Capcom: I'm hoping for Devil May Cry 5 or a new Darkstalkers

Namco Bandai: Soul Calibur 5 maybe....?
if capcom announces a new darkstalkers or a new jojo fighting game (or even just hd updates to those 2) i'll cream my jeans.

and something tells me there isn't gonna be a new soul calibur this year (probably due to the fact tekken 7 just got announced not to long ago)

the main things i want at this year's e3 is a home port of vf5ft, a nintendo crossover, and eba 2/ouendan 3.

@finlark: Contra Rebirth. Wiiware Exclusive. Look it up. Also Contra 4 DS.

I think we'll have a better chance of seeing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, which is another attempt to bring the franchise into 3D.

I honestly want another CV game that is mostly linear with the 8-way whip control SCIV had.

Here are my thoughts of E3:

- Their needs to be a new DK game that is adventure. The N64 one was the last piece of amazingness, and it needs to be revived.

- Zelda better make a good appearance, because I have my hopes so high I can't see them anymore

- I have a feeling 3DS will be important too, and Pokemon may make a small glipse.

- I'm not sure what else the plans are for E3, I'm not big into Sony/Microsoft, but I'd like to see more info on FFXIV/FFXV(It's comin' just wait)

Also I liked Starfox adventures, but a good spaceship game would be epic. F-zero would also be nice, the old Nintendo themes would be revived!

I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT PLAYS VIRTUA FIGHTER!!!!

Anyway, I'm not really into Tekken so... yeah. I'd still rather have SCV, though.

I'll go check those two out. As for Lords of Shadow.... it could be good, but I do agree with the SCIV thing.

Unless something insane happens with someone else, I'm betting Nintendo's going to steal the show with Zelda Wii.

There's quite a bit of info out on PKM blk/wht, but I agree with you on the bit about the 3DS.

MS and Sony are probably going to just be shoving the Eye Toy 2 Project Natal and the Wiimote 2 PlayStation Move down our throats. I'm hoping for Sly 4 and Jak 4 from Sony though.

Project Natal is no more! It is now called "Kinect" and will launch with the following titles: (http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/13/kinect-library-for-xbox-360-revealed-by-usa-today/)

- Kinectimals features over 20 different virtual pets, including lions, tigers, and cheetahs, to play with or raise.
- Joyride has returned to life as a controller-free racing game, apparently.
- Kinect Sports will offer sport games to play: "boxing, bowling, beach volleyball, track and field, soccer and table tennis." For each one, you will make motions to play the games.
- Kinect Adventures has a river raft and obstacle course to navigate -- this is likely the demo we saw last week.
- MTV Games will release Dance Central, where you can cut a virtual rug.

And there will be more games announced later featuring both Disney characters and Star Wars characters, in conjunction with Disney and LucasArts, respectively.

And an image of the rumoured Xbox 360 Slim.

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/13/rumor-xbox-360-slim-and-kinect-outed-by-microsoft-ad/

It will also tout a 250GB HDD, built-in WiFi, and compatibility with "Kinect".

Finalark, here is the thing. This sounds ignorant, like what an old person would say about music, but I miss the old Donkey Kong. Bongo Games are fun...but kids are going to grow up wondering why DK is a powerhouse in Brawl D: if they don't make another adventure game.

Also, Zelda will probably steal the spotlight. I'm not too sure what Microsoft does, I'm not really into them, but Sony doesn't interest me too much either. Unless they whip out something unexpected or some FFXIV/FFXV/FFXIII (the better version for ps3 only) it's yawn for me.

I forgot one important thing: Pikmin 3. The lack of Pikmin 3 is really aggravating me, I mean am I the only one who loved that series and saw potential?

I was never a big fan of strategy games but yeah, Pikmin has some serious potential to be milked to death one of Nintendo's top franchises.

I gotta wonder why the XBOX 360 didn't have built in Wi-Fi in the first place, or the Wii with ethernet for that matter because I can't go online with that thing at college.

Wow. I didn't see the DK game like that.. the one I saw was very similar to Guitar Hero bongo style O_o That game looks fun. I'd accept a DK game like that, or an old school one.

Am I the only man on this planet who actually liked Dinosaur Planet Star Fox Adventures?

Star Fox was the first N64 game I ever got. I played it to death several billion times. When I got a gamecube (mainly for Melee and SC2) and heard a Star Fox was coming for it I was ecstatic. I borrowed the game from a friend and was sorely disappointed.

We have enough adventure/3rd person shooter/action games out there, Star Fox used to be pretty original. Command was alright but I didn't really like the whole "strategy" element with clearing fog, moving ships, etc...

Holy crap me! Geist had sooooooo much wasted potential, I'd love to see a sequel in which you actually got to scare people in whatever way you'd like rather than being bound to just one set path.

My thoughts exactly. And how awesome would a good multiplayer be?

DK Jungle Beat, or is everyone just going to suck by overlooking a super fun game just 'cause of the bongos?

Same with Star Fox, I grew up loving DK Country and I won't accept anything else I'm afraid. Not my kinda game.
Parodius is Japan only. This is made clear by the fact that the portable collection of the Parodius games on PSP never had exports IIRC.

A man can hope can't he!? :bee:
I bought Parodius Portable... I love that series so much, I wish Konami would make another one. Could happen considering that a new Gradius has come out recently.

REALLY? It was mentioned before E3 2005? If that's the case, if that Kirby game is not announced or mention at E3, I'm going to start calling it
"Kirby's Dreamland Forever".

Haha. Nice.
True, I also guess that most people just weren't happy with a Legend of Star Fox.
Yup. I like my Star Fox how it is.

I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT PLAYS VIRTUA FIGHTER!!!!

You're right, I guess that makes 2. ;)

Am I really the only one that liked DK Jungle Beat?

You're probably the only one who even tried it.

Unless something insane happens with someone else, I'm betting Nintendo's going to steal the show with Zelda Wii.

Agreed.

Agreed.

That's what we all thought until it came out.

A large percentage of us just stuck to Melee afterwards
Hopefully Ninty's learnt from their mistake. Besides, the hype I had for SSBB was amazing, even if the game didn't deliver. I remember waiting for the updates, discussing on forums, creating character movesets, etc... It just felt really great, the build-up and everything.

Because Microsoft makes a killing off of their overpriced accessories.

This, ladies and gents, is why it's okay to try something different.

Seriously, though, if you're going to try DK Jungle Beat do your best to get a hold of the GC Version with the Bongos. The Wii Port was.... poor, if memory serves.

@Grim Tuesday: SF Adventures was actually the game that introduced me to Star Fox which is probably why I'm much nicer to it. And some goes for SF Assault, nobody gave that game a chance!

Hey Mic, this is off-topic, but you're Australian right? Any chance you know of any good SA smashers to play against or tournaments? I can't seem to find any action...
Don't they have a thread in the Aussie regional room? If not send a PM to Caotic, he'd be the best guy to ask about it.

True, I also guess that most people just weren't happy with a Legend of Star Fox.
The problem was it had a number of faults. annoying sidekick, super long unskippable 'you just got ____!' scene, being teased with Starfox 64 when going from section to section, the complete stupidity that was the General Scales fight, if it can be even be called that....

The Starfox series reminds me of the Sonic series (except Starfox isn't milked).
I'm hoping for a back to basics Starfox game that feels like 64.

Adventures didn't really interest me. Assault was okay, but it felt like it was missing something for me.

Okay, I'm confused. Spike has the conference on their channel at 12:30 CST, but the Gamespot counter is saying it's at 10:00 CST. I'm confused.

@DK - Even if I gave it a chance and liked it, I still want another normal DK game.
@SF - I played Assault cause I heard it had the flying in it, not surprisingly, I enjoyed the flying and not the on-land stuff.

They have a thread, but only for one monthly Smash tourney that I haven't checked out yet (Streetgeek I think they are called). But I'm more looking for people to play against generally, I'll PM Chaotic about it, thanks for the suggestion!

Dude I also had hype like no other! When I heard that Sonic was gonna be in there, I nearly crapped my pants. When I was at my friends, I was like super hyper just to play the god**** game.

I liked it at first, but then I realized that some of my favorite character's movesets sucked balls i.e. Sonic

Then... I just stick to it because

A: it has wi fi
B: I don't have melee
C: All of the above

Before you guys get at me because I don't have Melee, I gave it to my little cousin who I figured benifitted more from having Melee than me (You know how little kids are right? They see you can beat the crap out of their favorite characters and they get ecstatic :p)

So Project Natal is now called something else eh?

Starfox and F-Zero will never happen again I figure.

I'm slightly curious what they're gonna do with Zelda Wii

They had better not reveal the pokemon leaked already if they decide to reveal some pokemon for B/W today

I would kill for some information if they ever decide to reveal SSB4

I want GoW3 so bad, I'll murder anybody for a copy of the game brought back in time from the future

Same thing with Black Ops, only on a slightly smaller scale

I wonder when they'll make a new wii/xbox/ps console...

It happens about every 7 years or so. The time is coming Roach. (You said new console) I wouldn't count F-Zero out by the way. (Definatly not Starfox either) Though Captain Falcon scares me, those games are amazingly fun. (Better than Mario Kart imo)

I really think one on the Wii would be fun, but oh well. I know Zelda won't let me down, but I really wish Pikmin 3 would happen.

On another note there has been rumors of a new Chrono Trigge game, but I highly doubt it. Though it'd be nice if Square Enix did that, because while Final Fantasy can go on forever (since each game is new, etc etc) it's nice to see them expand their other franchises. (Except Dragon Quest, it can go die)

I'm expecting for the PS3 to be around for a while, the **** thing has some solid tech in it that will give it a lengthy lifespan. The Xbox 360, on the other hand, is kind of starting to show it's age (a major disadvantage to anyone who launches first) so I'd expect the Xbox 720 to be announced soon. As for the Wii... I wouldn't expect anything until it stops printing money.

It happens about every 7 years or so. The time is coming Roach. (You said new console)
I'd say it's closer to five or six years. I'm really hoping it happens soon, I'm sick of this generation of gaming.

Thank you.

That's more or less my main problem with Square, they put out a billion FFs and DQs (although I've never actually played any of the DQs) and they just kind of ignore the rest of their franchises (barring Manna, that series gets a new game every so often).

I liked this generation for Nintendo, they excelled very well. PS3 didn't start functioning well until the late of the generation, but it's okay. I'm not a 360 person so I don't know anything about that.

As for DQ games, never play them. They are FF-rejects. And yes, Square Enix has so many potential titles, yet they focus on their main crop too much.

A new Chrono Trigger would be amazing, a new Drakengard would be amazing. Even more Star Ocean would work. They need to expand on their titles with 3~4 games and let FF die for a few years, then bring it back solid with FFXV, which hopefully will excel compared to FFXIII

And I think it'll be more like 7 this time. No one seems to have any plans for new consoles, so I can't see it being really soon. PS3 has no need for a new console, 360 is updating, and Wii is... I don't know what they do to do so **** good.

I love DQ games and I don't consider them FF rejects at all (especially since DQ came first).
DQ isn't for everyone though so I can understand why you don't like it. Dragon Quest doesn't emphasize on story and the battle system is archaic.

I still think it's a fun series to try out for those that have never played a DQ game.

Also, I think Square-Enix is being a little more diverse now than they were before. They're not just focusing on their main sellers.
They have been trying out new IPs and resurrecting old ones (Parasite Eve) whenever they can.

I'm all for battle system, but I played 5 and 8 and they were terrible there too. On 8 it felt like if you wern't using the spear you were dumb on Hero. Maybe I played bad DQs? They are not bad as games, but not SE material, or at least how it feels.

They are being more diverse, wish KH3 would come out, screw Roxxas, but yeah.

As for Brawl, its one SSB per console. I think that is their pattern.

VIII was fun in its own way, but it wasn't my favorite. I actually really liked V.
I played DQ and FF around the same time and enjoyed both of them.

If you didn't like V and VIII, I think that's fine since DQ isn't for everyone because of how old the series feel. But yeah, since you've played it and you didn't find those two games fun, then I wouldn't bother trying out more since they're more or less the same.

What evidence do we have for that? I wouldn't call 2 games a "pattern".

That's like if I said, "Hey guys, what's the next number in this sequence? 1, 72, ?"
It's actually three consoles now, if you count N64, and it's just a hunch. The wii is on the end of it's years, heck all the consoles are. They want to wait for the next gen, I'm pretty sure of it.

And when I played DQ8 I was a freshmen..god that was 4 years ago X_X. I'm more open now so I suppose I should try them again, I hated Super Mario Sunshine back then but now I adore it so who knows. I just wish the Hero had a name.

I did like how Angelo was a Trunks!

Edit: Does Rare even exist anymore?

LOL yeah, he pretty much is Trunks.
DQ's more about the adventure that you, the player, are having rather than the plot, which is why I usually name the hero after myself.

And I'll be surprised if Nintendo does announce another Smash game so soon. I don't see the need for them to do so.
If they are making another one, then that'd be quite nice.

I would laugh if Nintendo themselves announced a "competitive Brawl" as a way to tell SWF to shut up lol.
