well, it's % dependant that you just get hit into the air. I'm pretty sure zoso's thing works at any %. idk about asdi for that.

Well I was trying this morning and I still can't do it pretty well, it bothers me because I can shine>bair with falco out of shield always and hit on pretty high %s

I suck at jc shining i don't get it, and it's not as simple as it sounds guys xD! I've never tryed doing it with y to b though. I always do it with x to b ; plus, now that my controller is broken I have to use another one that hasn't got the same sensivity, and because of that I can't rshdl as much as before. And that's why I have to adapt my fingers to the x to b method if I ever want to do it.

The only good parts of all of my latest training are that I can finally double shine with falco pretty consistently ; and also, I finally included moonwalking, with falcon-yes, I play with falcon-, into actual gameplay

Oh yeah, does somebody here has some cool falcon vids? I'm trying to get good with falcon. Sorry to ask that here, but the falcon forums kinda sucks -lately at least-, this fox's forum seems to be the best now; besides, I know some of you guys like falcon and have been around the boards lately

no controller johns, just use y>b. It'll also help you keep the fox/ falco timing separate.

I put the SMASH in smash DI. Also, i'd bet that the drill grab is %/character Dependant.

if you have a quick trigger finger, you can jump out of your shield and tap L to airdodge into the ground. (assuming you dont use R)

or, you can just do all that, and don't worry about fastness, since shield put away lag is jump cancelable, so you can do either x>release R> R, or release R>x>R. obviously, the first is faster, but if you mess it up a bit, you're only loosing a few frames at most.

so what specifically do you guys watch for in your opponents when playing? and how is it different in tourney matches vs friendlies that you're playing to learn? I'm trying to expand my mental game, so input would be cool.

I'm always on to something new.

When I'm 'sandbagging' I don't literally tech chase, I try really stupid *** edge guards and approaches (up b forward b), Don't corner, Something I do frequently is just tech in place, or always get up in the same way just to do it. I basically act like and treat my opponent like a computer. Honestly, I can't even try if I don't have a controller I can wavedash with.

Something else, Lasers. Unless I'm practicing shl or something I just don't laser at all. Zoso could vouch for my varying play styles. I think Cort might even be able to as well.

other ****.

I up B.

As far as playing "in tournament" goes, I haven't played in a melee tournament in a good while, not a big one at least. I'd like to do something about it soon though. /not going to fast.

You just have to be able to cold read your opponents every move at the same time.

I found out that insta wall jump from the edge is way more easier with falcon than with anyone else (for me at least). I still can do more than 2 nair from a wall jump and be able to get back on the stage again. And now I can moonwalk with fox...

Funny that when you sandbag you dont shoot lasers, but in tournament I rarely catch my self shooting them. I just dont think about it. Hmmm.
I'm sure you'd be surprised by a lot of things.

Moonwalking with fox is so 6 months ago.

Hmm, I've got techs and combos down, now for approaches. I've always thought Drillshining was almost unpunishable, but some people claim it to not be such a good approach... And aside from that, the only other approaches I tend to use are SHFFL-ANAs and laser setups. Anything else that I should integrate in my play?

And for the Nair --> Nair --> Upsmash combo, do I need to FF on the Nairs in order to do it? I tend to forget to fast fall from short hops because they're so small.

JC grabs are a good option, and whille we're at calling them by old names, let's just say the SHFFL j5A is good, and so is the j4A. drillshine's only a good approach when they're in lag. also, pretty much fast fall all your approaches. can't think of a reason not to off the top of my head (although i know brookman can).

If you fast fall you don't travel as far, that extra inch can be the difference between getting grabbed and landing your nair.

Also, I found out the other day that spaced fair > nair.
