I'd just like to bring up that the only person who had legit information that pointed towards Benjo-Kazooie being a newcomer up until Shinobi said something hinting towards it on Resetera and the NoA person hinted at Banjo on Discord was papagenos . All other major leakers said Banjo was a no go and were all-in on Steve/Minecraft content until Shinobi said something and lots of merchandise began popping up. And then magically a day or so before the reveal Vergeben popped up to say he was """99% sure about Banjo""" still covering his *** in case it didn't pan out which likely was all just backpedaling from going in on Steve for months. PapaGenos had this information back in November. Yet no one took it seriously or thought Banjo was a lock enough to speculate or drop hints until weeks beforehand and none of those doing so were the "big name" leakers.

That’s true about PapaGenos. ResetEra and one insider just cast him aside.

Vergeben only heard Minecraft content, though, with just some people telling him Steve but he wasn’t 100% sure about them; he just saw it as possible. Minecraft content was the only thing he was 100% on regarding that, so hopefully we get a Minecraft mii costume at least since he started saying that not long after Banjo was negotiated for (according to that rumor, saying they negotiated for him in April).

Anyway, hopefully our Geno wait ends tomorrow. If nothing happens...I don’t know...

It was because of Papageno’s claims about a close source+ VR Plant being supportive of the idea about Banjo being in that I went all in with the idea of a dual reveal for DQ and Banjo at E3.

The problem I had to dealt with doh was Google Theory, which basically made DQ a taboo topic because of the Artorias bandwaggon which was going on back then.


But I am deeply confident that papagenos has some strong sources which include VR Plant. He even kept supporting Erdrick during the whole Google Theory drama, which makes me respect him even more.

What you guys think is worst, GameFaqs or 4chan? I think 4chan wins that contest just a tiny bit due to how 4chan users in the comments make discriminating remarks to the leaker, which is on a completely different level of wrong compared to most GameFaqs users who just love to see fan favorites deconfirmed.

/v/ is awful, but /m/ is relatively civil (not saying much, but still). It's pretty telling when it's actually easier to talk about games on /m/.

I'd have to wonder if EVO would be an event every Smash fan would be appropriately paying attention to to drop a big surprise like Geno, though maybe a date for a direct would be fine. Not to mention, it may be a little soon for another character reveal, unless it's a bonus character without a stage or something, so it doesn't go under the pass?

Speaking of which, how would you all feel if Geno did not come with a Mario RPG stage?

Said segment of the stage is... literally the worst stage in the entire game. Aside from maybe PAC-LAND.

Literally impossible to fight on and is the main reason I hate the stage.

Idk how others feel on this but...honestly lately I’ve been feeling, if we get geno next, I’m kinda hoping the final character is a first party Nintendo character and not someone from a third party....

Having all these third parties is neat and all, but it feels a bit odd to have every dlc be a third party character. There’s still some first party characters left that Nintendo could still use...


Now of course after geno gets in I won’t oppose whoever gets chosen, as after all i will have gotten two of my greatest wishes for smash then, banjo and geno, but I’d definitely hope it’s someone else who’s first party.

Yes. Every fighting game fan is there, let alone every Smash fan.

They are the final game on the final day.

Pools are easily hitting 30k viewers.

I would expect finals tomorrow, the day most people in the world have off.

This is Smash's biggest game since Melee. "Everyone is Here!"

Bayonetta and Cloud don't flood competitive. Hype is at it's all time high.

I got a lot of responses besides one not really related to my question so I'll rephrase it.what time does the event at evo start we believe might contain smash news before during or after? the picture on twitter shows the finals at 10pm est, but I've seen various other times both here and other sites that have said all sorts of things within about a 12 hour radius. In the remote possibility we get smash news and the remoter we straight up get a character trailer I want to be able to see it as it happens and not get spoiled by all the news blowup i'll wade through to get to the video feed like what happened with banjo sadly. So if its 1pm est or 3pm or 10 or whatever I don't want to get passed over, especially if it's one of the earlier times because I have work tomorrow and the opportunity to watch part of a stream will be extremely limited.
