Why would I be in denial? I want Nahobino (or any SMT rep) as the last character.

They haven't based the entire pass around colours, and they haven't chosen background colours to match, it's a (pretty funny) coincidence. The gamefaqs thing isn't about colour theory, it's literally just saying that the code mentions the last character's bg colour.

The color theory is about pass 2’s color backgrounds for the characters closely matching pass 1’s. The only color not matched from pass 1 is Hero’s, until now. Regardless of silly it is or how random it was for Nintendo to happen to pick similar colors for the characters across 2 passes, they still ended up doing it.

And yeah, the colour would look good on Nahobino, but it would look just as good on loads of other characters. Looking at the last few pages should make that obvious.

No character mentioned matches with the color as well as Nahobino does(and most of those characters are deconfirmed or have no chance in hell anyway) and Nahobino doesn’t match up with any other color. Literally everything lines up for Nahobino, this is not a coincidence. I can even tell you where he is going on the Smash Ultimate banner.

well it’s still a big IP, and they’ve added Spirits for much smaller games like River City Ransom and Trials of Mana. If you look at the stuff represented in Smash you can tell Sakurai’s a huge video game history buff and loves old stuff (color tv-game and sheriff assist, mr game & watch, rob & duck hunt in smash, all the retro Namco rep that came with Pac-Man) so one could assume he’d try to get a game as important as Space Invaders represented in some way

Sakurai doesn't choose the DLC Nintendo does. I find the idea of Nintendo pushing for Space Invaders pretty funny.

I've seen people do concepts for trailers for their most wanted impossible characters before, and this would literally be my favourite thing that could happen.

(This won't be very in-depth because I'm very lazy)

It isn't immediately obvious that it's a smash trailer, and is just a remastered version of this video up until the 1:52 mark (ignore the watermark):

Then the splash screen comes up as "TATSUYA SUOU FACES HIS PUNISHMENT"

Purple is the background so the opposite colors are what the artist will draw focus to so characters with bright green (cam) highlights on their equipment or standard uniform etc. Then adjacent to purple like blue or red are used to soften any visual highlights so eyes, earrings hair if it's flowy etc.

Also great call out on the gradient because this actually means green and yellow would be strong color choices.

But Tori´s only active role in the series was being an obstacle and not even a good obstacle (since she was been given the advantage and still lost).
-Always damsel in distress.
-Lost her only duel in 2 turns
-Upstaged by all the other girls in that series
-Doesnt hold any importance to any season

What intrigues me about the Dark Orchid is that it’s a very sharp and bright purple. A more mellow purple could match well with more variety of colors but purple this bright would just clash with anything adjacent to it

Of course, but the discussion is about which one is more useless and I would argue that breaking the main character is leagues ahead of the embarrasment of Tori´s impact to anything related to her series.

The website data being real has no correlation to your belief.

Completely different thing. We have a strong set of information that gives us something to chew on. What we don't have is an actual leak that pinpoints who it is. At least that I remember being posted here lately.

The problem with focusing hard on matching colors is that quite a few of the DLC fighters we've gotten have been assigned colors that they hardly have on them. Would anyone believe Pyra/Mythra would be light green? Kazuya has red gloves; that's about it. Terry was given blue for his blue jeans, and how many characters have blue pants? In Smash alone, I'm sure we have about ten or more.

Then you also have to consider to possibility of this character not having purple at all. For all we know, this character could be mostly blue or red, but they gave it purple to help it stand out from the other characters featuring those colors. Sephiroth was given "forest green", and even though the shade ended up being closer to black, that color doesn't match him at all. If we had found out about that color prior to his announcement, no one would've considered him.

And that's assuming all of this ends up meaning something in the future.

The purple background, at least for me, does nothing more than give people a valid excuse to grasp straws for literally any character. It doesn't narrow the pool of a possible next character whatsoever.

That said, it's obviously going to be Hat Kid.

You’re right, it wasn’t the right term.

Besides, I just checked Forest Green (Sepiroth’s color) and they used a different shade for Sepiroth than the color that shows up in Google. Now, I’m not a master of color but it might mean that the eventual dark orchid purple won’t be as bright as I suspected.
