It's Waluigi. I've been on this hill for over a year and I'm willing to die on it.

There are other characters besides Waluigi that use purple in their color scheme. That, and when you remember the banner colors for Incineroar and Pyra and Mythra use colors that aren't the dominant color in their respective color schemes ie Incineroar's scleras in its eyes and the crystal on Pyra and Mythra's torso, it basically means any character that involves purple in their color scheme in some way is our final fighter

Out of curiosity I decided to put Waluigi on the shade of purple suggested in the code to compare.

Doesn't match his purple exactly, but it's worth keeping in mind that the fighters' background colours have a gradient and, unless I'm colourblind, it doesn't seem like the actual colours in the revealed fighters' backgrounds match their named shades exactly, either.

Yes there is, but I've believed Waluigi would be CP11 pretty much since January 2020 and that belief hasn't gone away. This just makes me believe it more.

Don’t get my hopes up like that lol. I already feel like I’m doing that myself with the purple background for the Battletoads. Saying the character is likely to also be green is just too much.

But totally I'd say any animal that's green so the toads, turtles, heck even the alligator from pitfall would be awesome looking on a dark orchid background but!

Dark Orchid despite its name has a hue that betrays brightness so it's more likely especially in today's artistry going moodier and darker in the back that this is a template choice by reason of focus which is especially Great with Green.

But Tori´s only active role in the series was being an obstacle and not even a good obstacle (since she was been given the advantage and still lost).

Sakurai is in the game industry and Space Invaders is a very influential game. It shouldn't be a surprise that he's mentioned it before. Not every game Sakurai mentions is confirmed.

Color theory is correct, the final character will have a purple background. And Nahobino is literally the only character whose dominant color is directly adjacent to that exact shade(according to my iPhone).

Meaning it's a poor color choice... Like the link to the wheel is up there a bit click on that then select Nino's (gam) primary color. If it's near purple it's going to blend in too much, if it's blue the background should be Orange (heh) in other words...

Why would I be in denial? I want Nahobino (or any SMT rep) as the last character.

They haven't based the entire pass around colours, and they haven't chosen background colours to match, it's a (pretty funny) coincidence. The gamefaqs thing isn't about colour theory, it's literally just saying that the code mentions the last character's bg colour.

And yeah, the colour would look good on Nahobino, but it would look just as good on loads of other characters. Looking at the last few pages should make that obvious.

Please, stop. You're just setting yourself up for disappointment, and making speculation less fun for literally everybody else.

This "I am right, you are wrong" mentality is not right, especially since some of the posts you made on this, as well as your posts on when FP11 will happen are very flawed in logic. Plus, who said Nahobino was likely? Just because you think it is him doesn't mean it is him. It is still your opinion, nothing on a higher pedestal that makes it superior to the rest of us and our opinions.

On the purple thing, a lot of people have suggested some awesome characters, and some characters I’ve never heard of that may also be awesome.

I just don’t see it being waluigi. I get the hypesplosion he’d bring at this point but he’s an assist. And don’t get me wrong, if someone made a fangame where all the characters was every assist in ultimate that’s viable (sorry pong), you’d have a legit awesome game. But I don’t think it’ll happen for him or any other assist (Midna would look pretty good on a purple background too).

Rayman isn’t a bad call, King Boo would be pretty wild. I’d love either. I know someone suggested Toxel/Toxitricity as a joke but I’d take them.

I’ve wanted Vaati forever and there are rumors Nintendo plans to dust off capcom zelda but I still don’t see it happening.

But in my ideal world Sakurai just goes:

“Yo, Sakurai bias was real this entire time y’all, why you think Magnus never returned as an assist? He’s playable now. And the reason there’s no fighter pass 3 is I decided I am making Kid Icarus Uprising 2.

This is how Layton wins. Is on the 40 names leak, has a very unique moveset which would require time to make and his background can be purple, orange or brown so he fits with colour theory. This is how we win.

that’s true but the point i was making earlier in the thread is that despite its influence, anything owned by Taito feels weirdly “missing” in Ultimate, like if a Taito character weren’t coming you’d think they’d have some representation like a spirit event or something

well it’s still a big IP, and they’ve added Spirits for much smaller games like River City Ransom and Trials of Mana. If you look at the stuff represented in Smash you can tell Sakurai’s a huge video game history buff and loves old stuff (color tv-game and sheriff assist, mr game & watch, rob & duck hunt in smash, all the retro Namco rep that came with Pac-Man) so one could assume he’d try to get a game as important as Space Invaders represented in some way
