You bring up a really good point. Usually they do their Nintendo directs in Feburary yes I still think we get it this month. But next month is very plausible too. This is is Nintendo so who knows they might wait till April for all we know. I trust them they know what their doing.

But if they delayed the announcement of who FP5 is until February than I'll start believing that a triple reveal is somewhat likely. A double reveal at that point is inevitable honestly, even if it's not a triple reveal.

I still enjoyed the core of pokemon sword and shield. The battling system is great, and they streamlined making teams. And the humans look great and animate well.

However, there are a lot of issues. The story was meh at times, like it felt you had no say in the overarching story. The textures were from ok to lol. And yes so many bad pokemon animations, the scaling is nuts, and lets not get started on their crappy online. A lot of stuff needs to be improved but the core pokemon gameplay is solid. They have battlings down pat for sure.

Calm down, it's been a little over 2 months since Terry. Remember, Smash 4 had 6 months between reveal and the first newcomer and it was Rosalina (who I love, but that's beside the point). Any sort of major hype backlash from it not being some sort of all-star finisher is once again, entirely on the fans for their own misconstrued expectations. It really has not been that long.

Welp. Not exactly what we were expecting, but it's better than nothing. Maybe I'm alone on this, but I'm thinking we'll hear about the updated rereleases for Sword & Shield. The last time they revealed something like that (Ultra SuMo), it was later in the year (June 6th, to be precise), but I'm willing to bet they pushed it up in order to try and make up for the lackluster product base Sword & Shield were, y'know, try to regain player's trust a bit and be like "Okay, I know you were disappointed by Sword & Shield, you didn't like that we cut over half the Pokemon, half the moves, had a lackluster story, routes, animations, postgame, online, etc., but we're making these new versions that'll be much better, we promise. Please keep buying our games!". Or maybe that's wishful thinking, who knows.

Aside from that, I think Pokemon Home is a give in. They said it'd be coming out sometime early this year after Sword & Shield's release, so now would be the perfect time to properly announce it. It'll probably he revealed to be where the GTS is, and I swear if they haven't fixed it in any way from the last three games I'm gonna ****ing scream.

Seriously, why the **** can't we trade Legendary Pokemon for Mythical Pokemon? I know they're special, but if you ask me if someone is willing to trade away a goddamn Mew or Deoxys for a Pidgey, they deserve to lose it. Also why the hell can we not trade Mythical Pokemon whatsoever, but we can still REQUEST Mythical Pokemon for our trades? Why the hell are you allowed to ask for Legendary Pokemon at level 1-9 when most Legendaries can usually only be found at around level 50? Is it so ****ing hard to just prevent people to ask for Legendaries as a specific level? And why the hell can't you filter searches for Pokemon with a certain nature? They've done so much to make competitive more accessable, yet you can't go out of your way to search for Pokemon by nature on the GTS?

Pokemon Sleep is stupid, so I have no idea as to whether it'll be discussed here or just be vaporware. I'm guessing it would most likely be there since stupid products seems to be their forte as of late. I don't know if you can tell, but I have very little faith in this Direct being any good. I'd love to be wrong, though.

Also, just to piss of absolutely everyone, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon gacha game that requires you to spend money to make any significant progress.

Now, for something totaly different, I hope we get a new Ranger game at the Pokemon direct. I love those games, and not having any after Guardian Signs was a mistake from the Pokemon company.

We'll never get another Pokemon Rangers game, who the hell are you kidding? They've mostly moved to mobile-only for spinoff games anyways, so even if we do somehow get a new Pokemon Rangers game, it'll be the same predatory gacha **** Nintendo is doing with Mario on mobile, only worse since TPC is greed incarnate. I'd advise you to put down the Monkey's Paw there before you utterly wreck everything, you fool.

It's not going to be Diamon & Pearl remake. Sword & Shield just came out like 3 or 4 months ago. That would be too quick of a turn around.

This. I not only have no idea why people think Diamond & Pearl remakes are coming next, I have no idea why people WANT Diamond & Pearl remakes after how bad Sword and Shield were. You really want remakes of those games using the Sword & Shield engine? You want to see Gigantimax Arceus for this one game before getting removed from the next games in favor of a new crap gimmick? Also, Ultra SuMo were released almost exactly one year after Sun & Moon, so they clearly don't care too much about cannibalizing their own game's sales.

I honestly hope that it's a SwSh Pokemon as the Fifth Fighter so the Fighters Pass could end on a marketing character for one of the most controversial Pokemon games to come out.

I've been warning people for months about this and it's part of the reason I'm invested in my triple reveal prediction because people are going to be ****in' livid by the time 5 is finally announced. Expectations were already through the roof in NOVEMBER and Nintendo's going to have a big ass problem if they don't buffer/damage control that **** like crazy.

I did, but my point was people knew what to expect and had something to look forward to more specifically. There was a vague promise of a Fighter #5 that seemed more tangible on the horizon with a potential The Game Awards reveal or even sooner, thus people were much more calm and patient about things. People only really started getting antsy post Terry, so that's generally the period of time to consider more so.

What makes you think next week and not next month?

O I have no real reason. I just think that the first party lineup is rather bare at the moment. We don't even know "smaller" titles/ timegap ports for the beginning of the year. I think the BIG 3 ( MP4, Bayo 3, BOTW2 ) are all post E3, if 2020 at all. We don't have a Yoshi tier game etc anywhere on the radar. Animal Crossing might be the only direct left this month thinking about it as its the only concrete date we have. Last Jan we just got a Nintendo Tweet Direct over the course of a week or so. Watch them start with the SNES/NES new games this evening. Although at this point I could also see a standalone Smash Direct also. Just my own thoughts.

As to the idea of a triple reveal I'd totally buy that if we get a standalone smash direct. I feel like ultimate has been great about buffering "bad news". Leaked castlevania? heres KROOL too. Kencineroar and box theory? Have a plant....er I mean a Fighter Pass. Dragonquest not your cup of tea? Have a freaking BEAR AND BIRD. If 5 is a not so spicy take, Sakurai will just unload 6,7, and Subspace Emissary 2 at the same time.

I suppose this would be more in the eye of the beholder, however, I was NOT impressed with any of the Gen 8 starters. The drum monkey is a pretty clunky design for a fighting game, the rabbit soccer player is meh, and the Gex knockoff is uncomfortably bony-looking. If they're your thing, all power to you, but I actually found many of the designs to be fairly uninspired. I suppose Galarian Zigzagoon or Sirfetchd don't look too bad but other than them, yeah, not impressed.

I'm honestly 99.999% sure that we'll get at least a double reveal with the next Smash update along with a formal announcement of fighter pass #2. As for a triple reveal, it would be freaking amazing, however, I'm HIGHLY doubtful we'd get one. Aside from the Kencineroar direct, when else have we ever had three reveals in one sitting? It's incredibly rare and so far unheard of with this current DLC cycle (not counting Plant since it was more of a late base roster inclusion). Could it happen? Sure, but don't get your hopes up.

If it is dragonborn as you have been hinting at, then they have to announce 1 or 2 others with it. Dragonborn will upset a ton of people. Yes they are popular but skyrim is old and so over done many people are sick of the series, plus people feel doomguy is a lot more important and popular inthe gameing history.
