One thing I can say I'm looking forward to is if we get more wholesome post-livestream Sakurai video content. I wish he had his own YouTube channel for such things.

She's 100% owned by Namco I thought. They just like Takahashi enough to loan her out to him. It's basically another Banjo situation, though less absurd as far as getting into Smash goes.Couldn't KOS-MOS still make sense with this talk? I mean, I can't say I know all the legal stuff around her, but she is also kinda Monolith Soft's character as well, right?
Thanks for the clarification. I will say, I would more compare her circumstance to what many of would wish for Geno. She's 100% owned by Namco I thought. I literally just woke up and this scared the soul out of me, Fatman please.
you're disconfirmed for lifeI literally just woke up and this scared the soul out of me, Fatman please.
It's win/win situation for me. But I would prefer Nightmare though.Kosmos or Nightmare. Either one would be cool but I would prefer Kosmos for the female representation
Absolute unit
Zasalamel! He’s awesome. Kilik is a close secondSo besides Nightmare, which Soul Calibur character would you guys want the most in Smash? For me it would be Yoshimitsu. Nightmare easily comes second for me.
That would be a really cool nod. Also proof that Nintendo is still looking back on SMRPG all these years later. I mean, has this card trait appeared in any other Mario games?Hey so not related to the current discussion but actually related to Geno, I started a new file on Luigi’s Mansion 3 and on the third floor you get four keys that are the playing card suits, and then the key to the boss’s room has a Star on it, just like the spell symbols on the 5 playable characters in Super Mario RPG. I don’t know if that was an intentional reference or not but I thought it was cool.
Kilik. I loved him as a kid and grew so attached I wouldn't even choose Link over him. Still my main in SC to this day. Mitsurigi is also one I enjoyed. Seong Mina would also be good. Setsuka or Zasalamael would also make my day. If I'm being honest Nightmare is probably one of the least exciting picks from the series for me.So besides Nightmare, which Soul Calibur character would you guys want the most in Smash? This is honestly a bummer in some ways as I don't see any way Joker can be topped on a purely reaction standpoint. People are going to be expecting a Smash reveal and their standards have been raised (or lowered?) on just who can make it in. Master Chief wouldn't be as surprising. There also won't be anymore rating plausible deniability because the second we see the e10 in the corner, people will know exactly what's going on. Basically the only way to catch people off guard is if it happens literally in the middle of an award being handed out or something. There was a problem fetching the tweet

Astaroth/King DededeNightmare means Soul Calibur spirits. Who you think would get a spirit and what would their battle be?
I think Zasalamel will get in and his battle will be black male Villager with the Death scythe. I would really like this irregardless, as Zas has been my main since SCIV
Cloud was planned to be the guest character in the PS2 version of Soul Calibur 2 originally instead of Hehaichi.Gotta side with Soul Caliber as the crossover king of Namco. Soul Caliber has:
-the Legend of Zelda
-Tekken
-Nier: Automata
-Xenogear
-Spawn
-Tales of
-STAR WARS
-God of War
-Assassin's Creed
-Samurai Showdown
-the Witcher
Supposedly Dante and Bayonetta were also planned characters in the series once but were ultimately cut.
It's a whole series vs a single character, which is where I think the "King/Queen" part gets murky.Gotta side with Soul Caliber as the crossover king of Namco. Soul Caliber has:

There are four playing card keys in the original Luigi’s Mansion but there’s no star, aside from that I can’t think of anything else it’d be referencingThat would be a really cool nod. Yoshimitsu appears in both Tekken and Soul Calibur so he technically is both a Tekken and Soul Calibur character. With all this talk about Soul Calibur, two questions came to my mind and that is 1: why does Yoshimitsu's design change so much? And 2: isn't he supposed to be a Tekken character?
Thanks, and about his design is it for a specific reason that they give him a new one in every single game?Yoshimitsu appears in both Tekken and Soul Calibur so he technically is both a Tekken and Soul Calibur character.
I’m gonna say Necrid from SCII, because he’s my all-time favorite in the series (want a unique moveset? He’s got like half the cast’s mixed together)So besides Nightmare, which Soul Calibur character would you guys want the most in Smash? For me it would be Yoshimitsu. I don’t know why the design changes every game, but I think Tekken Yoshimitsu is supposed to be a descendant of Soul Calibur YoshimitsuWith all this talk about Soul Calibur, two questions came to my mind and that is 1: why does Yoshimitsu's design change so much? I'm not sure exactly. Yoshimitsu is kind of like a samurai/ninja hibred so I guess they keep changing his design because of that? I don't know. Thanks, and about his design is it for a specific reason that they give him a new one in every single game?
I haven't played Tekken, but isn't it possible for Heihachi to have both his younger self as his default and his older self as a alt in Smash? If we get Heihachi I hope its Young Heihachi, mostly because he isn't often portrayed at that age anymore.
If Nightmare get's in, he will be the first 3rd party villain to make it into the roster.Nightmare's addition would also make it a new villain addition to the roster (of course he could also come with a Siegfried alt. skin... or maybe... echo...?).
I know Kazooie wouldn't be afraid. For some reason i feel like of all the characters from the fighters pass, Banjo would be pretty scared to meet Nightmare
Yeah I kind of went along with crowd thinking Llyod had a chance but I always thought in the back of my mind that he really didn't seem all that likely for FP5 and made more sense as post pass if he was going to be DLC. I think the theory that each company is new to Smash (Atlus being considered separate from Sega and Square being considered separate from Enix) actually makes a good bit of sense and is why I find Layton and Travis to be good possibilities for FP5 but who knows. I still have to admit that Monokuma sounds really freaking cool now but who knows how likely they are either. So long-time lurker, first time poster here, I've been thinking over in my head for the last few days on whether or not 5 would actually be Lloyd, and when I looked over what people have been thinking and saying it made way more sense in my head for him to be post-pass rather than number 5. Enjoy this crackpot theory/ramble.
For one, Lloyd had a Mii costume in Smash 4, pretty obviously due to the ballot, yet unlike pretty much every other DLC Mii Costume, he got NOTHING in the base game. Inklings, K.Rool, Chrom, and Isabelle are all playable, Zero, Akira, Knuckles, and Black Knight are all new assist trophies, Heihachi and Gil are part of Pac-Mans taunt, Protoman got into Mega Mans Final Smash, Monster Hunter got an entire boss fight, and even our boy Geno got one of the strongest and most unique spirit fights in the game. Every single other Smash 4 mii costume was from a character already in the game either as playable already, or as an Assist Trophy, part of a stage, or another characters moveset/Final Smash. Lloyd is the ONLY exception to this except for Jacky, who came with Akira. If Sakurai actually planned for Lloyd to be in the game, why would he be DLC? Namco was clearly ok with him being in Smash 4, they literally developed the game with Sora, so if he was actually in it's not like his rights would be hard to negotiate. Even if he was planned for base game and then pushed off into DLC, why would he be the LAST character in the original DLC plan? It just doesn't make sense.
Going back to the whole Power of 6 Mii Costume Theory, people assume that it helped Lloyd for Number 5, but why? The fact that Heihachi suspiciously didn't release with the fighting game costumes means that, according to the theory, it was moved to release with someone else, likely another Namco rep. But if Lloyd was planned for 5 why didn't they just plan the Heihachi costume to release with Lloyd in the first place? Because he wasn't planned. Based on what Fatman said about 6 and 7 likely being made with existing smash assets, and what Sabi is saying about Lloyd not being 5, in my mind It's extremely likely that Lloyd, and by proxy, Geno, are the fist 2 characters we actually get for post-pass DLC.
Yeah, she would just roast himI know Kazooie wouldn't be afraid.
