Anyways, I got my hopes set for chief somehow making it in by a miracle tonight since it's obvious geno isn't coming yet. He's the best one when it comes to demand out of the big three candidates so far.

Boshi as a Yoshi echo fighter would be so cool. Make him faster (because he's the fastest Yoshi on Yo'ster Isle, after all) and stronger (having exposed claws instead of shoes has to hurt) and then counterbalance that by removing the super-armor on his double jump, and maybe making Up-B worse for recovering.

I just want a place to relax and talk about Geno in. Everywhere I go people **** on Geno except here even my friend group ****s on him constantly and it annoys me which is why I have kept my Smashboards account active so I can have somewhere to talk about Geno and enjoy myself I don't want lies, Drama, ****ty behavior or otherwise I just wanted a simple place where I can unwind and talk about Geno in but I guess it's not that simple this isn't even calling out explicitly outside people who come in and **** on Geno every other day but there's some people here who I just can't bring myself to agree with and I myself don't trust 99% of what Fatman says and y'know what? That's okay as his track-record is messed up and you should be skeptical on what he says since he's not even an insider as he tries and tries to make that clear but people always ignore that.

He's simply a guy speculating on what rumors he hears be it truthful or false which is why his "track-record" is all kinds of messed up he tries to fill in the bits and pieces left from what rumors he hears about. He's not some higher-figure manipulating the entirety of this thread and everyone he knows he's just a guy with a really bad track-record surrounded by people who take his word a little bit too seriously and personal.

I'm sick and tired of it and that's coming from someone who doesn't believe what Fatman says as I said previously. I just want a place to relax in and talk about Geno man everywhere else on the internet ****s on him every chance they get. Please can we just talk about Geno and clean up our behavior for once? Both sides need to chill out, Fatman should be more clear and transparent on what is a leak and what is speculation as people confuse those two alongside quite a few other things, The Geno thread needs to chill out and stop taking his word so seriously like it's the end all be all and that he's some higher authority and people need to learn to leave us alone and just let us talk about Geno this is one of the few places where we can talk about Geno without getting steamrolled and **** on for it.

Steve would legitimately upset me. After everything I was put through for an entire year with Steveposters raiding Discords and raiding Smashboards it's completely ruined Steve being in Smash for me, and I never want him in; I don't want them to have the satisfaction of even getting a Mii Costume

Imagine being a Banjo and Steve fan having to deal with people from both sides being fricks to each other, even though most Steve fans didn't mind Banjo or didn't harass his fans and they hate the Grotesque Steve render as well and some Banjo fans crapped on even polite Steve fans.

Please don't pretend they were some big Steve fan group bashing other characters. They weren't, they were idiotic trolls and a small minority at that. If you want a big, polite Steve fan group, look at SteveForSmash on Twitter and their followers (sometimes they've joked about Grotesque Steve, but they really do hate that render and the trolls as much as everyone else does). Be warned, though, there is a stupid Grotesque Steve for Smash twitter run by some trolls, but you can tell they're not Steve fans because their header includes rude art of a lot of characters being salty, including the real Steve.

Also, I honestly don't see why a stupid, unofficial, imposter-like render would ruin the real Steve for people. They're completely separate and that's like saying I should let all of the rude Banjo fans ruin Banjo for me.

Life is pain, and so is the internet. I too would call into question the integrity of a person who, for all intents and purposes, appears to be coming in for no other reason than to stir up the drama that we thought we'd put to bed not minutes earlier. DMK is already an alt skin, but... Gooigi? Man, how you gonna call Gooigi a bad choice for an echo. He's GOOEY. They couldn't possibly make him a lazy copy/paste job, it wouldn't make sense. At the very least he'd probably be lighter or something, since he's made out of goo.

Boshi is definitely the best choice for an echo to package with Geno though, you're 100% right.

Sakurai is a pretty huge stickler for getting characters accurately portrayed, so I can't imagine Gooigi would have NO reference to his gooey nature. There are hundreds of ways you could implement it, too. Change his down B to melting into the floor or something, give him a passive resistance to swords/spears/things goo could pass through, etc.

Hello everyone,

The staff has been going in and addressing the issues, problems, and content of this thread within the past couple hours. We apologize for this delay but we want to make sure every concern and issue is taken care of properly and within the TOS.

I do want to take this time to address this thread:

1) This is a Character Support thread. It’s not a Social thread. It’s understandable that some may treat it like one but the core discussion should be centered around Geno and SMRPG. Going into tangents about “what kind of pasta do you like” you is full-on spam.

2) Coming into a support thread to troll/flame/harass/belittle/etc is 101% not permitted. This is a zero tolerance policy issue for the site and we will warn any users attempting to do so.

3) This also goes for people replying to users coming to troll the fan base. We understand you strongly support this character but replying with equal amounts of hostility and aggression is not the right way to go about it. You can Report it to the mods (most recommended option), put the user on Ignore, or simply move past it and not respond.

4) Smashboards is a site focused on Smash Bros., and while we may disagree with character inclusions, we are all unified with our love for the series, for nintendo, and for video games. Please do not try to divide this community by calling other thread regulars “toxic” or “trolls”. This does nothing but hurt the community we have created and sows division and hatred with it. I personally do not permit this and will address it if I see it.

5) The biggest part: I previously mentioned to not import drama from off-site issues into Smashboards. I felt the involved parties understood and I was leninent as it was important to this thread. I was obviously mistaken and my leniency helped create this mess. So let me re-address this issue:

Henceforth, all drama involving Sabi and other insiders/leakers and this community will not be allowed. The site is not to be used to address problems with Sabi and their group. Posting discord messages, twitter messages, or whatnot will be removed. As we saw, this only causes issues for this site, it’s users, and the thread. I understand one may feel justified in bringing to light injustice brought in by Sabi and their group but the site will not longer be permitting this. This is not because the site agrees/sides with Sabi and their group but because we recognized how detrimental this issue is to the site. If you want to talk about this whole issue, please use another media platform other than Smashboards. That’s where it originated, please keep it there.

6) Lastly, I have noticed people saying Geno speculation discussion is stagnant. I agree. Why not host Geno fan art contests?
Post stages resembling Geno and SSMRPG locations.
Create Alt costumes of Geno.
Host Move Set contests.
Talk about Spirit Battle ideas.
Potential match ups for Geno.
Music you want to see Remixed.
Which pro player may pick up Geno.
Potential frame data discussion .
Create Alt color stock icons
Create graphics for the thread

Those are just ideas that I had at the moment.

Last) What transpired here nearly broke every rule we have in our TOS and has taken the staff a considerable amount of time and energy to address each issue. When the thread does open, I ask that you behave properly, report any problematic posts, avoid using this thread as a social, and to avoid discussing issues with Sabi. If this happens again, there is a chance the thread will remain closed indefinitely so please take this issue seriously.

The staff has decided to keep this thread closed throughout the duration of the TGA show. That is incredibly fair. So to get a jump start on things, with no Smash announcement at the VGA's, I think it is safe to assume the next Direct could start with Fighter 5 (Perhaps a release the same day) and a mention of the next DLC with a possible reveal of the first Post Fighter.

If that is the case, I hope it is Geno, because that would be a pretty good indicator for what Post Pass will look like.

I do happen to agree, Geno is a cool character with a great design, great moveset potential, legacy, and music potential and would make a great addition

As far as I'm aware, we still don't have any real evidence as to who fighter #5 is. The bad news is that I'm fairly confident that Geno WON'T be fighter 5, however, I am pretty confident that he will be among the first 2 or 3 of the next fighters pass. Also, when we do get a direct, chances will be very high that we get at least a double reveal.
