The demo has three characters for each game, a different set of three for both games.

It's fun, I'll keep playing the demo for now, but I really want to try out some of the locked characters.

I wonder who everyone will choose. Every character has a lot of offense capabilities.

One thing I love how VS is that everyone has a command grab.

I like Talbain from what I've seen, but Felicia looks obnoxious too. I'm gonna try it at my college's FG club on Thursday before I go out and buy it.

I'm gonna be playing Hsien-Ko/Lei Lei and Talbain in VS. Dead girls and kung-fu canines, awwww yiss. In VH, I'm probably gonna roll with Huitzil and Pyron, just cause.

Just bought it, but maybe I'll play a bit in training mode today. If the lag is bad, I might not use my BB Hood a lot. Hsien-Ko's gonna be annoying because of my HK button, so maybe I'll stick with Bishamon and Jedah.

But yeah, I heard that it's within 2 frames of lag of the arcade version, so hopefully it won't annoy me too badly. VS has a lot of links though.

I tried the demo, might pick it up on payday.

I'm not sure if anyone local is picking it up though. Also, playing VS3 on turbo too good, but I don't want to get attached, I'm pretty sure people generally don't play it like that, haha.

Vampire Savior is played on Turbo. At least, it should be. I know arcade is Turbo 3 while Console might just be Turbo? I don't know how it's handled yet.

A lot of the characters look fun, that tends to not happen with me and Capcom fighting games.

Looks like I've chosen Q-Bee for right now, I even completed her tutorials, the last one was a pain. There's still a lot of other characters I'd like to try, so nothing is set yet.

This whole fierce/roundhouse nonsense is annoying too, why not just use HP/HK. :mad088:
Oh well, will not be hard to get used to at all. I think it only shows up in button config and tutorials anyway.

Crusayer is making a Madoka reference. Kyubey = QB. You contract? Become meguca.

In all seriousness, I was thinking of playing Q-Bee or Hsien-Ko, but I don't have the game yet. And knowing my game's local scene, it'll be another flavour of the month. Oh well, I'm willing to give it a shot, we'll see how it goes.

Oh...

...

Anyways, I can see this being a flavor of the month game, I don't think many of the old Capcom games have stayed alive for long with their rerelease. Though I think half a day has been more than enough time to say that DS3/VS is my favorite Capcom fighting game, not that there's really any competition.

At least there's the GGPO netcode, hopefully that will keep it somewhat alive.

GGPO netcode is okay, it feels better on PC somehow. I don't know why. :p

As far as I know, 3SO is still going strong though, so maybe I'll pick it up after I pay my bills.

EDIT: And by "it," I mean Darkstalkers.

I've recently bought Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition 2012 on Steam and while I can play it on a keyboard, I find it hard to do some inputs (namely 360 and 720 motions).

Does anyone here play fighting games on a gamepad? If so, what gamepad do you use / recommend?

I've seen these ones on sale on a electronics store and I've considered buying one of them:
Thrustmaster Dual Trigger 3 in 1
Logitech Gamepad F310
Trust GXT 30 Wireless Gamepad

Any other suggestions would be welcome as well.

Thanks in advance.

if you have an arcade stick, can't you just use that?

if not, then a ps3 controller hooks up through blue tooth and a wired xbox controllers automatically installs itself

To be entirely honest, gamepad viability is all about the character you use. Incidentally, some low execution characters suck on pad, and some high execution excel on pad. Honda'd be an example of the former and Seth the latter. Doing things like piano'ing for Honda's HHS is awkward on the pad, and the strange asymmetrical motions involved in doing Vega's scarlet terror are all things that'd make using pad a pain in the ass. Not to mention, you can't plink on a pad (plinking is just a technique done on stick that makes 1-frame links easier to do--not all characters have 1-frame links that're important. Seth, for example, only has one combo, and it's not very important, so he works with pad)

But, as a Seth pad player, I can make a few advisements:

1. Find a pad with a thumbstick that's high up and has a small range of motion, i.e. smaller base area. For things like dashing, shoryuken motions and so forth, the further your thumb is from your hand, the more difficult it is to perform such things. The PS3 thumbstick is an example of exactly what not to look for--anything that requires thumb eversion (extension away from the hand) to reach is bad.

2. If you want a dpad, find one with a floating dpad. Otherwise 360 motions, as well as a lot of other things, won't be possible except with low execution characters like Bison.

My personal recommendation is a 360 controller with a USB attachment. It's perfect because the thumbstick allows you to keep your thumb in neutral position, and the small base area allows for quick motions without overextension.

Well, you <can>, but the awkwardness involved and profound lack of consistency make it a more of a practical impossibility than an actual one.

So what's this I heard about Tekken x Street Fighter possibly being an early PS4 title now? Am I the only one that thought that project was canceled ages ago?

There was never any indication that it was cancelled.

To be fair, I think it was supposed to be released after SFxT, so that could be whenever.

Oh, all right. I just had heard literally nothing on it other than that they were thinking on the possibility of it when they were working on making SFxT, so since I hadn't heard anything at all (which isn't to say info isn't out there), I figured the idea was left on the cutting room floor. Hell, I kinda questioned if it was actually ever a thing at all, on a couple of occasions.

I bought me Darkstalkers: Resurrection HD lately and this will keep me busy until I hear some major news about Project Versus J. It's good to play a great fighter again.

Hey, Minato, did you pick up Street Fighter X Tekken on the Vita? I've noticed activity updates from your PSN ID on my LiveArea. On that note:

After taking the time to record this, I can now say that I genuinely despise Cammy's go-to BnB. The timing is so stupid.

Yup, I actually did get it for my Vita. It gave me something to play and I never bought the DLC to begin with anyways.

And yes, I hate the timing on Cammy's HK into Cannon Strike. I'm so inconsistent at it. Nice video though, I actually didn't know that you could do cr LK to HP between the EX and the DP.

I've played the Wii version a while ago. It was fun and competitive, but needed more features. My mains were usually Sol, Bridget, Faust, Baiken, and Venom.
That's probably why BlazBlue has a stronger single player presence. Did you find GG hard?

Yeah, especially if you're fighting against guys like Zappa and Faust in arcade mode. The controls would have been much better on a PlayStation though, which is why I owned BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger afterwards.
