sigh.

Thats what I'm talking about, man. "Two days left", basically meaning that those three only have two days to live, meaning they would die. We're on the same page here.

Mafia hosts often spice up the narration of the game with pointless description, especially knowing Eor. What happened to Yeroc is there is a character that has a role known as a 'bartender', their ability is to vote block. The person's actually name doesn't have to be "bartender", for all we know it is Dodongo. The person chose Yeroc because he or she felt that he is a careless voter and therefore that person decide to stop Yeroc from voting. It has no relation to the bruises. Vote blockers are always town, unless the game is unorthodox.

Just a clarification.

Ah, yes, the role name could be Dodongo, or McDonald's waitress or Chinese acrobat or anything. "Bartender" is just a name given to roles that vote block.

So, anyone is anything. How much further are we now? Okay, here is my thinking on the 3 people all bruised. They could just be getting hit up and then one of them randomly will get killed at night, I think that this is an independent effect, in which case the hitman. However, since Eor is crazy and creative(most of the time..) he may have given us the three possible kills for that hitman.

I need to do hammer votes for my role. Just realized I never clarified that.
Ah, I skimmed through the thread once before and couldn't find this, but I did not. It's not nearly as concrete as I was hoping it would be, I thought it would be Ronike saying he can only hammer vote.

Is that your only reason for voting him? Because spam was ready to wage all out war on <3 at the end of day one, so I don't think it was <3's joke that set him off.
He hasn't voted for him.

Earlier in the game, some of us has suspected <3 of being Misa/Kira. In the anime/manga, Misa was given the shinigami eyes at the cost of half of her lifespan. If <3 is Misa, then maybe <3 can gain the ability of the shinigami eyes at the cost like it takes half as many votes to take him down or something.

The only problem I noticed with this scenario is that if <3 is Misa and is also Kira and can get shinigami eyes, then that would make <3 overpowered and I doubt Eor would let such a thing happen. Unless the power of being overpowered in Trigun mafia went to his head and made him insane and mad with power. lol
Any Death Note owner can get the Shinigami Eyes, provided they have a shinigami to trade with. But in the anime Misa does it (twice!) and Light refuses to. So it's possible that Light can't make the deal and Misa can. Or, Misa starts the game having made the deal. And, if <3 was Misa, why would he say something like that to give it away? I'm pretty sure, early on I talked about the possiblity of Kira making the Eye Deal, even with the same consequences you thought of (requires half as many votes to lynch) it makes me think you just have cryptamnesia.

And your second paragraph simply doesn't make sense. Misa also being Kira? What do you mean? It would not be weird or overpowered for Misa to have a Death Note, she has one in the anime and if she can see people's roles and it takes half as many votes to lynch her, that seems fair to me. There are a lot of ways the shinigami eyes could work.

Although it may be possible that Misa can see people's roles, but doesn't have a Death note, and Light can't see people's roles but has one. They'd be in a masonry or mafia together, and every night Misa can investigate someone to discover their role and Light can write someone's name in the Death Note. I think this may be true because it explains why someone wasn't killed last night, Light's only viable target was Lombardi who had roleclaimed, but he was probably protected. If they could see someone's name and kill them at the same time, they should have gone for someone who wouldn't be protected.

It may also be the case that <3 is Misa, and has made the eye deal and has a Death Note, but hasn't killed because he can only make the eye deal at night and can't kill until it's been done. However, in the anime, Ryuk says the eye deal can be done at any time, just like that, so I doubt this is the case. It's also possible that Misa has the ability to make the eye deal, but has not done so, so no kills.

Here's something we can do, though I don't really want to since <3 could still be Misa and Town. But if it comes out that Kira is mafia or independent, we should get <3's vote count up to half it takes to lynch. If he's a Death note user who's made the eye deal, he'll probably die. Heck, if someone dies by Kira who hasn't roleclaimed, we should half-vote everyone. I know this is a big plan that would take a while, but I think it would be worth it if the time comes.

Man, I forgot to elaborate on the Ronike think. I was just excited about using Multiquote, it was the first time I've tried it. Don't know why, since it's right there, and I've always wondered how to do multiple quotes...

But what I was getting at was, Ronike said he needs to hammer vote, and early on he wouldn't vote people but only say he'd hammer them, making it look like he could definitely only hammer. Then he non-hammer voted. But it's obvious he just gets some benefit from hammer voting, and he wasn't lying when he said he needs to do hammer votes for his role.

Been Lurking cause I've had nothing to say. I know its bad, but really, had nothing to say, so I didn't. Ill try to be active from now on.

As for my role, I've said it many a time, Ill say it again: I don't get a benefit, I counter a negative of my role. I can further clarify if you want, but I'd be opening myself up to Kira...

The only thing people have been questioning about your role is that you have to hammer vote. I think its absolutely fine for everyone to accept that your role has to hammer vote to counter a negative trait, and you don't need to go any further unless a situation arises where it will directly benefit us.

Redcell, I wouldn't mind getting <3, or anyone really, to half the amount of vote necessary, to prove/disprove the shinigami eyes theory.

Sorry, I've been lurking as well, but I've really just been thinking.
I think we are putting to much emphasis on the bruises.
I mean, it said that it looks like someone hit them around, but other than that, they are fine.
Why isn't anyone commenting more on the song? A few people made comments, but I'm curious as to who's character would result in a song being played.
I mean, the song was labeled: Funeral March, Perhaps someone is a musician who can distract the mafia? I have no idea, but I'm way more interested in that than the bruising.

Well, there's the possibility(albeit unlikely) that <3 could've slipped up or was hoping no one would notice that. Although I have to say, that seems to be a pretty bold move for <3 to hope that no one would notice, imo.

Huh, must've missed your eye deal then. Oh well.

Well, if Misa does have the eyes and a death note then she would be able to find out who is who(character and possibly role wise depending on the character) and just pick off the important people or people with potential abilities one by one. And although she would need half as many votes, there is the possibility that it could be somebody else besides <3(although I think that it is very unlikely).

I'd be willing to help out with your idea, although this could be a wild goose chase since we could be wrong about the "half votes needed to lynch"idea. That and we would have to wait for Eor to say something about the lynch(if it succeeds)

As your post shows that you don't know, that means I should probably clarify.

If somebody reaches the amount needed to lynch, they're dead, even if someone unvotes before I get there. Once that last vote is placed, day's over.

I think it's very possible that someone other than <3 is Misa. Her talking in third person isn't really a huge part of her character compared to some other stuff, so being Misa wouldn't necessitate speaking in third person. But another character more known for speaking in third person (say, Bob Dole) might get it as a role restriction.

And we wouldn't have to wait for Eor to say anything about the lynch. If someone gets enough votes to die at any point, then they die, even if people take their votes off before the mod says anything. Plus, it might not just work for Misa but for regular Kira as well, even though he doesn't take the deal in the anime, it is available to him.

And I really do think that, if any sort of Eye Deal is available, the consequence will be taking half as many votes to lynch. Some other possibilities:

Kira has a set date of death, for example say he has ten days. In the anime, everyone has a set time of death, if they make the eye deal then their remaining lifespan is halved. So it could be that Kira starts out that he will automatically die on night ten (similar to a suicidal townie role which automatically dies night one) and if he makes the eye deal he has until day 5, or whatever.

It's also possible that they have night kill protection, which would get removed if they make the deal. But that would mean they start out with the ability to kill and are unkillable until they make the deal.

But yeah, either way, going around getting everyone to half-votes would take forever at this stage in the game anyways, but I think it would work.

Well then, for the sake of proving/disproving this theory, lets get 7 votes for <3. I believe we already have one, because spam_master voted for <3 after going after him the second half of day 1.

Please note that while everyone has their suspicions of <3, I would normally not have enough evidence to be confident in a vote against him. I'm only doing this to start the process, to test the half vote theory.

Really, from the sounds of it, we could half vote everyone in succesion without Eor posting after each one. If one of the people who got half voted had that consequence, they would die no matter what. (Unless there are two kira's who both made the deal, then the first would die)

You know, I'm fine with half-voting <3, because there's some reasonable suspicion that he might be Misa, and that Misa might only need half the number of votes to be lynched. Also, I think it's incredibly likely that Misa is town.

But what we shouldn't do is half-vote every player in this game. Why? Because a townie role is just as likely to have the half-vote handicap as a mafia or independent role, and we don't want to go around, carelessly doing things where we have more chance of killing off a townie than a mafia member.

Well, I don't see too much harm in this at all. If he doesn't have this restriction then he won't die and we wait for more evidence to fully lynch him (Or we just don't lynch him yet or whatever...). If he does die, then I wouldn't have much doubt that he is Kira or Misa. I find it very unlikely that either are town, also. So why not?

Woah, now, Mr. Lombardi. Woah, now.

The point of this isn't to take one more step closer to "fully lynching" <3. The point it to test a theory on the Shinigami Eyes deal that <3 might have and might have made if he might be Kira or Misa. Get it?

What you just said sounded like you really want <3 dead.

I'm not sure I want to do this now, as Kira and Misa might be town. If that's the case, they could roleclaim, and it wouldn't be as dangerous since they don't have Kira to worry about since they're him, but it would still give away a very important role so we shouldn't run the votes up on them yet.

Besides, I don't think the eye deal has even been made yet. Kira hasn't killed anybody, but if he made the eye deal, he would be able to. He likely wouldn't make the deal so early, with someone having roleclaimed and all. But, it's possible that Misa starts out with the eye deal, since her use of it was so prominent in the series. And she still failed to kill someone for whatever reason--roleblocked, doctored, didn't know who to kill, etc.

Man, if you guys keep voting and <3 turns out to be Misa and town I'll feel like some kind of mad scientist meddling with things with which man was not meant to meddle.

But the thing is, even if they did roleclaim, that doesn't instantly make them innocent. I don't know, before everyone was saying how they thought Kira/Misa definitely wasn't town, but now everyone is all cautious. Maybe it is unlikely that they made the deal so far also. Eh, I still think it's worth a try.

Alright so, I bet you're all thinking "jeez its about time frozen said something, that no good lurking piece of ****." I won't lie to you, I'd probably be thinking the same thing if I were giving everything I could to contribute and add momentum to this hulking chaotic mass of a game.

So I suppose I'd better explain myself. Well for one, i suppose I could try to toss the scholastic excuse card around a bit, but I doubt that'd get me very far seeing as how I bet most of you were enduring the same grueling college app. process. Yeah, that coupled with some intense end of second semester cramming did a nice job of keeping me busy, but of course thats a lame excuse. Just thought I'd toss it out there.

Alright so, why was I REALLY so inactive? Well, as I recall I posted voicing my suspicion of KevinM which I clearly failed to qualify or explain. I promised that I'd be back after some research on the aforementioned subject's behavior, but alas before I could piece anything of substance together we saw the end of day one.

So, there I was thinking "alright finally a break in this tidal wave of posts! I can finally catch up!" Logically I reasoned upon catching up I'd find something worth commenting on; surely I'd find something groundbreaking or at the very least somewhat fresh. I was quite disappointed when I reached Eor's transitory post and realized that every idea I'd come up with had been sufficiently covered. All I could see were the same idea being beaten over and over and over again with nothing particularly new bubbling to the surface. Being one who hates redundancy I felt obligated not to add to it. I took on the passive play style (atleast temporarily) of a well renowned player on another mafia forum by the name of BabyJesus. The guy literally contributes the absolute minimum he possibly can to any game he plays. He's a highly observant player with one of the finest scumdars I've ever seen. He simply bides his time and waits for whatever it is he's waiting for someone to do. His typical response to post he doesn't agree with or questions he finds pointless with a simple "NOT HELPFUL" and an accompanying red X, and often votes with little more than a short quip that serves as a sample of his enigmatic reasoning. Yeah, doesn't seem like a very helpful player does he? I'd agree, he really isn't, especially to those who've never dealt with him before. As such, I don't intend to emulate him, but I figured giving his play style a try by simply observing could do me some could in this hard to follow game. Forcing myself to simply read and analyze without comment really made the process of catching up that much smoother.

So now the expectation arises that if I'm going to try and pull such a stunt I'd better have something to show for it. Sorry, guys, I don't really have anything new and amazing at the moment.

However I will comment on the current movement regarding the testing of the "Misa/Shinigami Eyes" speculation. My current belief is that Misa and Light (Or just Kira for those of you who think it might not be Light, however my beliefs are based on the opposite assumption) currently are unaware of whom each other are. Much like in the anime/manga, Misa is initially doing everything she can to find out who Kira is. As such, I believe that Kira is an independent with the ability to instantly kill anyone who role name he can decipher. Misa on the other hand, is likely Town aligned with the ability to make the shinigami eyes deal on any given night in order to allow her to discover the role name of any character she pleases, at the expense of halving the require vote threshold expected for a lynch. Furthermore, I believe that she must operate with a unique win condition that Light must survive in order for her to win. I also wouldn't be surprised if she was forced to commit suicide upon Kira's death.

So obviously, testing out the halved vote threshold theory is indeed appealing to me.

Vote: <3

I believe that's the third vote on this page. Anyone know how many votes he has total?

Oh god, have I created a monster?

Neither Ronike nor <3 are online right now. I don't believe potentially killing someone before they can get a word in is a good idea. Part of me would want to give Misa/Kira time to prove himself to be town. But, if we do that, and they're mafia, we'll lose a townie before finding out they're not. But, even if they are independent, they would try to kill mafia because killing a townie would mean a lynching the next day. When the endgame comes, they will obviously not be trusted, but for the time being it could be in our benefit. Although, we might not even be able to tell when someone dies via Death Note, since a person can write down any cause of death. But I don't think that ability would be in this game, but then again the eye deal might not be either.

I dont have a bruising ability. I have an ability which's description has me beating people violently. Bruising would be a natural result. So my theory is that there are other people like me who have abilities of a violent form, might be good or bad. I have no first hand confirmation yet. Just a thought.

And the Misa/Kira relationship Frozen described was one I had in mind as well.

I'd like to vote <3 out of curiousity for this theory, but I'd feel bad stealing Ronike's dibbed 7th vote... ;-;

<3, I'm pretty sure you answered this, but there are 88 pages for me to check. I'd like you to answer for the sake of saving time. mmmk?

Why are you talking third person? If it is a restriction, have you been punished for slipping up? If it is not a restriction, why do you continue doing it? If you have been punished, what is it (as long as it doesn't reveal anything too big about your role if it's important)?

we should do 8 votes (14/2 + 1) , and not just me everyone.

The logic of voting half for <3 and no one else is silly, it defeats the purpose in a way. <3 has as much chance as anyone of being town and having a half vote weakness.

Oh, and while Im on the subject, my semester exams are next week, so Ill be more active afterwards. At least, until smash comes out...
