I guess I’m unsure what “boomer” character would mean. Would this mean a character from like the late 80s/early 90s that everyone knew back then? Or just an old NES/Famicom Rep?

Also when it comes to shill characters... I’m assuming that’d mean no Eldegard or gen 8 Pokemon which is kinda what I figured... But if one character IS a “shill” , that doesn’t mean they’d have to be a brand new character correct? They could be a previously established one?

It wouldn't surprise me to be honest.
Sakurai love making references with alts , or others things , I mean , he's the one guy who said "Make Wii Fit do an up-smash just before she get hit by the galeem beam because it has intangibilty frames in-game as a silly joke" for the WoL of light trailer.

And since they only has SMRPG as source material , it wouldn't surprise me if they have the guide book lol

Shill in the sense that their only purpose in the game is to sell a particular game ala Roy or Corrin. One character might go in this direction but that's it as of now. There's a large amount of confidence in 2 of the 5, with confidence jumping to 4 depending on who you talk to.

Because I know people are pulling their hair out because of it, I will say that the Minecraft evidence is really ambiguous. Unless there's evidence that's being kept tight under wraps by certain people, it largely boils down to how much people trust the word of mouth of their sources. An incident that happened earlier this cycle also has people casting strong doubts but it also begs the question of what those people saw that gave them such strong confidence in their statements.

He said it was from his most trustworthy source.

Additionally, insiders say there is a character older fans will love but younger fans may whine about, and the dlc is not going to be about advertisement.

Anyway, regarding Fatmanonice's claims, if it's not Master Hand, Metal Mario, Banjo, or Mr. Dink (who I hear is very expensive, Huh huh!), then my guess is either Ryu Hayabusa or Billy Lee.

Hard to say. The people who have strong confidence could be tucking conclusive evidence in their underwear but, if it's that definitive, they have no incentive to share it. My take is that, on a surface level, it's more about trust than actual evidence. For example, if Polar came in here and said "my source says Rocko from Rocko's Modern Life is in" it would likely have more to do with their strong relationship and track record than anything else, even if there's doubts. 1. Why would they lie and 2. what gives them such confidence in their statement? It's like if your best friend told you something, your knee jerk reaction would be to believe them, right? It's that sort of thing. "You just have to trust me on this one."

Erdrick... actually that's just me being realistic because if I could have any DQ character it'd be Dragon Lord. The mood in this thread has been kind of a bummer to me being both a fan of DQ and SMRPG... just like enjoying Minecraft in the Banjo thread.

Chrono would be a nice second choice for me, though again that's just the realistic "protagonists only" mindset because who I'd really want is Frog.
