Yes. Ike is severely underestimated. He may have very little range, but his smashes are out of the park, his u- and f-tilts are crazy, and never underestimate the power of just tapping the B button for a quick explosion. Even without load, it has a way longer reach than you expect.

My friend laughs at me while he missile spams me with Samus but he's not laughing after Ike's ridiculously powerful muscles have sent him flying into the invisible bug-zapper on the side of the stage.

There is also the group of people (usually among fellow casual players) who crap their pants at the thought of fighting Ike because his attacks do so much damage, and they haven't realized that they can dodge them yet. ^^

Wrong. Soren is his paired ending. And Ike is most definitely gay. :3

And just to add something relevant to the topic--Ike will probably always be below middle tier. The range of his fair, uair, and nair make able to punish other characters for natural delay times (even delay time as small as after an air dodge) and his A-combo is a strong approach, but in the end Ike basically has ONE approach against a grounded opponent (A-combo, of course. Even most characters can grab you out of a nair before you even hit the ground) and that will forever doom him to being unable to compete in the metagame.

No approach = defensive character
Defensive character with no projectiles = only able to compete against other defensive, no-projectile characters. And there aren't many of those.
