Done on my end, so you know.Remember that including a lot of embedded videos slows the page down, so it might be best to put some of your wanted songs as links instead.
I remembered I made some Lyrics for that song, God, Shimomura-san I just love you.SMRPG has a lot of great tracks to choose from, one track I really hope they add is Seaside Town's after defeating Yaridovich. You likely barely hear it in game, but it's great. Other than that, I'm really hoping for Booster Tower (both parts, and if not, just the second), Nimbus Land, and Monstro Town. (Aside from the Battle themes and the Forest music, anyway).
Also, kind of a stretch, but I recall it being mentioned before, and I'd love if they somehow could get music from other Mario RPGs, such as Paper Mario or Mario & Luigi. I mean, Paper Mario 64 has nothing in the game (T_T), so it'd be a great opportunity.
I just hope one of them is Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition... could be just an initial announcement since Xenoblade 1 Definitive Edition has to be like 75% done at this pointI don't think Nintendo cares. These are the same guys that announced BotW2 and Banjo in the same presentation and, based on what I've heard, Smash might not even have the biggest announcements of the Direct. Remember my 7 Remaster/Remakes rumor? One of them is hardcore implied to be coming in the January Direct and it's the biggest deal of the 7. Like I said, it's going to be a hellavu day if these things turn out to be true.
To be honest, I don’t think there would be any problem. Yoko certainly won’t have a problem with it since she’s already remixed and has her own compositions in Smash already, and seeing how Square Enix has treated the game in the past 20 years I don’t think they care that much since it’s not a property they own, only the characters and music. And who knows maybe Nintendo bought the rights to use stuff already.I don't know when I'll play Super Mario RPG. I have a huge backlog, but I've mentioned more than a few times that I have a SNES Classic I can play it on.
Maybe if Geno gets announced as a playable character that'll be my push. I've listened to a few of the music tracks from the game and they sound nice! They seem to be ripe for a remastering and/or remixes though. My hope is that since Yoko isn't stingy AND that Super Mario RPG wouldn't (presumably) have rights hell like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest music, that we would get some good remixes.
That's really what I lean towards at least. I think if Geno gets in, the amount of music will show just how much Square is willing to give. Yes, as people now know, Square isn't as much of a stickler to work with as people first thought (reminder that Sakurai managed to get Square to break their rule regarding the Dragon Quest heroes). The reason why we, unfortunately, have small amounts of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest content is due to the complicated rights those series have. But Super Mario RPG... the rights to that go to Nintendo mostly, with the game's original characters going to Square.
As such, I really don't think there would be any foreseeable problem, right? I mean, I don't think Yoko owns the music even (because Nintendo doesn't have complicated licensing with their games *cough cough* Square Enix), so I don't see music being a problem. I doubt we would get a bunch of Spirits (because I don't think Geno will get a Spirit board), but if he comes with a stage, I really don't see why a good amount of music wouldn't come with it. Unless Square actually is somewhat of a stickler (but again... I think Nintendo may own the music anyway). If Geno doesn't come with a stage (which I sort of think will happen), I then see no reason why he wouldn't get one or two remixes with him based off of the logic I said before.
*helps*I'm now done with two of the eight sections and it's already about 5 pages long... Help...

This one doesn't even need a remix, much like VS Mr. Patch.Oh come on, guys!
You all know you can't forget this one!

Of course. Having all the Nintendo rumors come true in one Direct would be insane but virtually impossible which is why, if certain rumors are true, I can see them being fulfilled between the January Direct and probably... well... ****... next fall. Some of the rumors seem like really obvious E3 announcements like, for example, the supposed 3D Mario so, no, I don't think the January Direct will have absolutely everything. At most I expect two of the remake/remasters announced with one (da big one) more likely then the other. Is it possible any of the stuff you heard will end up at e3 as opposed to the direct?
That’s the thing, though: They said that after the 1/2/3 thing. The big 64 reveal, while certainly being a game tied to Nintendo, was announced... for multiple platforms, not just Switch. Personally, I don’t count that as a big thing specifically for Nintendo fans.I don’t think the “Surprises for Nintendo fans” was for smash. I think it was just a tease for 1,2,3 and 64 going to the Switch. Although, I do disagree on the Doom content without a character. Being how big Doom really is as a franchise, I don’t think they would relegate it to a mii costume or something smaller. It really was revolutionary for the genre, even somewhat creating what the genre is today, and Doom (2017) really opened up a lot of eyes for third parties seeing how it was really successful and actually being possible on a portable system. However, I could be wrong seeing how Resident Evil got just spirits.
Nindies and Nintendo Directs are, on average, about three weeks apart so, all things considered, this is yet another factor that points at a Direct the first full week of January.Wait, about Nintendo Directs, don't regular Directs that aren't specialized come a month after a month with an indie Direct? Just wondering, in case we are still talking about Directs here.
Okay, just checking to make sure you had not missed that detail.Nindies and Nintendo Directs are, on average, about three weeks apart so, all things considered, this is yet another factor that points at a Direct the first full week of January.
So, close to the Splatoon 2 update of January 6... hmm..Nindies and Nintendo Directs are, on average, about three weeks apart so, all things considered, this is yet another factor that points at a Direct the first full week of January.
I can agree with that. Funnily enough, Doom 64 was leaked for PS4 and PC before being announced for Switch. For Monster Hunter, it’s definitely weird. Monster Hunter did have representation back in Smash 4 with the mii costumes. For Doom, it’s from a genre that’s never been represented in Smash at all yet. You think they would save Doom for a brand new genre to be introduced since (almost) everyone in the Fighter’s Pass has been from different genres. And for the surprises for Nintendo fans, we don’t really know what they could mean. Again, this is just speculation and I could be completely wrong when 5 is announced. That’s the thing, though: They said that after the 1/2/3 thing. The big 64 reveal, while certainly being a game tied to Nintendo, was announced... for multiple platforms, not just Switch. Personally, I don’t count that as a big thing specifically for Nintendo fans.
And as for notability, well, look at Monster Hunter. One of the most massive games in Japan, appeared to be perfectly lined up for a character... didn’t get one, instead they got different kinds of representation. RE is another big example, as you said.
Character or not, I expect Doom to get some kind of representation by the end of next year, though.
It would be odd to me that they’d send Doom to Mii Costume hell when they didn’t do it SMT, Metal Slug,With the exception of Banjo, the new mii costumes we've gotten are somewhat directly related to the fighter they came with.
The new costumes that came with Joker are from Persona only. We didn't get any SMT costumes like Jack Frost when we easily could've.
The new costumes that came with Hero are strictly from Dragon Quest.
The new costumes that came with Terry are characters that appeared in KoF with him. Marco/Metal Slug characters were an obvious Mii Gunner outfit but didn't happen.
Skyrim has enough options itself to give us 10+ mii costumes. Plus we haven't had more than six costumes per wave so I find it hard to imagine that we use two for Doom (because if Doom gets mii costume'd then the Cacodemon would come with a Doom guy outfit obviously). Which leaves four spots for Skyrim and returning costumes.
I also think they would still need to consult with ID Software for the mii costumes too. Just another layer of work for two costumes.
But of course I could be wrong and this isn't really a pattern. I mean Terry's costumes are from different series even though they're all KoF costumes. I just don't think they would Mii Gunner Doom if they didn't Mii Gunner Metal Slug. Just my two cents.
Exactly what I was thinking. Here’s what I said in the Doom thread about the pattern of mii costumes in relation to Cacomallow
It would be odd to me that they’d send Doom to Mii Costume hell when they didn’t do it SMT, Metal Slug,
or any other Microsoft/Rare property. They seem to be avoiding making big franchises mii costumes.

If you need any help with editing or condensation or anything, let me know. I'd be happy to help!I'm now done with two of the eight sections and it's already about 5 pages long... Help...
Since your write-up about Geno is going to be so lengthy, are you just going to post a Google Doc link or something?I'm now done with two of the eight sections and it's already about 5 pages long... Help...
I can only imagine the legal process behind making that happen. Then again, maybe adding some Square property could be a way to freshen up the series. We did have Final Fantasy characters in Mario Hoops 3-on-3 and Mario Sports Mix, so it could sorta work in universe.I think Geno should be in the Mario and Sonic series.
Think of it like this... Holy Crap! 6 is CD-I Link but, for some weird reason, he comes with a Hotel Mario stage, music, and 4 Hotel Mario Mii costumes for some weird reason. That sort of ****ery.
While I don't dislike the idea of a travelling stage to represent SMRPG, that'd also undeniably be an unfathomable amount of work to model out the entire world of SMRPG (for the first time, mind you), along with implementing all those hazards and background cameos. I, personally, am partial to the idea of a Bowser's Keep stage with Exor falling from the sky and bisecting the stage occasionally, mainly because I made a custom stage around it once.Okay, just checking to make sure you had not missed that detail.
Say, everyone, about stages, how about as a fighting stage for Geno in Smash Bros. Ultimate, we get the overworld as a stage?
It would work like this. There is a platform the Smashers fight on, like in the Delfino Island stage in Smash. As the fighters fight, the world map is in the background. After some time, going clockwise around the map, the platform goes into and stops temporarily in one of seven locations: The Mushroom Kingdom, the Forest Maze, Booster's Tower, Star Hill, Monstro Town, Nimbus Land and then either Bowser's Keep or in the Weapons Factory. What do you all think of this idea?
EDIT: Oh, and I forgot, there may be obstacles and hazards like Bowyer, Valentina, Booster and his Snifts, Mack, Belome at Monstro town and maybe Smithy himself!
I do have this, I'll grab it and send it over shortlyKCCHIEFS27 Remember that giant list of coincidences and odd happenings since 2015? Do you still have that? I wanted that to be one of the sections of the essay but you summarized that post about a billion years ago.
