I love how i get planked and timed out and i lose. im not being mean or anything but they should be a rule set and stick with it not say planking is allowed and randomly it isnt that was really stupid.. i kinda feel like i was robbed becuz i thought there was a ledge grap limit. and ima train with Mk just for planking ppl so i dont get gayed again..

and yea m!x i wanted to play ur snake but we didnt have time.. and yea i was gayed so hard,thats prolly one of the gayest matches ive ever had in my life.... =/ and thanx for the tips!!!!!

i had alot of fun guys u all were pretty cool hopefully i can come up and play with u guys again!

Thanks for hosting this, although there were some things that were just plain ********.

1) I got there on time, before 3:00 and was told registration was over and I couldn't enter. Whoever was on the laptop was nice enough to add me and my friend although for some reason I had to start off in losers while he got a 1st round winners match, not a huge deal but kinda annoying since I took the time to bring a TV and cube.

2) Projecters lag, bring TV setups- Seriously, its worth it, we have plenty of tables and room. Use a projecter to DISPLAY grand finals, but not to play on it.

3) No friendlies on the ONLY setups? This was probably the dumbest thing I've seen. People go to tournaments to play other people outside their friend circle. There were plenty of times where no one was playing a tournament match and all these setups just sat there unused, better yet; TO's had a problem with ANY one who even used them for a 1 game warmup before a match.

I understand you guys want to keep the tournament running smoothly, but friendlies aren't a terrible thing unless its getting in the way of the tournament matches, which is clearly wasn't because matches were being announced slowly and setups just sat there.

I finished ONE friendly and a TO came over and DQ'd both me and another player (was already out, didnt matter) when there were at least 3 unused setups in the room, our match was over and we were unplugging our controllers to walk away.


Overall, things could be run a little better but running a tournament is hard and especially when many of the TO's have little-no experience running them and only a handful of people organizing things.

I'm not trying to pick apart how bad anything was, i enjoyed my self. I'm just trying to shed some light to make the NEXT Brawl tournament here a ton better. For no entry fee and free pizza, this was actually pretty great :D Goodjob to all.






Last thing, GG's to everyone I played and the fact Jason attended this tournament was ****ing RANDOM.

Thanks for coming everyone, this was our fourth Brawl tournament and first one to use rules considered legit by the smash community. (2nd one I've run). Next time we will have a better registration process so no one slips by with out being signed up. Also we will have better defined rules regarding the minor stuff such as the timed out issue. we agree that was unfair but i wasn't described by our rules next time it will be. Projectors and lag... only a few people have ever complained about this. I've asked around the majority say there fine. Plus there a guarantee we can't really guarantee we can get enough people to bring tv's in. I had enough troubled getting 7 wii's... If we could get a guarantee we could get 7 or 8 tv's then sure I'd do it... As for friendlies we, will try to allocate one or two wii's next semester.

The results for this should be posted soon. And they will be added to the overall rankings.

we appreciate any and all feedback, we will improve our system for FGCU's Spring Smash 2011! Hope to see you all again in the spring.

@Yin: Yea there was no Rule in this thread about edge grab limit/Planking and when I said something about it no one answer or cared about it U got gayed out pretty much and with my brothers match, apparently it was stalling... please understand the meaning of Stalling for next time... if u have a rule about it then make sure what it means...

Stalling: The act of deliberately avoiding any and all conflict so that one may make the game unplayable. Running away from an opponent to reach a better position is not stalling, while doing an infinite grab endlessly against a wall is. Any infinite chain grabs must end quickly after 300% has been reached so as to prevent excessive stalling.

It was soooo gay that my brother forfeit the first match cuz he was planking now and then just like that pit guy was... both players where reaching a better position because simply put... they had the advantage and there was no reason to rush in and get killed only counter the opponents approach... thats LEGIT and surprisingly it has been approved by the BBR rule set... its gay but some characters need that play style for their game plan like pit, R.O.B. and so on. Soooo yea next time hear other players out (that have experiences with Tournaments) for whats right and if your gonna use the BBR Rule set then actually read it and understand it well... I had pointed some things out but no one cared

to clearify, the difference between my pit stalling yin's marth and vtec stalling vipers falco is this, pit shoots arrows from the ledge trying to rak up safe damage to further the match and eventually kill the opponent, vtec's mk literally release/regrabed the ledge for 2 min straight that match even after viper back away so vtec could get up, the rules for ledge stalling is that u may stay on the ledge as long as ur opponent is gaurding it or near it, but if ur opponent backs up u have to get back on stage or your opponent can call it stalling. this is my understanding of it.

p.s. @yin: srry for the homosexualness of that match but the pit marth match is like 60:40 marth, marth outspacess out speeds pit and kills pit way faster than pit kills marth, planking is manditory in this match and at the begining of the tourney when u asked that question the speaker announced no edge grab limit. the night before i played a few friendlies with tra and i couldnt completely gay his marth with planking, its not my fault u didnt adapt. <3

Viper chose not to get near the edge and since MK doesn't have projectiles he cant Force him to approach him, the only way was for Viper to realize that if he stayed where he was he was gonna loose. Viper Stayed in one spot and so did my brother... and cuz my brother happened to be on the edge being safe means hes the one Stalling??? that doesn't make sense lol its not like Viper was getting to the edge and then my bro glided to the other side Avoiding all contact with him to prohibit the match from playing. Thats what Stalling is, my brother was just reaching a better position and he NEVER does that, He probably did it cuz he saw you doing it against Yin while Viper himself was trash talking pretty much saying it was ok to play that gay lol. That disappointed me... not only that but when Yin complain they didn't had any rule against Planking. That match doesn't even matter much cuz my bro still 2-0 him afterwards, The main problem was that there was no edge grab rule which made things... gayeeer lol I'm not saying what my bro and u did is bad or good... but the rule itself about planking made my brothers match and yours Legit but he had to forfeit his cuz people dont know what Stalling actually means lol

If it was actually Stalling then it didn't had to go to time... if there was an edge grab limit then yea the rule comes in affect...

I had mentioned the whole edge grab limit and some other stuff but they seemed not to care much for tips on making it better... but after this I think theyll be more detailed with everything... hopefully

I gotta say not many people CPed me on any of those new stages... the worst I got was Norfair and Japes (Totally my fault for not banning it seeing a Falco in front of me )

Did ANYONE went Distant Planet, Green Greens etc.???
