Yeah, all we need is a Chrono Trigger, Nier Automata, Tomb Raider and Kingdom Hearts event and our boy's as good as absolutely in.

Geno I would think has one of the best shots of any character. Nintendo decided to do a second pass and has acknowledged the desire to put Geno in Smash. Besides a few characters they probably would have put into the base game that they didn't due to it coming out late, Byleth, Min Min and probably Rex/Pyra in this pass. This is their chance to add some of the biggest fan favorites that they didn't have time to put in.

If there's a Kingdom Hearts spirit event Geno is gonna rocket up in chance even further. Sora's his only real requested competition, assuming we don't think Square would put Lara Croft or someone else the fanbase isn't asking for.

I find it odd that they used Diddy in Double Dash then, which happened right after the buyout and Nintendo's reluctance to use him in the 90's.

Actually, believe it or not, Donkey Kong Jr. WAS planned to be in Double Dash instead, we see him in early character icons found in the game. I think he still shows up as an audience member. It's another example of how Nintendo was forced to take on the entire Donkey Kong brand when they really had no strong involvement in it for 8 years.

Mii Costume Guy got most of the costumes that came with Banjo, as well as some unannounced ones such as Mallow, Smithy, and others including, I think, Gooigi.

I believe he's also the guy who got Terry's spirit board although that may have been a different dude, I don't remember for certain.

Did not know there was a list! Anyway, this being the list of costumes along with Banjo might match up with the timeline, since Wave 2 talks probably were underway by then, causing Geno and the costumes to move.

Now, in November and December, me and a number of others collected names that they had heard from him or his in-betweens and put them together. At first, we thought it was a "rejected character list" until one of the characters was confirmed in January, Cuphead. These are the Mii costumes that Mii Costume Guy supports that haven't come true yet:

Nintendo: Gooigi, one asked to be kept secret
Capcom: Elecman
Namco- KOS-MOS, Nightmare, Ms. Pac-Man

I think the thing that is weird is...in all the pictures that announce a certain spirit event, it has always been either spirits or the fighters.

I just went through all the pictures upon announcing and I have not seen anything with another Assist Trophy being in the main announcement picture. This is a first, unless I missed one somewhere.

EDIT: Just an observation. I do not think it means anything, but kind of funny to see this in light of Papa's BIG OLE SECRET INFO.

EDIT EDIT: And by this I mean an in game model of Assist Trophies in a picture. There has been one with Springman, but it was his Spirit.

AT battles are common. I wonder if his Mii Costume will be used. Unlike many costumes, it's not a DLC costume this time around, meaning they could use the AT and/or the Costume. I haven't seen the details of the event yet, mind you. But they've used both before, like in the annoying Isaac Spirit Battle. Though maybe there's another AT that could work to act as a team mate to Black Knight? Lyn maybe? But I don't know enough about Bravely Default's battles either where that might make sense.

To be fair, Sora is the only third party character I could entertain for this because, as shown, this overwhelmingly favors first party characters and franchises. I mention Sora because there's decent evidence that Nintendo at least approached Disney about Sora but nobody knows the end result. There's also the fact that Sora has been shoehorned into stuff before with minimal content so there's some precedent to it too. Based on what I presented, I'd honestly argue that Mario, DK, and a retro character of some kind are the ones that walk away with the strongest cases.

That's fair enough man. And I hold only respect for you, but I just can't see what you see here. I appreciate your response. At any rate, I know your speculation is not set in stone since it's just speculation and I know it comes not from naivete since you are more in the know that most of us and have had your heart hardened from years of dealing with the Smash community lol. First of all, thanks for the reply: Geno speculation seems to have its underground treasure trove of information and I‘m excited to speculate based on that info.
Secondly, I can see some of these being discarded or not go through the full process of becoming a Mii, but it does shine some light on either companies involved or even the Mii Costume presence as a whole (as well as the costumes being quite third-party centric, although it’s possible Nintendo’s in-house business is harder to leak.
Third, and this might sound silly, but I‘m bummed Cap’n Cuttlefish isn‘t a Mii Costume. Ah well.

No, there were three characters that one of his in-betweens was told "wouldn't be playable and to stop speculating about" that he shared with me: Ryu Hayabusa, Travis, and Nightmare. Yes, this could potentially mean they could be Mii costumes but the in-between didn't explicitly say that. I had this discussion with someone earlier but Nightmare is on this list because he's the only one of these characters that I've heard from one of my other direct sources, implying they would be in "somehow" but probably not a full character.

Yeah and I'll do a full analysis in the Dixie thread later. In my opinion, under this theory and recent events, Waluigi and Dixie are the big winners. As Imran Khan said, promoting first party characters is a smart move because these are characters that can easily be used for future Smash games and promote Nintendo owned IPs. I think based on all that we know, that Geno reveal will be before we reach page 3.000. It’s amazing how everytime something happens, it’s lead us for Geno to be playable, somehow, more or less:

-Missing Sm4sh costume or Deluxe one
-2 songs takedowns
-My favorite: spirit do NOT deconfirm
-Square events: Mana and Octopath
-The idea of Chocobo, Smithy and Mallow costume coming with Geno playable
-Epic demand pleased already
-New mechanics and fun moveset coming with Timed Hits
-Many more hints

We’ve been running on fumes for awhile, speculation-wise. Ever since we knew FP6 would be an Arms rep, we basically confirmed that we were getting some kind of promotion, either Spirit or AT. Min Min’s reveal only solidified that for us, but we had already talked about it as much as possible in the months leading to her reveal.

We’re in an information drought, so of course we’re grasping at straws.

In other news, we’re possibly looking at a 14 July reveal or announcement. Less than a week—can we knock out 74 more pages before then?
