I also want to congradualate Numa Dude on finally getting a Wii. I suggest you try and keep an open mind about Midna until you've completed the game, but that's just my opinion. However, I agree that we are meant to believe that the Skull Kid in TP is the same one from past games - though his appearance has changed somewhat.
I recomened you check out Super Paper Mario after you've completed Twilight Princess.
was no need for that in the game, it never happen, u were transform into a deku in MM, and when u get the ocarina back, seeing deku link playing an ocarina would just look werid, thus the game designers brought in the pipes, fact is the dekus had MANY deku pipes, while SK (not being a deku btw) only has a horn he uses to summon puppets, it aint hardcore proof like I said...
Like Vali said before we don't know if all of these things we are noticing are clues or just fan service but I believe that Nintendo is leaving all of these subtle little hints to tell us it is the same SK.
It could be possible another SK could have learn ONE SONG in the hundreds years that have passed between MM and TP, and even if it WAS the same skull kid, u would think he would have remembered the guy that saved him from an evil mask, saved the world of termina, who stole his horse and ocarina, and who he transform into a deku...
We don't exactly know if he recognized him or not. Maybe he did recognize him but he knew it couldn't have been the same one so he just played hide and seek with him for old times sake.
Rite now shes seems like another companion, by the end of the game, ull see the big role she had in TP, shes far more than just another guide character...
See u use to say Zant was lame, now u think hes awesome (ur still saying he doesnt have a chance, but u change ur opinion on him) it could be u dont want t change opinion on midna after all u said about her, and avoid the flame, but meh... lets talk back when u clear the game...
When did I say Zant was lame? My opinion on his and Midna's chances have nothing to do with how much I like them it has to do with the fact they have only been in one game in a huge franchise.
now b4 this we start another SK/midna/vaati/tingle war here, lets just keep talking about stages or pissble items please
*patiently waiting for Stryks to post on me or Numa*
Well Numa you should beat the game today or tomorrow to get this actually started.
Iron boots plus metal=your not moving.
Now to Stryks post if he remembered those things. Don't be so sure because people in real life have forgottin about being a slave or in war after periods of time. Don't use SK doesn't age...I know that. Time is still passing by.
Hmm, the kid looks like a quite literal skull kid this time.
How would a Sacred Grove stage work? Would you jump around on giant branches? Or maybe it could be like Onett, without pits at the side...
As long as it's as beautiful as it is in the original, complete with music, I'm fine.
EDIT: Actually, making him a stage hazard would work strangely... but he could be a mini-boss in some sort of adventure mode with his puppets.
While if Skull Kid was in the game I'd rather have his MM version (his TP self just looks very weird), the Sacred grove would make a nice stage. How would SK work as a stage hazard though, would he try to blow you off the stage with his horn.
Yeah, I would love to see Skull Kid in full Majora's Mask mode as a playable character, but that doesn't seem too likely anymore - with TP getting all the buzz. I hope he could at least appear in Brawl in some form. A trophy at the VERY least.
Edit: How would the stage work? Nothing too fancy, just some platforms in a Onnet style stage (as opposed to a bunch of platforms floating in space like Battlefield). The music would be an orchestral version of saria's song and the Skull Kid would summon puppetsd every so often to keep things interesting.
Your location changed fast man.
I like the look too and MM but TP's is better because he crouches over making him appear smaller. It could be something like when Pokemon stadium changes to the grass form just different backrounds, music, and it would be bigger and well designed with tree trunks, braches, etc.
Agreed, Numa Dude. I wish that TP Skull Kid played a larger part in the game's story, then perhaps he could appear as a character in Brawl in his TP form. Maybe we'll see a TP sequel where SK is once agagin the villian?
Edit: Great ideas Creo. A transforming map is always more interesting.
Lol doubt it wiseguy, but im sure hopin the next zelda game to be far more darker and with a great storyline, im hopin for awesome cutscnes line in re4, where u have to press buttons to avoid attacks and all...
Also hoping they actually show ganondorf at the very beggining like in OoT, anod in 3/4 of the game like in TP, seriously I was more hyped to face zant than I was for ganondorf...
Not me...it is all about your taste but right when I saw Ganondorf destroy that sage, I wanted to fight him. I was very eager about it. For the next Zelda game though...I want something that can possibly top or be close as OoT. That is my favorite game of all time and no game is close to it yet.
I want him in as well and if he is in... you guys know what that means... Tingle will most likely return! Also the Postman again and maybe the Windmill dude. I like the awkward characters that no one see's interest in.
Meh I dislike the look of TP SK, I think he lost a lot of his personality in the translation from MM -> TP. I'd definitely prefer either a MM stage again in Brawl with SK as a hazard to appear and like actually summon the moon down onto part of the stage. Hell I wouldn't even mind fighting on the moon...well...it was more IN the moon than on, but it was a really nice place. That said, I wouldn't mind a Sacred Grove stage either.
Zant is still a huge contender for the worst boss fight I've ever had the misfortune to play.
Cmon Vali Zant was awesome, the last fight was very fun and entertaining, u cant possibly say hes worse than the giant enemy spider where u have to hit its weakpoint with the statues for massive damage (If anyone got that u deserve a cookie) the spider was by FAR the lamest and easiest boss iver ever faced...
Yeah...Zant was overly easy and that was a major 'flaw' of Twilight Princess. All the fights seemed easier, regular enemies, bosses, etc. Come on, the reaper guy(sub boss) in Arbiters Ground sucks completely. OoT was harder, better story, and was just in all ways, better.
Tons of ways. He can have a mask that Link needs in order to defeat the last boss, he could be the last boss, he could be Link's half brother, there is no limit to what they can do to make him a major character. I actually see it as quite likely he will be in the TP sequel. First off MM the game he was most important in is a prequel to TP it is also heavily hinted at that the tribe that made the mask is the Twili so I wouldn't be surprised if he returned.

He is very mysterious and there is not telling what they can do. If you go through Majoras Mask again, it actuall does make since that it could very well be (the tribe they were talking about of who created the mask) the Twili. I don't think it is a prequel because TP is set 100 years or so after OoT so would that make it a prequel still?
Right I'll tell you whats wrong with Zant. There's a whole lot of it, but the main points. Trying to keep this largely spoiler free for Numa's benefit too, 'cause I'm not sure how much he's researched into the finer details of the plot.
TP was intended to take a more adolescent, mature storyline which was largely reflected throughout the whole of TP, characters/world/everything. The main baddy, Zant, was designed very well. He was shown as feared, even the intro hypes him up to be badass with the black nightmare creature things striding through Hyrule castle, and his mask was weird/freaky enough to be menacing. Zelda at the very start even just drops her sword and abandons the kingdom merely in Zant's presence. Then throughout the story you encounter him like after collecting all of the fused shadows and he's shown as incredibly powerful and the mouthpiece slides back and there's that weird mouth which again is quite menacing and at this point he's quite the badass.
Right. Then you don't really see him again until the end. At this point his badassness suddenly vanishes and is taken in a completely different direction. His mask comes off, he's freaky looking but only in the way that makes you burst out laughing at the prospect of being frightened by it, and he becomes a whiny little 'tard with his sound effects and the various things he does. The boss fight then is an incredibly disappointing
rehash of all the other boss fights, all the whine Zant is prancing around like some ****. He's really weak, all of the different stages seem to offer you some way of getting your health back it isn't in the slightest a challenge. Then the final bit with the swords, well, that could've been semi-serious if his attacks hadn't made him look like a *******
. So no, Zant wasn't good. He was pretty awesome up until the end, and then they ruined him. Whenever I think of Zant all I can think of is a massively wasted potential.
Way to strive for maturity, TP! And do I get a cookie for getting the Genji reference? At least I think it's the Genji crab reference. Some game like that.
How do you propose they do that? Unless one of them isn't telling us something.
Just to add my thoughts on Zant, I kind of feel the same way as Vali. While I like the fact that they tried to make Zant look psychotic, they kind of mind him look like a spoiled child, which kind of killed his image somewhat. I didn't mind fighting in past areas, but I felt I was kind of fighting other boss battles again, rather than fighting Zant himself. Though to be fair at that point, I was already more geared up to fight Ganondorf than I ever had been for Zant.
Zant was ruined the second you came face to face with him. Every other time you were either knocked unconscious or were seeing a flashback, where Zant effortlessly dispatches enemies, then once you actually fight him his personality crumbles. But was there a personality to begin with? He never does anything that shows much personality. His face is covered, no expression is shown, he seems either not to care or be too powerful to care when he almost kills Midna. Ganondorf comes on the scene, he's ditched. Awful character. Terrible villain.
Did you read my rant over the other page Smash Daddy? His personality is more just a personification of badassness and at the end of the day that's the only personality villains really need. He could've had personality develop in the scene with
Ganondorf, you know where he helps him, he could've been turned into a cold-blooded power-hungry killer with the help of Ganon's evil taint etc. which really is all the story you need
. Instead as Luke said perfectly he doesn't really become psychotic but an immature little brat. Where's the godd*mn scariness and high tension in a fight where he prances around making strange noises?
Zant: "I shall rule the world, merging twilight into light to make darkness!"
Midna: "Nope, not gonna let you do that."
Zant: "But I want it NOW!"
Midna: "No Zant, bad Zant."
Zant: "BUT I WANT WORLD DOMINATION NOW! "
How come Mendez gets to be first? Why not Wisgendez?
Regardless, its a moot point. Mendez and I are actually the same person. The Chief you've all been talking to is the crazy side of my personality that wants Andross and Jumpman in Brawl.
^^^^ Lmao=totally hilarious! And Wiseguy is the one who wants Falco out and Midna Twili form in=??? =lol jk! I'm not even sure if I want to see what you two wrote all over this thread!
