Yeah I agree. I seem to wake up really quickly while dreaming, or have short sleeps. Stupid dreams. Stupid stupid dreams.
Apparently if you dream it means you aren't sleeping well...

This is how backwards I am. I'm on Diazepam (Valium) because I'm mental, which is supposed to have a side effect of suppressing REM sleep, yet I'm having more dreams now than ever before.Dreams actually mean that you are sleeping well...
They can only happen during the REM stage of sleep which is the deepest sleep....When you are essentially paralised (stops you acting out the dream)
Scrubs is right about everything.Dreams actually mean that you are sleeping well...

Lucid dream is one where your brain is in the process of dreaming, yet a part of your brain is unusually awake and aware that the supposed sights/sounds/experiences you are facing are in fact a dream. Often, you realise that you are in a dream because something is amiss - some suggest checking to see if the clock hands change time erratically, or if pinching yourself causes no pain, or even trying to read the pages of a book.Is that a ordinary dream or a lucid dream? Or a dream that is telling you what you should do LOL.
Oh wow. I always thought it was a sign that I had Vertigo. That's a cool theory, I choose to believe it.One of my psychology lecturers has his own interesting take on the very popular "falling dream" and its variants. He says that when lying down, the nerves on your back have that tactile sensation of the mattress beneath you. After a while, the sensation of the mattress nullifies as your body becomes accustomed to that continuous touch stimulus. Essentially, you are ignoring the presence of touch that you get from the mattress due to being exposed to it over a long period of time. This probably peaks at some point, where your brain thinks "OMFG nothing is supporting my back", and the first thing it runs through is a simulation of falling.
