the best secondary for Olimar is a character that can take out Luigi and peach, and MK. Falco is pretty good, don't use Wario I suppose cause that wont solve Peach and Luigi, The secondary also has to be able to take out Marth to a certain extent. On the other hand secondary whoever fits your playstyle, if Wario worksfor you, then use him.

Marth is Olimar's best alternate, excluding Meta Knight.

Marth beats Luigi and Peach very well, and handles a lot of Olimar's even match-ups well, too. He goes even with himself, and has a slight disadvantage against Meta Knight. Snake would be a good idea for vs. Meta Knight.

also so basically for pivot grabbing if your both standing there facing each other and are pretty close to each other, then pivot grabbing is a good option? and you do that by dashing away and quickly turning and grabbing at the same time?

also why is luigi such a bad matchup for oli?

luckily there isn't any luigis around here. even in the last big tourney with like 4 other states, did not see a single luigi so i'm the clear for now!

i was on the wario boards and they say this:
50:50 mk
60:40 snake wario advantage
55:45 peach wario advantage
50:50/55:45 luigi wario advantage

as long as its an equal fight, thats fine with me, i'll just have to really concentrate on only oli and wario.

unfortunately wario has 60:40 disadvantage against marth, so i don't know i guess i'll just have to work extra hard and see who i feel more comfortable fighting marth with.

It's the fact that he's got a, in all practical senses of the word, guaranteed kill at 45% from a jab.

If he didn't have that, it'd be much closer.

On most characters, those are easily escaped. The second one is a lot more reliable.

The first one requires you read their DI, and the tether isn't likely to hit. Another aerial would be better.

You know what he means. He's talking about if you whistle every single one of your opponent's attacks.

in theory you could live forever but if your at 300% i don't think the human reaction is that fast to save you from quick attacks that would normally not be a threat

This whole subject is kinda silly...but olimar is taking damage while whistling attacks, so he has to have a stock advantage if that's how he was planning on winning.

i've lived to 350% before on battlefield, and then i got grabbed. even if you whistle, you can't whistle grabs, and even then that's really tough even if you are amazing at whsitles, they started to expect it and then won't attack until you whistle. you can attempt a plank with whistle if you have stock advantage though, that actually sounds like a good idea. spam sideb, they approach, whistle whistle whistle run run run

actually it does work, i sh whistle into a nair smash if they get hit, or nair into a pivot grab, obviously on the inside of the stage pivot grab

For those of you that have aim, try to keep online enough of the time. If there is a good amount of Olimar mains online (Five or more) one of us can get a group chat. If enough of us are free, we can do a matchup discussion.

I, however, have been swamped lately, with so much stuff to keep up with with brawl and life @_@ So if I don't have time to do so at certain times, that's why.

Also, whistling to get on stage is a legit option, and works a lot of the time. However, when the opponent begins to expect it, attacking from the ledge (fair/purple toss) works as well. Also, Icy, try not to double post so much lol.
