, I see a lot of people max Q.

You have to view your benefit of SV with the benefits of AD. with yorick
for instance SV increases your healing by 15%

so you go from 50% of the E to 56% of the E
and from 35% of your AD to 39% of your AD.

you have to justify that 6% and 4% to be more than for instance the 80+ AD from an AD item.

so thats 40 healing with the 80 AD. so 6% of your up front damage has to be >40 in order for SV to be worth it over an AD item as well as the 4% of your AD being more than 28.

which works out to you having around 670 AD.

thats kind of why i've dropped Spirit Visage as an item, when i can get a faster Manamune for much higher healing as well as mana and damage.

^^

EDIT: and also if you go faster AD, you can max W over E and still keep pretty equivilent healing in lane while increasing damage greatly as well as getting a kill if the player overextends for even a little bit with the extra slow. and it makes him much much stronger when ganked since he can eliminate one of the champs from the fight for a little bit.

Its hilarious, I win constantly then as soon as I break 1600 I have losing streaks caused by intentional feeders, leavers, and discons. This has happened 3 times already since I've unquit the game.

I'm starting to remember why this game is the biggest waste of my time ever.

I never solo queue, always duo queue. Sorry guys. Oh and my latest losing streak was kicked off by the smurf account of the "best Brand in EU" (confirmed by my duo partner) who lost, as Brand, to an Annie in mid. Then he proceeded to run forward into their towers constantly because he was angry that the Singed on our team decided to go side lane.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Panda, how do you build Gragas?
I dunno, just a ton of AP. Pen boots, 2-3 doran's rings depending on my mood, rush deathcap then usually voidstaff. After that its just whatever I feel like doing. The only things set in stone for me are pen boots and deathcap (with void eventually). I just build for the games I'm in since Riot apparently hates creativity with builds.

Which reminds me, if you ever get stacked with an AP champ, the best way to completely lose your lead and run your advantage into the ground is to not rush a void straight after deathcap. I've come back in SO many games against an uber stacked AP champ just because they decide to grab ZH or Rylais or something instead of void, so their damage output went to absolute crap. Its mildly amusing how dumb some people are.
