I'm more curious if the formes will become exclusives. Awakened forme on Wii U, the other forme on 3DS? Both with base Mewtwo, of course~
Also, rumor has it this "2nd forme" makes Mewtwo resemble Mew more...

Not to, like, derail the topic of Mewtwo's forms, but...

Wasn't the way that Mewtwo would "hold" items psychically SO BADASS? I think that was one of my favorite things about him. So many of his movements were done in a completely casual way, as if the entire battle is beneath him.

And it'd be so, so easy to make his moves both interesting and effective. I don't care at all about Pokemon, but I really want Mewtwo to make it back.

If Mewtwo has two formes, then there's a better chance that he'll stick with just the original methinks. After all, it would be a lot of work and a lot of change to an existing character to have three different transformations, and it would mean Pokemon would have an absurd number of reps. And it seems weird to me to include one forme and not the other. I may be grasping at straws, but still. If this rumor is true, then I'll definitely feel better about Mewtwo in SSB4.

It wouldn't be super bad- they could just be included as alternate costumes (not much work at all) or they could primarily change stats, but not actually change his moves. So, same moveset for each forme, but one would be his fast one that racks up damage with standards, a psychic forme that focuses on his specials' power, and a slow forme that has a high killing capacity. Wouldn't be too bad, mostly just moving some numbers around.

That would probably work too, and likely not have nearly as much of the balance and design problems Sakurai seems to have with transformation characters, which is the main reason I don't want the formes anyway. I could deal with that.

IIRC on that 3rd forme rumor, it's supposed to make him resemble the original Mew design more (think young Mewtwo in the TV special).

Which would be the closest thing to a playable Mew ever. I'd fangasm at that, even though I like Mewtwo infinitely more.

Judging from these, it appears Mewtwo can transform between his new forme and his base forme with relative ease. Also, Red Genesect is kind of a douchebag. Looks like he'll need to be taught a lesson... The manga ends on an (intentional) ambiguous note, where Mewtwo is seen carrying it off somewhere.
Since these manga previews never show the ending until the actual movie comes out, some people speculate that "2nd forme" could show up in the last minutes of the movie. I wouldn't bet on it, but makes you wonder.

I don't know about that, personally, I think it's new form should be the faster and more agile form and the normal Mewtwo be the powerhouse. Also, I think a character that's interchangeable through final Smash is better, since both are their own character even if they still count as one, like Samus and Zero Suit Samus. If it's a Zelda/Sheik relationship, it makes both forms an incomplete character which isn't what Mewtwo deserves.

Swap it - you'd have to make the original forme the slower one (similarly to SSBM's, but a touch quicker). The new forme is incredibly fast, it's able to outspeed even Extremespeed on its own. One of the reasons Mewtwo transforms into it at all is for the speed, and supposedly power, boost.

Good news, Sakurai is willing to publicly announce "we're thinking about it" in regards to putting in mewtwo with his new form.

Bad news, they're still in a stage of game development where they could add new characters, meaning creating new animations, models, balancing, etc., which implies a later release in 2014. :{

On the contrary. I'd be much happier playing as classic Mewtwo and just switching to the new form for a Final Smash than spending the entire match with a handle on my head and a tail in the wrong place.

I know I'm in the minority opinion here, but if Mewtwo isn't in his new form, I'd just rather have a pokemon from a newer generation. I wouldn't be disappointed at all if this doesn't happen, but I'd just prefer it.

I think Zoroark could have potential to be a cool addition. And he did have a movie, so I'm pretty sure he was considered at some point, and maybe still is.

Also this is great news for Mewtwo! This game has been in development for a long time, the roster is more or less finalized. Sakurai saying "we are considering it" is the only way to not get in trouble with anyone. Mewtwo is in.

If there will be any last minute Sonic like inclusions or Pichu like padding then I say Mewtwo's chances are great.
