Has no one considered that Nintendo might possibly want the fighters pass to be complete for the Christmas rush? They announce fighter 5 (DOOM) at the game awards and to everyone’s surprise, fighter 5 is available... after the show. They then tease the first stand-alone DLC fighter (♪!?) at the end of the show, once Ultimate wins game of the year of course.

No that's not going to happen. For one, they're not going to release the character immediately at the Game Awards since they need to have a show case so that people can understand how the character plays. So if there is a reveal it would just show off the character and then release a month or two later. It's extremely unrealistic to think a fighter is dropping right after the Game Awards, let alone showing two character.

Edit: Fatmanonice should I go ahead and tell the Shantae thread about this? They would be interested to hear this news especially if papagenos was hearing about it too. It would be hysterical if, after people asking for Smash reveals at Nindies events has basically become a meme, they actually did one. It’ll never happen but it’d be great.

Synaptic Drive being published by Nintendo and rebranded as a Custom Robo game (because that’s what it is lol)

honestly spatulo took the words right out of my mouth. There are 3 things I'm hopping this might be.

1. mario rpgs are being continued under a new studio nintendo has partnered with
2. a new f-zero game (the fast racing neo guys seem like a good start)
3. nintendo decides to work with nakamura to reboot custom robo and synaptic drive gets a makeover.

I think it's also good to note it might be related to the series that got a new trademark made for them explicitly for a new switch game. golden sun is obviously off the table since that's camelot's thing but there were others like sin and punishment could be very interesting.

Figured you'd be the one to join me on this, luckily toby is going to be far to busy with his own project to do much of anything so I'm not deeply worried.
