Those are definitely solid points, and I'm by no means trying to say that the double E3 reveal is impossible (just that it isn't a certainty). I just feel that the two options I pointed out A and B both have factors going against them.

A) While the spacing between characters is respectable, it means that the second half of 2021 contains no new character reveals. While not impossible, this seems like a rather anti-climatic way to finish the pass (unless we get bonus characters).

B) Very unlikely, means we got a 12 month gap between the reveal of 7+8 and the reveal of 9+10. Granted there are character releases in-between, but a whole year without a new reveal seems near impossible (unless they do some thing where they announce the franchise at E3).

I dunno, doesn't matter anyway cause of the Rona. For now though, it's time to get pumped for Steve.
1. Smash's roster kind of always ends in a anti-climatic way.

2. The timeframe when the suppose next E3 could drop is in June so that's 7 months away from now not 12. The gap between FP8 and FP9 would most likely be 6 to 5 months.

Makes me glad Operation Starfall got some press.
Even if we don't get Geno (I believe we will but for the sake of argument here) then pushing for him and Mallow to return in future titles is the best thing we can pass forward.

And now I feel old now and I'm only 33...
EDIT:
I’m 33 too lol

Didn't know if anyone posted this here yet, it's speculative and fun so I figured I'd drop it here in case nobody else did. What's your thoughts Genobros?
I love that he added a "caution" classification to some of the requested characters. Those do feel like their shot for getting into Smash would kind'a linger in that thread of whether they'd include one more Western rep or not (although imo, Crash feels like a lock). The most important take from this video though is that...

GENO IS MATH CERTIFIED!!! LET'S GO LADS!!!!

Okay, we'll need to keep our eyes peeled for any potential glitches with the fighters in this recent update. They could provide a potential clue to who is next. Bayo's glitch served as a hint for MinMin after all

Geno is my most wanted character for Smash, I've said this for a while now. Though at the same time, two things have come up that should be considered for the rest of the speculation cycle. It might help us figure out who the characters FP8-FP11 are beyond Geno. First, from the Rayman thread, an article from Gamesindustry: https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2020-01-29-who-saved-rare and this text from said article:
"We had an initial kick off call with Sakurai-san and some of his team. There was myself, Gregg Mayles... who is the father of Banjo, even though he hates it when we call him that. Andrew Wensley, who runs our business team. And a chap called Paul Cunningham, who runs our partnerships. Those people had a conversation, [Nintendo] talked through what their approach would be, and then that process started.

"And then a year goes by of sharing animatics and ideas and character concepts. It was a back-and-forth. We ended up with something that was really great. But the execution came from the Smash team."

Second, a Twitter thread regarding the company copyrights for Smash Ultimate which is interesting https://mobile.twitter.com/msdrvous_Time/status/1313563926785863682

So, as I'm lurking over Steve's Spirit Board, Steve's inclusion, funnily enough, further kills the Spirits rule.

As all of you know, Zombie and Enderman are alts of Steve.

And as it turns out, these two are on Steve's Spirit Board:

As you can see, Zombie and Enderman can technically be considered Spirit upgrades.

And before anyone says that Zombie and Enderman are just alts, the game treats them as characters separate from Steve and Alex, what with their names being listed as Zombie and Enderman and the fact that the announcer calls out their name just like Steve and Alex.

I know this isn't really anything too crazy since we all already knew the Spirits rule was long dead once Min Min got included, but I had to point this out because the more Spirits that get upgraded, the more likely Geno becomes.

So if anyone's interested, here are my impressions of Steve so far:

-I can gladly say that Steve is far from broken. His jump still sucks, he has surprisingly average reach and his blocks cost a lot of resources making them hard to spam and edge guard with. Also, his farming is slow enough that rushdown characters really give him trouble.

-On the upside, his recovery is amazing as expected and you don't have to stack upgrades for his gear. If you pull a diamond, you can upgrade to max in one step. Diamond gear is stupidly powerful BTW, his side smash able to KO an average fighter anywhere on FD once they hit about 95% damage. He also still has a lot of OP edgeguard moves with Dtilt, Dair and TNT. His mine cart can double as a secondary recovery or as a potentially powerful burst kill option akin to Inkling's splat roller. As for normals, he's got a lot of easy-to-use combos for racking up damage and an extremely deadly Bair for closing out stocks. (but no, Gimr's theoretical Jab string into Fair spike combo is not actually a thing, thank goodness)

-Weight seems pretty average and overall kill power is very dependent on his gear.

-Overall, I could see him being fairly dangerous in the right hands but he's pretty technical and I don't see people being good with him very easily. At least I'm relieved to know that he's nowhere near as scary as people were expecting him to be.

So far, all I can really say is that I suck so bad with Steve. Out of all the DLC characters, I'd say Steve is probably the hardest to use DLC character for me. That's not to say he isn't fun however, because I'm really having fun with this character, and its so surreal to think that Minecraft is in Smash at all, but I doubt this will be a character I will seriously pick up and play, as I am usually not a fan of the huge technical characters, which has been a huge trend with a lot of these DLC characters.

So, to no one's surprise at all, imma stick with maining Banjo, at least until Geno or Crash get included. ;)

I tried Steve out for a bit but he’s not really my cup of tea. I had more fun with the Bomberman Mii fighter.
I wonder if anything interesting will be data mined?

Played with Steve/Alex and here is my explaining.

Like how Sakurai presents the character, Mine and Craft IS the highlight of their moveset.

You do start with wood equipment and can be upgrade with a certain amount of material needed. However, you are back to wood weapons should you lose your stock. Fitting how you lose everything in Minecraft once ded. (Don't worry, materials are still present, so you can bounce back.)

Diamonds are the RAREST material (again, fitting how everyone is drooling to find diamonds as highest grade weapons and armor) to get and you just only need one to make diamond weapons.

How they play feels like a mix of punish, resource management and brawler in a sense. So characters that are fast, range and patient players can beat Steve/Alex if not enough breathing room can be made for crafting.

Plus, the recovery will lead to self destructs if one doesn't practice turning the other way before flying up.

Last thing, block placement off stage's range is shorter compared to the presentation recorded months ago. So, you can't place a block to save you live and/or block recovery if you are TOO FAR from the stage.

Now we just need Classic mode to see if Steve, Alex, Zombie and Enderman get their own fighter spirit.

I was a bit afraid that Steve would be too complicated to play as, but playing him for a bit he's actually pretty fun. I think right now the Zombie alt is my favorite.

Steve feels balanced, albeit his Mining seems like it got nerfed on release in comparison to what Sakurai showed during the showcase presentation. Outside of his weapons, down tilt sure is useful (and up Smash). And now the wait for the week after the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Online Open October Tournament continues.

Steve fans got a bunch of crap from jerks over the past two or so years (the Grotesque Steve trolls also joining in on bothering Steve fans at least last year) and most aren’t even acting like this. Steve fans were also called toxic just for arguing against “‘reasons’ Steve can’t get in” and debunked arguments iirc.

Of course I also hate how the Geno fanbase gets generalized, though, and gets a bunch of crap from jerks too. I can imagine people assuming we’re all toxic just for one guy’s stage ._.
This is accurate. I remember the Steve discord being shut down as a result of the trolls' actions.

Steve's codename is Pickel. Who on earth would you think "Pickel" would be before a reveal? I would guess Burger King or something crazy lmao.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Minecraft Steve. His playstyle is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of block physics most of his moveset will go over a typical player's head.

If Burger King got into Smash it might finally get them to make the Sneak King sequel we've been so desperately begging for for the past decade.
