You do, but you get the running shoes 10 minutes in, when you go to Route 2.
Also, apparently if it's pirated, you can't gain experience. That sounds like it would make an interesting challenge, no?

TP looks nothing like Fonz, and I've never worn Gap clothing in my life lmao.
On a different note... in my first tournament since maining Ganon again, I got 5th out of 28 using almost 100% Ganon. I beat a Falco who's an HM in our state--listen to FonZ's advice about Falco in the personal MU thread, it really helps. I only switched away from Ganon for part of one set, because I was fighting a Kirby who I fight all the time and he was just playing really gay lmao. He knew all of my tricks so I had to counterpick him, or else he wouldn't learn nuthin. Afterwards he taught me that Ganon's pivot grab actually beats out Kirby's Bair camping, so I'll be practicing that so I don't have to counterpick him next time.
Also, I teamed up with Kain and we got 2nd in teams... we beat Lain's team in winners AND in losers, without me switching away from Ganon once. Lain teamed up with another MK from Michigan, so it was basically a Ganon/Wolf team absolutely trucking through a double MK team. I killed Lain twice off the side twice by Wizkicking offstage when he glided, it was pretty funny lmao. Unfortunately we lost to Arty/Sago twice... Arty has too much DLA experience
Pretty satisfied overall... I have another tournament next weekend so expect some more good results

LOL well TBH I underestimated him, he's gotten a ****-ton better recently, and I realized that he knew the Ganon matchup a lot better than I knew the Kirby matchup. The point of me maining Ganon again is so that I can relearn all of the matchups... and since it was clear that I didn't really know this matchup, there was no point in me staying Ganon and losing, especially when I can play friendlies with him like every weekend and practice the MU.
I felt bad switching out, but it was the right thing to do IMO >.> It was my first tournament back with Ganon, cut me some slack eh!
Other than that, I beat Meneil, who's an HM in our state... she went Falco game 1 and Ike game 2. Everyone seemed really impressed that I beat her Falco with my Ganon, and I told them to stop sleeping on my Ganon lmao.
I also almost beat Sago, but he Zair edgehogged me like 4 times during the set, because I refused to acknowledge that it was a threat if I recovered the right way. Guess I was wrong lol. Don't try to edgeguard a Samus unless you know that you'll get back to the ledge before her. With this in mind, I played about half a dozen friendlies with him later and I won every match except one... so I'll get him next time
I know how that is. If I ever lose to someone in tourney, I play them in friendlies afterward and seldom lose.
