To be frank, I don't know. The belief that some of my contacts have is that if Cacodemon is real, it's not coming with Doom Guy but another character. Smash Ultimate currently has 11 unfilled dummy slots so, under the best of circumstances, DLC could last another two years. In that time span, Doom Guy could find his way in but, again, to not insult your intelligence, I don't think it would be "Season 2", I think it would be "Season 3" at the earliest, which are also my thoughts on Sora and Travis. So, to be truthful with you based on what I've heard, if Doom Guy's coming it's not going to be for awhile. If I'm wrong, definitely take it as a victory and be well aware of what I hear and speculate isn't definitive by any means. Remember, literally everyone was wrong about the VGAs and this could be a similar case.

Goichi Suda himself has said Travis wasn't going to be in Smash twice now, once last December and shortly after E3 this year. Not a name that has come up either so my confidence in him coming anytime soon isn't particularly high.

Well... One of my contacts shared a chart with me that more or less provides significant evidence that new Amiibo waves and characters always release in the same month.

That said, it suggests that 5 will be announced and released in the same month so, uh, January.

I've come to accept that nothing will be announced for the remainder of December, and I see those specific cells are speculated dates, buuuuut... what if the mad lads pull a fast one and announce a Nintendo Direct for the 24th (evening), of 31st (morning)?! Based on the chart I posted, the fighters and Amiibo will be about 11 days standard deviation (rounding up). If the Amiibo are coming out on the 17th, this suggests a reasonable time frame would be between January 6th and January 28th. Based on Banjo's and Terry's release, it suggests that between January 6th and January 9th is when the Direct would happen because Directs and the Amiibo releases have never happened during the same week.

Possibly. Here are my current thoughts on Dante summarized:

-Dante in Smash and several DMC games for Switch rumors came out during the early summer around the same time. Since then, all the game rumors have come true including the DMC Collection. In early November, however, the NoA ambassador said they believed that Dante was potentially leakbait/a red herring and, asking around, confidence wasn't super high. Right now, there are 4 "floating" Smash 4 costumes from Capcom: Megaman X, Megaman EXE, Rathalos, and Monster Hunter. I personally believe that, based on this, another Capcom character is eventually coming and will bring the two Megaman costumes with them. My personal theory is that it will come down to either Dante or Phoenix Wright and the timeframe will be E3 2020 at the earliest.

Thank you for responding hope he does get in because I want too see it. But if it's Pheonix Wright ether is a win for me. Thanks for the response and thanks for sharing all this information!

It's possible like anything else but I've highlighted my thoughts since September that I was always heavily leaning towards a sword character, later supported by the Power of Six Theory and later supported by all my contacts and even S*** and V****. Based on this, even outside of insider info, it's strongly pointing to a sword character from a particular company that shares similarities to it's likely Smash 4 Mii costume pair, Rathalos and Monster Hunter. As always, we could all be hard jebaited but we'll see what happens.

I feel like that is a general thing considering the dislike of Disney crosses all barriers. I don't think the Geno fanbase wouldn't take it as hard as some people would expect, considering the nature of Sora.

They took my love for Marvel and used it as a weapon to hate on me and make me look like an idiot.

So, the costume that should have been released with Hero was held off to see how a costume that was going to release with Banjo does, sales-wise? That's a stretch, if I'm being honest.

I feel like I'm going to have to type this until my fingers break: There is nothing special about Sans. He isn't some kind of "premium" or "perfectly representative" costume - as a bobble headed skeleton man, he fits the Mii aesthetic well and people like it because even the biggest fan of the character knows he's a meme and expected absolutely nothing. Black Knight is an excellent example of a costume that is essentially as perfect of a character analogue as Sans, but no one likes him because people have wanted Black Knight since Ike got into the game. Is it because he came with music that people assume there's something special about him? If that's all it takes, then the argument shouldn't be that Geno's going to get a full "mask" like that somehow makes the Mii costume sting less, the argument should be that he would have come with Hero and also come with music. Even if there were plans to give him a "mask" instead of the hat, it probably takes a handful of hours to get a Mii accessory ready to go for public consumption, there's no reason such a thing wouldn't have come with Hero. That's the hangup - the costume is missing and there's not much of a "bad news" reason that can't be explained away, aside from...

Which is a fair point, as the only argument against this is that Square's costumes have exclusively come with Square's characters. Assuming that Square's not a stickler for having their properties come with their properties, Geno's costume could very well appear with another Mario character, another gun based character, or another character similar to Banjo in which Mii costumes aren't worth trying to acquire or aren't possible to acquire. But, I'm sure no one in this thread has to be convinced to be nervous when the Mii costume showcase starts rolling regardless of the character.

The Sans costume wasn't released until this Fall. The decision to not package the Geno and Chocobo costumes in with Hero would have had to come in late Spring at the latest.

Just because something is possible doesn't mean that it's probable. It's more than likely that if the Smash 4 costumes are returning they'll return as-is as that's what happened with all the other ones. Also what exactly is a "Sans-level Mii Costume"? Considering the other SE costumes have always tied into a SE character release it makes more sense for them to keep on doing that with the possibility that it's a request from SE themselves. The songs were the only really significant thing and that likely is due to Sakurai personally meeting Toby Fox and making a special deal for some very specific Undertale content. The odds of SE of all companies approving a 2 dollar mii costume with music when they've only ever attached 2 pieces of music with 5 dollar character packs is almost none.
