Well, I kinda get what your saying but it's a good tech to know. you'd be surprised at how often you do it in fluid playing.

somehow i find that insulting (ur calling alot of ppl like scatz and dyz here noobs dood, just a heads up, cause i get them with it, and dyz agrees with me that its alot easier to use and its still fairly good)

I apologize, i didnt mean that. I was just reading your post and completely disagreed with it. dodging should already be part of everyones game (especially when you are playing yoshi) , its no replacement to DR. You can't compare those two.

that being said, if you end up dodging and punishing everyone of your opponents attack...there is something wrong.

did i call scatz a noob, and whos dyz?

Who is Dyz? Lmao.

Scat is no noob, but are you beating him when you do it. Cause if it's not like completely owning Scat I see no sub.

That being said Scat would recommend DR to til the day he dies.

Why are we talking like this is offline matches? I could care less what happens online, and as a matter of fact, I don't take many matches seriously since my college-offline dose, and for DR/DT, you have to commit to when you want to use it. It needs reaction (which is why it's much more useful than online), and it needs precision. Both of those are taken out of the equation since you can only rely on prediction to get somewhere (yeah I know you can still react, but it's significantly harder to pinpoint things like you want).

all that im proving is that sidestep smashes are good, no matter how much u may say its "predictable"
predictable or not, it does lessen the distance between oneslef and another. amen. there ya go. happy birthday.

Lessens the distance? No. All it does is dodges and then does a smash.

Anyways, that's a basic thing. Sidestepping is a staple. But smashing out of it is just an option. Not like it's anything important. It is good to use "occasionally", but if you use it as much as your implying....you have to be so predictable. That's one of the main reasons I like DR, if you use it sparingly you don't expect a smash out of a dash.

wait what???
ur moving BACKWARD and then smashing, it gives u distance between urself and your oppenent. Significantly? no. does it still lessen it by enough to be precise enough to move back just enough and then forward smash? YES. i know it does, and if ur still saying it doesnt i will litterally post up a vid dedicated to showing u that it does move u backward.
edit: or foward
2nd and last edit: here ya go - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_BRDHv9EDI&feature=channel_page

my mistake, i thought that was called sidestepping (isnt that called dodging though?)
whatever then i meant rolling my mistake my mistake lmfao ur such a **** ;)
I hadn't watched the vid, now I edited it. But still the distance isn't worth it, and you can't do it out of a dash. And that'll decay your Fsmash so fast if you keep doing that. o_o

I hope you don't do that in matches...please dear god say you don't.

Can you do it forward, and cancel it with a tilt?

Sorry, I'm just showing you a DR isn't all smashes. You can use tilts and jabs to. Hell even a taunt.

lol real news?
Cause I've been using Classic controller all this time for DR/DT. I've gotten sick of it cause it has problems with things around the Wii (like anything in the vicinity will make the connection hiccup). So, I'm going back to GC and using all my techs there. Besides, I just post random **** here cause I can.

Scat I found out that using DR Dtilts continuosly doesn't kill your momentum,so you keep going forward. Best way to use it is c stick tilts.

What controller setting are you using the the GC controller?
I'm using Z = Shield
R = Grab
L = Attack
B = Jump
X = Special

You can Dtilt easily while doing this. I've done it a few times. The only problem is that they perfect shield mine when I'm attempting to combo >.>

EDIT: GOD **** MY CONTROLLERS ARE ****ING GAY! The control stick on my GC is ****ed up and now I have no other alternative controller left (and I'm not buying anymore. So, I'm mainly stuck with broken GCs, two CCs, and a nyko wing )

Yeah, true about the perfect shielding.

Scrap the controllers and make a working one. Modding isn't hard.

Imo, it sucks (it's mainly meant for small hands only and there's no attachment to make it fit for bigger people).

Chaco: I've just decided to stay with the CC. It's my best controller that works, and I'll have too much trouble going to get the tools and doing all the modding ****.

Yeah it's a pain, and sometime soon, ask people on campus for a spare GC. People should have plenty.

isnt that just ur perspective of what you've lived through, not his?

Anyways, normally people have GC controllers that are old and they don't use. $5 and you've got a replacement. I have 4 spares. o_O

Well I have a lot of cousins and stuff who kept them and gave them to me. I use my modded WB . I save dit and got rid of the c stick for another analog and got rid of the Z button, and use X as grab now.

OK so I'm making a superuber serious attempt to get DR down now, I've decided. I'm going x-x-a, because anything else is just gonna mess me up more, and I've tried changing my controls up to all of Scatz' suggestions to no avail. I think I'm getting it somewhere between a fourth and a third of the time now, but I'll get there! And woe to NY when I do. XD
