Nice matches Hyper, didn't know you wanted all Dittos only, tough.

I find you pretty good, but your playstyle is really slow.

Yeah, man, that was fun. I was having a really crazy time buffering anything. Literally, everything from thunderstorming to any type of buffered aerial followup was just not happening. There were countless times when I input a buffered followup and just ended up standing there like a deer in headlights. I just couldn't adjust my timing to work with the lag, so yep, I was a big, fat, slow-moving target. Lag, sure, but all in all, you roundly served it up to me. Badly. I wish we could play in person sometime, because your link and ganon have skills, and I'd love to see our dittos up to full potential.

Dutchman, Good matches, homie. Considering we were playing from like 3000 miles apart on Nintendo WiFi, which is basically as fast as Alexander Graham Bell's first telephone line, the lag wasn't TOO unbearable.

Despicable...

Phoenix, I'll play you at like 1 oclock, alright? I just spent all morning on wifi and am a little worn out, but the prospect of lagless matches in the same region are too enticing. Add me and I'll make a room, alright? see you in a bit. Admittedly, I don't know the sonic matchup well either, but I have played Wes a few times who is a good NYC sonic (and the best melee samus. my hero.)

Yeah, I heard he picked up Sonic. I'm sure he tries his hardest to avoid the Sonic boards, lol. Anyways, adding you now.

So, I play way too many really bad Ganons, and would like to actually learn the matchup. Anyone up for Sonic vs Ganon matches? Oh, and just so you realize how bad these people are that I'm playing.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KANsdX5AIak
You know how much I despise people who under estimate Ganon, now do you? I'll brawl you, and most likely beat you.

@hyper: Yeah, they were pretty fun. We both suffered from lag, but I really enjoyed it.

DK is too good online.

Good games, phoenix. It was probably obvious that I haven't had too much experience vs sonics in the past. I learned a lot about the sonic matchup, but unfortunately, I couldn't really put too much of it to use online...against the fastest character in the game, if you're getting almost half a second of lag on all your inputs, you're basically swinging at air. Really, it was almost impossible to deal with the delay against someone that fast. Again, unreliable buffered followups as ganon=fail. Wifi is really pissing me off today. If you ever come to new york tournaments, let me know.

By the way, I'm in no way trying to demean your sonic. He's good.

Lost, I presume?

Phoenix, I have time right now. We should brawl.

Yeah, fun matches. Online will always suck. But it's a decent way to learn character matchups I guess. Every character suffers from wifi lag. Sonic's lack of range and priority makes him a blue sandbag most of the time. Sorry for the late response. Got sidetracked for a while.

Um, I wasn't underestimating Ganon. I said that I played really awful Ganons, and posted a video to how awful they were.

Lost, I presume?

I'll play a few if you're still up for some matches.

Edit: ZOMG DOUBLE POST!

No, anything but lost. In fact, I think I had a really good grasp of the matchup after only a couple matches, but because everything was so delayed, I was often swinging where that blue blur was half a second earlier. Sonic doesn't really have a huge bag of tricks, and most of it is really legible, I've found, but when you're not reacting in 1:1 timing, it's mostly futile and guessing. For reference, I didn't have these problems when I 1v1ed Wes at a NYC tournament recently. Granted, he whooped me up good because I didn't know the matchup well then, but nonetheless, hits were connecting the way they should have in these wifi matches.

But it's a decent way to learn character matchups I guess.
Agreed.

Meh, we had a green connection. If it was yellow, or worse I'd accept what you said as a reasonable excuse. Every character is worse online. Online may make it harder for Ganon to punish attacks, but Sonic has his own problems. Most of his moves will get beat out by other attacks, so he completely relies on punishing. Online also makes it a lot harder to gimp characters offstage, which is one of the few things he's good at doing. Those are just the first things that come to mind.

MK is so broken he made Swoops suicide 3 times over... lol

Swoops is good, he's like Ganondorf on crack.. Jumping all over the place, doing aerials and buffers and I don't know what to do so I hit him in the face with Wizkick...

But yeah, Swoops won most of the Ganon ditto's... I won more on counterpick stages, and he more on neutrals. Although his Peach and Bowser had to suffer from my DK and Ganon. : D

Good games, Swoops.. Did you get any replays you can upload for me? (DK ones too?)

EDIT: FD combo = Flying Flame Choke -> Flame Choke -> Full Hop Dair.
FD combo 2 = FFC -> FC -> FH dair unto a platform -> Jab

Double EDIT: I'm still up for some matches if someone wants them... This is probably the last time I'll play online for a good while, so get it while it's hot.

What can I say, apparently Ganon fears armored blueberries.

Damn...I wish that was a character. Screw metaknight, Ganondorf on Crack would be god tier. Lol the lag wasn't nearly as bad as I thought, especially for being pretty much on opposite sides of the globe. I did have trouble doing buffers and chasing d-throw, but I really don't have much to john about.

I have no idea how to play Bowser >.>, but I went with it. My peach definitely got ***** a couple times...scarring memories. But I actually have experience playing against one of the best DKs I've ever seen, so that definitely helps in the Ganon/DK match up. Less aggressiveness, more spacing and punishing. D-throw>f-tilt>cargo slap. Cargo slap is amazing...has the most incredible range.

I think I only have a couple of replays ><. Sometimes I remember, sometimes I forget. I'll check it out and see if I have any good ones...you? Actually that reminds me, DAD, you can go ahead and send me that replay if you got my wii code a couple pages back.

Swoops Combo = Anything>Destruction

The lag wasn't that bad, at least. I could play my Wolf decently, and my DK seems to work extremely well online...

I was just having an off-day with Ganondorf, I think. I wasn't able to think with him, I just Wizkick'd over and over. xD

So is this basically a friend code thread for Ganondorf users?

I'm really not that good at all, but I'm hoping to get better, so maybe playing some of you will help. Here's the need-to-know:

Eat it, swoops. It's obviously been stickied due to the unparalleled caliber of my threads.

Just playing, Gee. Thanks. I'll try to send you some videos to your wii today. Only problem I foresee is that I have so many ditto replays now, it might prove a bit difficult to say which matches are against whom.

I think there are like 4 European Ganondorf's... 2 in the Netherlands, 1 in France (which would be Blad and then Serph from England!

...Yeah.
