★ Now your talking. =D ♛
★ Ice levels are either beautiful to look at, or just have a crazy gimmick that are fun, (example SBM3 6-10). Over all, I just like Ice or snow levels on almost any game. <3 ♛
I love playing on World 6-3 of the original Super Mario Bros., all because it has a white pallet to imitate snow xD
I'm playing Super Mario Bros. 3 atm though. Big Land is so appealing after all of these years.
I think that's why I prefer the old school sidescrollers to the NSMB series - the current ones don't offer much else that the old ones didn't already have. SMB3 actually provided MORE with the assortment of items and quirks in every stage; if I were to count off the amount of items in SMB3:
1) Mushroom
2) Fire Flower
3) Super Leaf
4) Whistle
5) Starman
6) Hammer
7) Music Box
8) Jugem's Cloud
9) Tanooki Suit
10) Frog Suit
11) Hammer Suit
12) Power Wing
13) Anchor
14) Kuribo Shoe is so awesome I'm including it here
And then add the N-Cards, Toad Houses, Spade Houses, Hammer Bro fights, White Toad Houses, and the coveted Coin Ship, then you've got yourself a game.
NSMBWii? Mushroom/Fire Flower duo, Mini Mushroom, Propeller Mushroom, Penguin Suit, and Starman. Add mediocre music, a few noteworthy levels (think the poisonous river level in World 5 and the Roller Coaster level in World 8), Toad Houses again, and stationary boss areas, and you've got a good game, but it just doesn't live up to it's predecessors. Maybe I'm just wearing nostalgia goggles, but SMB3 managed all of this ON THE NES, I had hoped NSMBWii would have been something spectacular given the stuff the Wii can do.
