What do i do then? Anti characters threads ars not allowed in this page, i should just shut up and not express my opinion over a character because people wants to keep this as a positive echo chamber?

As a general rule, going to a character support thread exclusively to bash the character that the thread is supporting, and using points that have been brought up countless times, isn't the best way to introduce yourself. It's like going into a Ridley thread (before his inclusion in Smash Ultimate) and saying that he shouldn't be playable in Smash because he's too big, or going into a Sora thread and saying that he'll never make it into Smash because he's owned by Disney.

It helps if you're willing to keep an open mind about this sort of thing, as opposed to being uniformly negative about the character - word choice is important. (for example, asking why people want Geno in the game, as opposed to immediately saying that adding Geno would be a horrible idea)

Banjo is his own franchise, Smash wouldn't exist if it wasn't for SNK because i've read that KoF inspired Sakurai, those things are faaar bigger than one game from over 20 years.

It does not matter if Banjo has his own franchise. Banjo is a character for the hardcore Smash fanbase. A character that older hardcore Nintendo fans associate and would not make the Smash fanbase any bigger. He appeals to those that already bought the game and Nintendo knows that. Adding Master Chief would make much more money, more influential, get so much publicity and same thing with Steve but they went with Banjo. It certainly does the opposite of benefitting Nintendo telling your consumers to play a competitors console.

Personally, I'd like sora to be disconfirmed for the sake of my own sanity. It'd be the absolute biggest middle finger to have very conspicuously held off on geno's mii costume just to package him in with sora later.

Yes THANK YOU! This is the only real issue I have with Sora now, personal feelings about him aside. I just dont want them to put a deluxe Geno costume with him. This is all I meant to say the other day. If they dont do that, then I'm more than happy for all folks that want Sora, including offline friends.

And even though I inquired about it the other day, and the explanations for why Sora wouldnt have a bearing on Geno made sense, this possible scenario still makes me simultaneously angry and depressed. A giant middle finger is nearly an understatement.

I personally dont think Sora is 5 (I agree with Fatman if he comes its later, and well after Geno). Even then I, dont see how anyone who wants Geno, regardless of how one feels about Sora, couldn't at least be somewhat unnerved by it. I'd like em both to satisfy the most people, but I have my loyalty to the character I love.

All this to say, I understand where folks like SSGuy are coming from (even if emotions got the better of him, which I dont believe so, though I suppose he could've worded things differently).

Actually, Frogfucius told the crew to collect the Stars a good while before Geno appeared, they would at least keep doing that even if they never meet Geno.

Nah, that's also a fabrication. Went and looked into it to be absolutely sure. Frogfucius tells Mario that Peach is not at Bowser's Keep because both Bowser and the princess were launched away as well. Mallow mentions the star, and Frogfucius says that he believes shooting stars grant wishes and may be connected. If you ask him to recap what he just explained, he'll say the shooting stars are likely connected to this. He then requests Mario find Mallow's real parents, and tells them both to go to Rose Town, where they need help. He knows these things because the information comes to him via the water - which I always assumed meant the tadpoles travel and bring him news.

Until Geno took the form of the doll, no one in the entire world would have known the Star Road was broken.

Honestly, it's just of those things you either get or you don't. Not everything is Green Eggs and Ham, "trying" to understand doesn't mean you ever will. It's not that it's esoteric, it's just that people have different experiences and different things have different values to people. It's just that. Personally, I don't get the appeal of Daisy but I largely just roll with it. It's just whatever.

Heaven knows I've had plenty of people come after me and tell me my art 'isn't good enough', and then follow up with something that makes it clear that what they really mean is 'your art isn't like most people's/doesn't follow the rules and that's why it isn't valid'.

I dunno. It's like food, you can't force yourself to like something that you don't like. I hate beets, always have. They're my mom's favorite vegetable so I usually give it another go every 4 or 5 years. Hate them each and every single time, no matter how they're prepared. My wife's the same with pumpkin. I can only cook with it if she's totally gone for the night. Geno's the same. Geno's Ma Po with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and pumpkin bourbon cheesecake for dessert. Actually, he didn't. Frogfucius alluded to it, but he was vague enough to where Mario and Mallow probably wouldn't have taken it as seriously or at least wouldn't have understood it without Geno, plus they couldn't have actually used them without him. Geno may not speak as much as Mallow and whoever, but he has enough lines where you get to know the character and may like him, and saying he can easily be replaced by some other random character can technically be said about almost any character no matter how big their role is when talking story terms; just make up a new character that fits the role. We can replace Peach, we can replace Bowser...heck, we could replace Mario himself with Luigi or whoever.

The obvious stuff, like REmind being at Game Awards is akin to what made so many people speculate Ryu Hayabusa around this time last year, because Koei Tecmo "had an announcement" (that turned out to be Marvel). Nothing Persona got shown off last year and yet we still got Joker. Even if Hero was supposed to be Challenger Pack 1, we didn't get any Dragon Quest, either. I think expecting the unexpected is the healthier mindset, and Kingdom Hearts is a little too expected.
