How about Jinx (the little dojo master from Monstro Town) as the AT, where he could do those crazy strong attacks like Silver Bullet. It can actually KO if don't block it, if I remember right.

Jinx would be nice as an AT thought I think if we get 1 AT its going to be for mallow. Unless he is incorporated some other way. There many characters with AT ability :D

It's not that it's different or anything. It's just that this week's music update is, once again, not Mario music. Which coincides with an ongoing theory of mine:

So, the (extremely amazing) DK music that was uploaded today got me thinking...before now, there hadn't been a sample of DK music on the site. And no series has gotten more than one sample since the site went live.

What if--and I'm in full conspiracy mode here--what if every series is intended to get one sample track, and they're holding back certain ones to coincide with newcomer reveals? Full newcomers, not echoes, I mean. It might be a stretch, but it is possible.

And guess what series suspiciously doesn't have a sample yet: that's right, Super Mario.

I find that odd. They started with the Smash theme, Zelda, and...Street Fighter? Why not just use a Mario remix? We already know there's at least one: the SMB3 Bowser battle theme, used in Bowser's info video. But they haven't uploaded that one, or any other Mario arrangement, this entire time.

Could be coincidence. Could be they're holding off for Geno. Until they post a Mario arrangement though, I choose to believe the latter.

Dragon lord just noted the same thing I did about the Bowser theme. It's conspicuously absent, when a Mario music sample should be on the site already.

I recall that about the Brawl site, too. Specifically, I remember Pikmin getting a sample the same day Olimar was revealed. That's partially where I'm getting this theory from. There seems to be precedent.

As for the Ridley remix, that could potentially hurt the theory if they post a sample for it, as there's already a Metroid song on that page: the Brinstar Depths one. As of right now though, it reinforces the theory--despite the Ridley arrangement existing, they haven't posted a sampling.

Perhaps...because they only intend to do one for each series?

Yeah, that's a problem I have, as well. This may imply no Skull Kid. There's also a Kirby song, so no Bandana Dee...I support both, so this bums me out. At least you can't say I'm biased to my theory, lol.

Also, no Pokemon song, so there may yet be a newcomer there. That may be good news for some.

Echoes don't seem to count for this. I'm only thinking the music will be added from Character trailers after they're shown, and echoes don't get trailers.

Then again, the whole theory could be completely wrong, lol. All they have to do is post a Mario sample to bust it.

Count me in as a supporter! Super Mario RPG was one of those games that defined my childhood and it would be great to see Geno get some love again.

As for music, SMRPG's music has such a nice charm to it that no Mario game has replicated since. If Geno is in Smash, I think there would have to be a few tracks from the game in. My favorites:

Just the fact that Sakurai's wanted Geno since Brawl, and that the relationship with SquareEnix really took on at the end of Smash 4's development (for Cloud as DLC) is enough for me to be confident in Geno's chances. I give him near the highest I give to characters.

It never occurred to me, but it really is possible that that SMB3 Bowser theme is part of a medley. At first I thought it was weird that they chose this Bowser theme to make a remix of, when it's quite repetitive and can get annoying in comparison to other Bowser boss battles like Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy or even Paper Mario.

Now I'm convinced that it's part of some medley, being it a Bowser boss battle medley or... a Super Mario RPG medley!

Don't get me wrong, I love it and I love that it's in Ultimate, it's just that I don't see a full remix of it because of its repetitiveness. It's not like Gangplank Galleon for example, in my opinion it fits better in a medley.

Mario 3 basically had the best everything TBH.

I find it hilarious the only major character in that game that isn't playable is Toad lol.

Just really funny to think that we got not just Mario, Luigi, Peach and Bowser playable before Toad, but also the 7 Koopalings as well.

Mario 3 is actually my favorite game of all time. I played through it enough that I know all the secrets. It probably helps that I used to have a strategy guide for the game.

Fun fact: The Smash Ultimate demo had as many playable characters and playable stages in it when it was first unveiled

As Street Fighter V had playable characters (32 playable characters and 23 playable stages respectively; not counting Omega or Battlefield forms either).

And Street Fighter V had been out for over 2 1/2 years and just finished its' 3rd season of DLC (which is $30 a season after a $60 base game).

Even this games' demo is overachieving and going overboard.

Geno has my support. He was always a pipe dream before but with the fact that Sakurai himself likes the character, SquareEnix already having given Nintendo Cloud to use so he's out of the way now, and Ultimate having an almost surreal amount of long time fan demanded characters, this is Geno's best shot.

I watched him fail it over and over and over and over, I just took the controller from him, showed him how to beat the level by doing it.
