I don't think you can DI out of the uptilt and land safely at lower percentages if the Marth players turns around when he's supposed to. He can always follow up on a grab or, if you DI far away from it, a dash attack (which can lead into other things like another uptilt, nair, fair, fsmash). But I could be wrong.

if the marth is bad ban yoshi's since itll help him more than FD. (unless hes smart with the grabs) overall your better off banning FD though.

Hey I made a topic on this but I thought i might post it here as well, might get more helpful information =)

Sup fools. Once again I find myself pondering where marth is gayer v fox, yoshis story or FD? In tournament I still cannot decide which one is worse.

YS aka marths story - marth kills at stupid low percentages, gotta watch for tippers on platforms. fox can do some nasty combos however

FD - the dreaded chaingrab. basically one grab = 50 damage, and they can easily follow up with upairs and tech chase grabbing and marth gayness. fox is really good on FD, however, and can nasty marth up hardcore. BUT YOU CANT GET GRABBED!!

Lately, I've been banning FD, cuz I would rather take my chances on yoshis story. on yoshis at least marth has no(read: less) auto combos that you cannot escape from, and its so frustrating getting chain grabbed

EDIT: How does one DI marths uptilt...I hate marths that turn around in between every uptilt, it makes picking DI so much more confusing X_X

What do my fellow fox players think?
I responded to this in the thread you made.

Hi Fox boards.

I'm glad no one has a problem with me banning stadium as a fox player.

Shame on you Thumbs. I probably don't have to tell you this, since you run away from alcohol on your own.

But stay away from liquor.

Can you tell me the reason why you would ban PS? I really don't know.

Personal preference is always good. I hate stadium vs marth and a few other characters. I still CP it, but marth's combos on the neutral part are so guaranteed as long as they don't mess up. A lot of marths do, but they don't think they are. CG is still awsome too. No sides to squeeze on them. Rock and fire stage become camp fest, though they are heavily in fox's favor. I am also sure that the other two transformations are in marth's favor.

Unknown - I agree, you should take personal preferences if you truly dislike the match up on that stage.

Having a clear mind is better than "**** I gotta play on this ****ty stage" mindset .

I'm trying to abuse nair more with fox, does this make me a better fox player?

Do you think it's better to ban a stage that you're uncomfortable on, or a stage that the opponent has a huge advantage on?

Against normal chars (fox, falcon, shiek, marth) I always ban Battlefield because that stage makes me REALLY uncomfortable, but against jiggs/peach I'll ban DL64. Probably for the better, right, if I feel comfortable on all other stages?

Watch for CCs.

I would like to know as well, but I really like the point Teczero made about having a clear mind instead of dreading something.

IMO, yes.

If its me, I'd much rather ban a stage I feel uncomfortable on.

If you plan on improving your game though, I suggest being comfortable on all the stages. Or at least all the neutral stages. Spending bans on neutral stages is sometimes not a great idea.

He does. Not competitively though.

3 sucks for competitive play. I play 5.

In 3, use 2X hero + attack+ 30. Noob strat, but it's lol.

also, Rock cube + air shot is ****ing hilarious.

Probably LOL

I really dunno. Jman took a lot of stuff from Cactus I think.

Nair spamming is so fun and ..... kinda practical LOL

Next thing you see is IC's ****** on Poke Floats
That would be sooo cool .

Hey, if DK can beat Foxes on PF anything is possible.

I love it so much, I just expect too much of myself sometimes I guess.

I hate "slow and steady" progress.

Melee's my favorite :D

I need help versus Pikachu.

I faced my friend in pools and beat him twice, but faced him against in loser's quarters.

I lost the first match (not against his Pikachu) but the second match I cp'd Corneria and he went Pikachu.

I got wrecked. I can't shine combo him, and he SDI's every uair I throw out. What "works" on him (it?)?

Learn to edgeguard him and get a kill every time. It's tricky to predict his recovery, but if you can force him to recover to the stage you can get a free up smash or up throw/uair.

Should I learn to uair so the second hit hits him and he can't SDI? I don't use the c-stick to uair so the timing might be a bit difficult.

But would it just be better to bair or nair instead of the uair after a uthrow against someone who can consistently SDI, or delay it a slight to throw off hsi timing?

Nothing works, Sid is a beast who spaces everything perfectly. You just take it like a champ, like I did.

I'd say bair after the uthrow, or if he get thrown high enough, you can try to time the second hit of the uair. Pikachu, like most of the cast, also has difficulty against properly spaced bairs. His grab range is a joke.

Man your folder is so broken. lol

yea I play bn3, but thats not where I got my name from.

I'd say to ban the same you're uncomfortable on.

You can thunders combo Pikachu on flatland, but Corneria is weird so it might not work sometimes. Just make sure you wd out of your shine far enough and fast enough. Uthrow bair->FF (autocancel)->utilt->more stuff if uair isn't working. If he d.i.s the uthrow, follow with fullhop nair or bair and FF/lcancel accordingly and continue pressure. When edge-guarding, just grab the edge and time bair.

Most players don't know this, but Pikachu's upb screws him over a LOT of the time. Ever watched those weird videos where Pichu/Pikachu get hit by a move while recovering and yet the move completely whiffs? When Pikachu upbs, pause right when he's finished one of his two motions. You'll notice he becomes flat, and then stretches out. He either stretches horizontally or vertically. The type of stretch at the end of each upb zip is completely random. This actually increases his "body size". If you throw out bair, you'll hit him with either the weak or strong hit because his body stretches to meet your hitbox. Because of this, even if you bair too early from th ledge and he goes under you, he'll stretch and his body will still get hit by your bair.

When you bair, make sure to land on the stage incase you miss. From here its an easy grab or usmash or whatever. If you hit, WD back onto the ledge and do it again.
