I still don't see anything special about this one. It looks like something somebody with modest photoshop skills could create. Statistically such screenshots are much more often than not fakes.

Having said that, your arguments are kinda flimsy. Marth has a line through his head because he's translucent and his character CLEARLY hasn't been selected yet. There's a lack of a cursor because it might well disappear when you pick up your character token in order to take up less screen space and make character choices easier for multiple people trying to choose the same character.

Personally, I'm in the camp that this is fake, too, but what better to discuss in the E3 Leaks and Rumors section than E3 Leaks and Rumors? If you have something better to talk about, by all means, enlighten us.

So, remind me why everyone is soo gung ho about it being K.Rool or Dixie next to Diddy? Olimar would fit just as well since all those characters are made by Miyamoto, and Olimar is an anagram of Mario with an L added.

• Characters line up with Gematsu + Ridley and Mewtwo. Maybe K Rool if Wolf/ROB/Lucas are cut
• The reality is convincing. A beta version of the demo at Best Buy. Hiding camera to prevent tracking location/leaker. Pixelation when image is close.
• If faked, the fake was made well. Someone of this level would not leave obvious plotholes such as the odd numbers above the characters. Also the characters being unlocked along the way. It's odd enough that the faker wouldn't do that. More likely, the leaker just took pics and uploaded them fast as he could.
• Post being removed within 2 hours of posting. (Caught?)
• A leak very soon after a character reveal, not even showing that character. (Ike).

Cons

• Ridley not being fully shown. He would be the only character to not have art already made, which would be hard to fake for a leaker.

I would argue that 100%. Every leak we've seen so far after a character reveal involves that character to play it safe and be relevent. This does not focus on Ike at all. Let alone show his art.

Snake could theoretically still be in if he's to the left of Sonic. In fact no characters from Brawl, other than Ivysaur and Squirtle, were necessarily cut with this roster. The Pokemon slots may not extend to six, and it could be a one off character, like Captain Falcon, under Samus.

Obviously this game is not being 100% consistent with past games. Not having a subtitle, etc. All these menu changes give it more merit. Because it's not playing it safe. Which is what leaks usually do

The "leaker" could photoshop a picture then upload it to his TV, and most photoshop detectors wouldn't know, since the photo of tv itself would be legit.

This leaks could actually be a bad news for my most wanted paper mario but the only way that he's there would have to rep his own series but again why being so far of mario? I like ridley there but I'm liked "worried" now.

My #1 character, Bandana Dee also might not be there.

However my idea would be that MetaKnight is to the left of Kirby because MetaKnight is pretty special, and Bandana Dee is to the right of King Dedede.

Who knows? Someone else in another topic also brought up a good point, that it's possible that it's being controlled through the Wii U tablet touchscreen, but I argued if it's a demo unit they likely shipped 'em with Wiimotes and not the Wii U tablets, but who knows? There's so many possibilities that it's worth discussing, at least in my opinion.

But, again, like I said, I've got my grains of salt handy. It's just fun to talk about.

The trouble with many of those Pros is that any fake leaker who was trying to be convincing would use that already known information. It hardly affects the probability at all because a leaker is unlikely to be so out of the loop and wants to be convincing.

The image went down because 4chan prunes thread after they reach a certain post count (by no longer allowing he to be bumped, ultimately causing them to 404 when they fall behind). That particular thread at over 620 reponses, most threads 404 before that.

That could be the base for the faker to create the leak though, also Sakurai showed us the For Fun/For Glory screen that uses the same UI.

You could technically explain that away as wanting to have everything aesthetically similar. If you did it Wii Fit TRAINER instead of WII FIT TRAINER like everyone else's, you're gonna have some OCD people go nuts. In fact, I'd bet money on whoever did the menus might've been OCD himself and vouched for having everything similar.

I don't think it's been mentioned, but he's said that Little Mac and Mega Man only appear in the tournament version, not the public/best buy version. That's rather sketchy (why make two versions of a demo?) and that it doesn't explain Ridley not being in the original posted pics.

Am betting on it being fake because 4chan, Ridley, and what I mentioned below. If it's real then great, but the guy is going to have to speak up more to give themselves more credit, though it is a well made "leak."

Well, this was a strange leak I honestly can't have any opinion on it now. It's basically like the sal leak but the sal leak is proven credible while this one frankly doesn't because of 4chan. So, I will consider it not existing until proven to be true like the sal leak because, it has hood chance to be fake or real.
