Tomorrow should be interesting. I think getting an indie direct is already a VERY good sign of things to come, and backs up what a lot of people heard. Now all that’s left to do is sleep through watch the Indie World Presentation and await the coming days!

...Look indies are cool but I’ve got like 3 more days of sleeping in super late before college starts, I want to abuse my insomnia dammit!

Honestly, I'm much more excited for there possibly being a general Direct after this Indie World presentation than I am for the Indie World presentation itself. Every time I tune in it always just ends up being a bunch of stuff that looks generally fine.

I'm also for some reason thinking of more "second party" stuff like Crystalis but I doubt that's it
I would kill for a Crystalis 2.

Honestly I have a confession to make. Lately, I have been playing through a lot of old Nintendo 64 games while waiting for ANY sort of news. Some people may think its odd for me to play a system as old as the Nintendo 64 in 2020, but my mind is just telling me I have too. I have been driven crazy over the lack of any sort of announcements to the point where I don't even feel motivated to play my Switch. Right now, just putting on SM64, DKR, Banjo ect. just feels right atm.

Basically what I'm saying is that Nintendo HAS to announce something in these coming weeks and I SERIOUSLY hope these claims are true that we will be in for something soon. I want a reason to play my Switch in 2020. I love Nintendo, but even I can't make excuses for them forever. They seriously need to do something because this year has been so dry for them that I feel more like playing the 24 year old Nintendo 64 over the 3 year old Switch. This is a prime example of what can happen when a company can remain silent for so long until the consumer inevitably gets bored from them. I never thought I would ever say the Switch feels boring right now but it seriously does when I have no games to play right now.

I know this sounds harsh. Like I said, Nintendo is a company I love very much and I still do absolutely love the Switch, but I am just being brutally honest about Nintendo's decision making this year as well as how boring the Switch has been this year. I just hope Nintendo has some big games planned because as more and more time goes on with absolute silence, the more crazy I think I will become.

Here's hoping this ages well

And here's hoping it also goes viral so people look back on it and think I'm a prophet

There was a problem fetching the tweet
One can hope for that!

Geno's really become a favorite for Walmart Canada
I mean if Walmart and/or Walmart Canada knows something that other don't know yet!

Another post? Nice! I find it incredibly odd over just how often Wal-Mart has tweeted about Geno. This is like the third or fourth time Wal-Mart has tweeted about Geno. While I doubt Wal-Mart has any insider information that the public doesn't know about, just the fact that they are tweeting about Geno, especially amongst the rumors of him being CP7, is pretty interesting.

If they don't directly know anything themselves, I wonder if they've also been hearing rumors from somewhere.

Dont lose hope. Min Min who already proved us all that Spirits Do Not deconfirm (the last thing we needed to have official), will turn 2 months since she was released next Saturday 29 of August.

Plus, Super Mario will turn 35 years in September. Nintendo turning 131 years in September also.

Don’t be sad, in spite of the virus and Nintendo lack of news, pretty sure they have big plans like: Mario Remasters in 2020 + Smash DLC: Geno and Crash. Plus, Zelda Remasters in 2021, Breath sequel, Metroid Prime 4 and many more, like new 2D of DK & Metroid, and new Kirby plans on the way. I remember I read something about that “Kirby have some big adventures on the way”. On that logic, I remember Sega also said that there are “big plans on new Sonic game which we can’t tell for now”.

Well the thing that gather all of us here is Smash and I have no doubt that Geno is coming playable. Maybe Bonus fighter, maybe #77, maybe #81, who knows. But he is coming playable 100%, hopefully they match the #7 thing! There is no way he is getting Costumed again. They had like 6 waves to do that and didn’t. It’s all on our favor, it’s just a matter of time.

How much time a character is available to download after the next one is revealed? It could be very decent if we have Geno revealed with the Mario Celebration in September, maybe to play as him at the end of September or beginning of October.

Don’t know a date but they will satisfy us, it’s facts speaking for me. The demand, story and all that you already know, he is the perfect biggest character left to be revealed. Design and fun moveset. It will make happy thousands of people. Also it will make a lot of money for them. Nice deal.

Same for Crash, no doubt Nintendo is using this moment to port Crash4 announced with Crash joining the Battle.

Enjoy and live until we get some official news. Geno is here.

The Smash Direct in August 2018 revealed Simon and King K. Rool as new fighters, the Nintendo Direct at E3 2019 revealed Hero and Banjo Kazooie as new fighters. How big do you think are the chances we might get a double reveal in the next general Direct or Smash presentation as well (maybe they initially planned to reveal two fighters at E3 before it got cancelled)?

Geno and Crash really do seem like good candidates: Nintendo needs to deliver now and present a fan favourite / a popular videogame icon in order to make people buy the pass - considering that, a double reveal would make so much sense (in fighters pass 1 also the 2nd and 3rd fighter were presented at the same time and Banjo was the character that convinced a lot of people to buy the pass).

I think pretty big chances for a double reveal: Geno and Crash, both to be downloaded in 2020. Then no more Smash News until March 2021. Half of the FP2 revealed and all of us could live in peace with Geno shining into battle!

I agree, as much as we know everyone has complained about the lack of games in 2020, or announcements for that matter, at the end of the day, its what we payed for, and all we hope is to get the most out of it. Im not trying to make this post negative in any way possible, or promoting people that do complain and dislike directs/direct minis because its not any of the recent rumors we heard, only saying it is justified to be disappointed at the lack of announcements. On a brighter note though, this indie showcase should be pretty interesting, and it could point to new information coming soon with the indie presentation/direct trends, similar to what PapaGenos mentioned in his latest video. Also its funny that you mentioned replaying N64 games because I just bought an N64 after playing my cousins for the last few years. Ive played a ton of N64 games already but its nice to have one for myself haha.

So, on a scale of 1 (dumpster fire) to 10 (crazy hype), what are your predictions for the upcoming Indie Direct?

I'm thinking maybe a 5. Most of it will probably be shovelware but then maybe balance things out with at least one hype reveal?

Fall Guys is taking all of my attention now, so lack of Nintendo news is not really bothering me right now.
I played by myself yesterday. It's not very fun, it's like qwop controls. Shoddy by design. I can see how with friends it would be fun.
Anyways, how many of you guys bought the pass. I only bought min min this time.

Honestly, I'm still playing Bug Fables and there's an indie direct coming up so I'm pretty content. Also, Pokemon cards are taking all my money and I wouldn't be able to afford any new games anyway so there's that.

What do people think about smash showing up in the apparent direct then? I'd say probably one reveal at most. If it's a mini there is no doubt in my mind they will probably throw a sequel to the ARMS bullcrap they did back in March

It's time. It's crazy to think about how Min Min was almost revealed two months ago so we're already rapidly approaching the average time gap between character reveals anyways. I still stand by that the E3 announcements didn't just disappear into the void and that Nintendo is merely saving them for later. Two reveals at E3 has always been the basic expectation so that's my bare minimum going into this next Direct. Beyond that, I think we're going to have 7, 8, and 9 announced by the end of the year at least: two announcements in this upcoming Direct and one either in late October or early November.

I could see one of two things happening I guess.

FP7 announced for a mid September or October release and then FP8 announced shortly after the release, set to release December or January.
Or FP7 and FP8 announced in the upcoming Direct (plz) with a September and December (or a Fall 2020 / Winter 2020) similar to how they did Hero and Banjo.

If I was a betting man I'd probably go for the double announcement. I personally don't think FP9 will be announced now (or maybe even by the end of 2020), but if we do get two characters released by the end of 2020, I'd probably guess Spring 2021, Summer 2021, and Fall 2021 release dates for FP9-FP11.

I'm spending the time by playing Ring Fit Adventure.

I finally got a copy and its a workout, lemme tell you.

Btw, if Geno were to be included, would his victory theme be the little jingle when you win a battle or the jingle plus the theme afterwards?

I'd figure it would be the theme when Mario gets a star piece, the section from where it falls into his hands and just as its about to go off screen. That's about 5 seconds long, so they wouldn't have to modify or speed it up to fit, like they did with Yoshi's butchered victory theme.

The battle victory theme has the bulk of its song stand out at the first 3 seconds, so I think that would get drowned out by the screen transition and the announcer saying how Geno wins.

I just kinda love the battle end theme. Your idea isn't a bad one, but I'll admit. I'm biased there. :p

I mean who can resist.

A listing for a Collectior’s Edition for Zelda BotW2 has just been found on the website WT&T, a site most notable for accidentally leaking the Witcher 3 port for Switch.
There was a problem fetching the tweet
Could a new trailer be finally imminent?
Aw man.

If they actually call it BOTW2, I'm going to be disappointed. I love all the unique Zelda titles.

Well, as mature individuals, I guess we will have to agree to disagree with your opinion and agree that mine is flawless. Sorry, science.

But.....seeing the victory jingle like that, now I can only picture Geno starring in a McDonald's commercial.

'Ba da ba ba ba, I'm ♥♪!? it!'

Hey.

HEY!

That's my gimmick.

How dare you?!?

This is a very serious offense.

Btw should Geno clap when he loses?

I think we are getting a single reveal and will go so far to say that expect Fighter 8 and forward being next year and we are only getting one more character this year

I would think so. The victory theme in battles is too iconic NOT to be Geno's victory theme. I also think it should loop just like Cloud and Joker's themes.

Btw should Geno clap when he loses?
It could work, but an even better losing animation would be Geno sitting down on the floor unposessed by the Star Spirit while being torn up.
