KDJ? 0.0
Whaaaaaa-
That's not the same KDJ I'm thinking of is it?

Zairing Barwl style lol. I never figured it would work in melee. I'll try that out at the smashfest I'm going to this weekend.

i can tell you already
vs rockcrock

you first mistake

you jumped

really nice edgeguarding though

currently still watching just so you know

**** on FD, SICK lowriders

very nice

again i say, nice edgeguarding

wow rockcrock is amazing
side b purposely to dodge a missile

man you need to stop jumping so much
at least that's what i think
on to the next ones

i dunno what to do vs luigi so i won't say anything about it
i just see him hitting you a lot lol

vs fullmetal
i kinda wanna say he was toying with you sometimes
i mean because he was doing dumb spikes and trying to up b kill you lol
and aside from that he really did know what to do
this is just first match

alright
again, nice counterpick
you had it until you killed yourself

you can definitely beat this guy it seems like he's not very good vs samus on bigger stages (just saying cuz of the difference from BF to PS)
you have more space to run around and stuff
i'm guessing he banned dreamland?
i think maybe try and be more patient

Yea, jumping is something I've been working on, I just get into that habit fighting non ganons and it works out more often than not, but then when I fight ganons I just have to stay on the ground.

I also need to make smarter decisions when they are shielding. Smash attacks and dancing around his shield was not working but yet I kept doing it.

Idk what to do against luigi's either. I'm guessing I need to CC more.

I got the same feeling about FMTL. I even brought it up with my friend on the ride home.
2nd match is different, though.

oh yeah
and i noticed vs rockcrock
that the first time you used upsmash on his shield, you got away with it, but the second time, he punished it by turning around and grabbing you

i don't remember if you did it any other times

Upsmash shield pokes some times, but apparently not rockcrocks. Lol.
But yea, usually I do well on BF, but lately I've been disliking it vs. marths. No more than YS though.
He did ban dreamland, I was contemplating FD or PS. I really ****ing hate PS transformations. Especially the windmill stage.
I wish I could have brought it to game 3 to see how it went, but it's all good, he's mad chill and I enjoyed our matches.

And yea, missile regrabs I've gotten really consistent with, I was able to implement them fluidly into my game as well, which I think helped a lot. That is also why shffm is something I'm struggling to implement, they are...different.
Rockcrock so far has been the only person (aside from my crew) who has commented on them during a match lol. As I was doing them he said 'nice' ^^

Watching those vids against Rockcrock... man lol
At least the first match. You did significantly better in the second one though. I think you started to figure out how to stop his edgeguarding. You need to space those bombs, man. And throw out those nairs too. If you see him thinking about winding up a fair, do a premature screw attack.
Focusing more on ground game would be good too lol ;P

Now for super theory bros. It looked to me like he had some pretty good shield pressure with Fair. Maybe you should try light shielding or shield toggling? I started doing it with G&W, and it works wonders. If he fairs your light shield you'd slide away from him out of reach.

And super sexy missile regrabs. I'm jealous :D

Idk what to do against luigi's either. I'm guessing I need to CC more.
One of my best friends mains Luigi. CC doesn't work if they see it coming. Nair can mess you up big time, and they can hit you with it as they leave the ground right after they jump.
CC their ftilts, because they'll try approaching with those the most, unless they're spamming double arials. Your missiles can be stopped with Nairs and Fairs, but Luigi can be overwhelmed easily if you put on the pressure.

The easiest way to take off stocks is to edgeguard. Once you have Luigi positioned below the stage, it should be over. A simple drop > Nair will kill him even at stupid low percentages. Watch for missfire lulz

WD back > ftilt is good, mostly because if he's approaching with a wd into a move, he'll keep on sliding right into you. Try not to let him gain the upper hands on platforms, because Luigi actually can combo you if you're not careful. Double arials can be tricky, so your best bet is to WD OoS. He doesn't ever have to Lcancel, so don't bother trying to punish him with a Dsmash after his second arial unless you're CCing.

When off the edge, watch for Bair. Use your air dodge wisely. You can go for grapple gimps if timed right, but it wouldn't be smart to rely on it. Samus is floaty so fireballs are actually a threat, not to mention they can destroy poorly placed bombs.

CP dreamland, you live forever.

Sweet vids :D

Hm I don't remember his fair shield pressure being a problem
I Z cancel my aerials so light shielding is second nature to me, I use it in the peach matchup a lot.

And yea, the first match was pretty demoralizing.
I'm just not use to ganons edgeguarding like that and was caught totally offguard when he just dropped down and fair'd me. Tried to keep out of range as best I could as he did new stuff though.

I'm not sure if it's actually the platforms that help ganon, or if it's my incessant desire to waveland on them which is putting me in bad positions.

My edgeguard on luigi needs definite work. I was unprepared for what he was doing and unsure how to react to it. And it was the same for his edgeguarding, not use to his DJ or bair length, or how far out he could go.

blowtoes, i know this is nitpicky, but "arials" is spelled "aerials"

i know people don't care about grammar online, but this was one of those violations like "their/there/they're" ya know?

also "missfire" is "misfire" (at least i'm pretty sure it is)

sorry lol

The problem with trying to stay grounded vs Ganon, is that he can cover a lot of ground with his ******** Fair and wavelands. Wavedashing into shield against him is pointless when he can grab or space the heck out of you with jabs making your UP+B OOS far too risky. Wavelands into grabs are so swift and annoying because he can waveland-shield grab too, baiting your Screw Attack.

The main way I get my wins is by intercepting his aerials with Nair and trying to combo or setup from it. Knowing when to commit to the attack and running the heck away is key.

Full jump Uairs generally takes care of stomp attempts and annoys Ganon in general. As long as you play smart and don't get above Ganon, you can maintain some semblance of momentum. (however short lived)

I occasionally use aerial Grapple on Jiggs and Peach because they're floaty nature tends to get disrupted by it, especially when aggressive.

Yeah you could have just done a run-off bair when he was ledge stalling and he probably would have died LOL

**** you mean I've been accidentally spelling it arials all this time? D: ARGH
I usually try to avoid spelling mistakes whenever I can. I hate when people use their/there/they're in the wrong context >:[
Thank you sincerely.

And yeah, misfire.

Yeah I'm thinking it'll be useful against bair-happy jiggs players.
Although I'm already visualizing WD OoS into tipped Fsmash vs Marth players. We'll see though.

The matchups that I had in my head when thinking of Zairing were Jiggs and Falco

I've successfully 'zaired' before too. It's good against a floating Peach too I think. Lagless on landing is nice but it's not something to use whenever you think it'll be good, it doesn't do much. :\

ThePrime knows Luigi vs Samus pretty well from the Samus side. I know what to do quite well from both sides but I don't think I'll help cause I'm weird, sorry. My advice would be to not get hit:\

Jab isn't good for either of them. And bad against Ganon too.

The first part of the non-extended grapple can grab out of the air. I know you probably already knew that, but a surprising number of people don't.
And yeah, if the whole extender could grab out of the air that would be amazing haha.

Samus would be top tier if they modeled her completely from super metroid I swear.

I need help. I don't know if anyone here would bother but I'm posting this anyway.

I've really been struggling to narrow down the characters I use in tournament, etc. (a main in general really) I simply can't decide who to play. I enjoy playing them all and have been successful in MMs and tourneys with each of them so none of that has cleared this up for me or been an issue, I just simply don't know who to stick with so even use random often.

If anyone cares about having 1 more Samus player, or wants me to stick with him if you know me or anything, please vote. :\

Any input is good but meaningless votes are completely welcome too if you don't know me/don't care but would still want me to play Samus or something. :)
I just need help. :(

Thanks. hahah

Samus' entire game would change if her grapple was the same speed as Link's.

Oh and if her jumps were faster, her jumps have screwed me so many times.

I hope you mean airspeed, Samus is in the group for fastest jumps lol ;]

Well if you have that much of a problem picking a main, you should just stick to playing with everyone. Instead of just picking random though, you could counterpick your opponents to give you the edge in tourneys. Azen style.
If you've been playing multiple characters up to this point, you might find sticking with a few characters, or even just one character boring.

I didn't know Azen played multiple characters...I thought he was Fox and Marth only or something.
*doesn't watch vids and is new to video games*
lol

Yeah I've heard that a lot recently about sticking with my thing. Thanks.

I wouldn't be able to play 1...going for like 4-6ish right now. It's better than 11 at least. >_>

Azen had an amazing everything.
HugS basically said everything I meant in the other thread, he's just a lot better at wording than I am lol xD

Go for what feels most enjoyable, that way you'll get a better experience from it, and you'll be more inspired to become better.
