I thought Markomaro had a tweet talking Mario a while back, but I guess it was someone else and I got them confused. Fatman is the best source I can give you because I know he mentioned it, and April Fools is not his holiday.

On Paper Mario:
Paper Mario rumors first came about insider circles October or so according to one of my guys. Markomaro was the first to make them public in November but it largely slipped under the radar. In January, Sabi basically put it on blast on Twitter.
On Zelda:
Two of my guys have supported the idea that Nintendo is going to try its damnest to make BotW2 a 2020 release. God speed to Nintendo but apparently Nintendo literally pushed this idea on its employees right after E3 2019 wrapped up so I think there will be a serious attempt.
Where's Metroid?:
Everything I've heard about Prime 4 is that development is an absolute trainwreck and apparently so bad that people were predicting it missing E3 2020 back in October and November.
Wow. I'm totally surprised that Nintendo giving a project to developers who haven't put out a game in 6 years are having development problems.

YOOOOOOOOO for real?! I watched Arlo's vid when he's like "oh yeah it's gotta be our holiday 2020 release" and I'm just thinking to myself "nah there's noooooo way". I'd be super stoked if that's the case as BOTW1 was a (needless to say it) amazing game! Makes sense to want to push it though when you have two other competitors launching a new console.
Really, that far back? Just seemed weird to say it's "in development" then they're like "HERE IT IS A YEAR LATER, READY FOR THE HOLIDAY", y'know? "In development" sounded like it'd be 2021's holiday title, or possibly an early 2022 title. I would be absolutely blown away if they can push it to 2020, while also pushing hard on Mario stuff... and Geno of course.
Rip, I'm not expecting it for awhile but even then, my interest in Prime waned heavily when the second game came out. Don't get me wrong, Prime 1 and Fusion were my first Metroid games (despite being a SNES kid, I never had Super Metroid) and amazing ones at that, but idk, Prime 2 just didn't hold me like Prime 1 did and I never even touched Prime 3, so I'm okay if that's stuck in development hell for a bit. More interested in Metroid 5 news personally, but for the people who went bonkers over Prime 4 simply existing, I feel bad for em.
A change in studio and having to redo the ENTIRE game for one. Nintendo wasn't a fan of the direction the original development was going.
I mean, to be fair, it also restrarted completely after years of development, so I wouldn't be surprised if it got stuck in development hell for awhile.
Prime 4 seems like a very unique case. Nintendo's just bad at pacing. Hell even Sakurai is guilty of that (see the 3 Smash directs pre-launch and FP1).
That looks like a very solid FP pack and bonuses. I could really ask for a much better pass because anything much better is a total pipe dream that wouldn't happen.
Never touched a Crash game, have no idea what he or his games are about, but the more I look at these avatars and peoples' love for him, the more I'm kinda passively rooting for him TBH. If he got in, I might look into the trilogy, and I wouldn't be annoyed or angry at his inclusion (granted if I get Geno, anyone after that doesn't even matter, haha). Here's hoping you get your two top boys.

I think most of it will be saved for E3, or their fall direct. Though I think we'll probably get the ARMS reveal in its own presentation shortly before E3
Rat? Crash is a marsupial, thank you very much.
The only exposure to Crash I have has been CTR and it's convinced me that Beenox is straight up one of the best developer teams out there. They are just too good to the player base. We do not deserve them for all the hard work they put into the game. Crash seems just about right for Smash Bros. He is the only character I put ahead of Geno when it comes to who needs to legit be in Smash Ultimate. I may not have any nostalgic ties with the character but Crash belongs in Smash Bros.
Funny, Crash is one of the few franchises where I think the villains are (successfully) designed to be disliked. Crash isn't my favorite in terms of hero characters, but his charm is undeniable. I'm a little up in the air on whether or not I think he "deserves" to be in Smash, and that's coming from someone who can say that during the era, the first three Crash games were some of my favorite platformers.
TBH I really think we'll be getting a Sakurai video in late May (likely last week of the month) or the first week of June. E3 was scheduled for the 9th-11th (Tuesday-Thursday), so I'm kinda expecting the Nintendo direct in that 2nd week and the ARMS rep will be revealed prior so that the E3 direct can have 2 reveals. Very skeptical of seeing 2 + ARMS reveal in one day, so yeah, just my two cents.
I doubt much will be saved for the fall direct (for this year), but we'll probs get some stuff for 2021, and as I already said, I obs agree with your second part.

We'll see. I do think we'll be getting "bonuses" but the packs will be reserved for "world building" characters like Geno. For example, I originally predicted Waluigi for 6 but even I admit a stage and music was often a hard dead end in that talking point. The same could be argued for a hypothetical Iwata tribute because, outside of Balloon Fight, none Iwata's "signature" games really have iconic music aside from franchises already in Smash.
There's something about it that rubs me the wrong way, honestly. Doesn't help that I got the redesign as my avatar.
No lie, they should make CrashBoards a selectable option all year 'round.
The Rebecca Black one from years ago was pretty great as well.

If I remember correctly, the first instance of PM3 talk occured last September. Zippo said that he was surprised it was not revealed in the September 2019 direct. So, i’m not sure if he had been talking about it prior to that or not.
