Update #2
Yes!
It's that time of year again! You know what time? THAT TIME! Soon, the summer sun will be hitting California, and it will be ROAD TRIP TIME! And what better idea for a road trip than taking a drive across SCENIC CALIFORNIA for the most-hyped Smash tournament this year?
GENESIS 2 Bus!
July 14th - July 18th
Alright, so here's the low-down on the information.
2 years ago I set-up the bus and everything was HUNKY-DORY. Great times, cheap services, and all that jazz.
You can find the information
here.
This time, expect some more where it counts, and expect some less where it doesn't.
WHAT MORE CAN YOU EXPECT?
For the Genesis Bus this time, we'll have a top-of-the-line set-up. 2008 model charter bus, with TVs, restroom, and a nice bus driver that will let us watch whatever, bump whatever, maybe even play whatever (on-Bus tourney [NOT SMASH] to be determined.)
And because I reserved more doubles ahead of time with a special "The-Ramada-Inn-Love-Oats'-Business" Discount, if you book rooms through the bus, you'll save money and you'll have a room reserved just for bus riders (and any other people you'd like to let in.)
WHAT LESS CAN I EXPECT?
Less Stops. Less Time Traveling.
The Bus will be making only three stops. San Diego (Havok's House), Anaheim, Downtown L.A., and then Antioch (Genesis!)
Also, less on spending. Times are hard for any body out there WANTING TO DRIVE. Especially with gas prices predicted to rise over the next couple months (I could care less, I have stock in BP [$ _$] ). So not only did I get my bus quote EARLY, meaning the price for the bus will not change, that means I got it according to gas prices as they were when I ordered the bus. Meaning...
Taking the bus, may just mean cheaper travel for you (if you're from Southern California) and less stress (you're not driving nor worrying about putting miles on your car).
There were a couple of hits though. Specialized, or discreet hotel arrangements were sacrificed in order to make some amenities possible. Sorry to the people that wanted rooms to themselves.
So How Much Will it Cost Me?
I've gone an extra length to detail exactly how much it will cost you according to the following conditions. The idea is I believe in transparency and this is a community effort. I'm going to tell you exactly what you're going to get and I'll listen to see what the people want and make a judgment call from there.
Condition 1: Bus + Hotel
This is the cost, as of right now, with reserved hotel room for bus riders, and a bus ticket.
$178.58
Condition 2: Bus Only
This is for no hotel room reservations. Just a simple bus ticket, and you guys fend for yourselves on housing / hotel room accomodations (GOOD LUCK!)
$111.11
Condition 3: Bus Only + Fundraising Goal of $1000
This is where things get interesting. I made a promise that this year's bus would be cheaper than two year's ago. Well I mean to keep my word. I hope to fundraise $1000 to cover bus expenses in order to make the whole experience cheaper. And if I hit my goal (with some help) this is how much it will cost.
$88.89
Condition 4: Bus Only + Hotel Fundraising Goal of $1000
And with the hotel and the fundraising goal.
$156.36
So How Do I Get My Spot?
Later on this week, I'm going to set-up the same paypal account I used for two years ago.
There will be a "bill pay" option or an all-at-once.
Bill pay people risk losing their seats (but will get their money back) and all-at-once have priority on seating arrangements.
There is a lot of HYPE regarding this bus and I don't know how fast seats will be sold once I drop the bomb.
But expect it this week.
Questions, Suggestions, Comments?
What'd I miss?
