I do think there's a possibility that CP11 could be revealed first before CP10.

If they decide to Reveal both characters at E3, If CP11 is not set to come out sometime after the Direct and CP10 is the bigger character of the two, I could see CP11 being revealed first. It would also make sense for the bigger character to have the Last trailer in the lore, but they might have made them CP10 because reasons and such

With that being said, I do think that Both characters could release sometime in June or before. that might be a bit optimistic, but I Imagine they at least have made great progress on Both characters. CP10 is very likely already in presentable state and might be in the balancing stage (and probably already has Sakurai presents flimed)

If CP11 is going to be revealed first, I feel like CP10 could be another villain that is also behind the strings in World of Light and become the next major antagonist in WoL part 2/prequel. The next villain wouldn't have a spirit already in the base game like Sephiroth. The only villain who doesn't have a spirit which could play a big part in the Smash lore so far that comes to my mind is Porky Minch from MOTHER(His complete omission is one of the strangest things in the game). Making other people fight each other is kinda Porky's thing. I could think of a scenario when Sephiroth is about to release Supernova, but somehow a "ball" rolls toward him and it somehows locks him inside. Sephiroth tries to get out, but if only he knew that he's inside something that is "absolutely safe."

The series is pretty niche so I’m not really sure how likely it is. Ideally I would want Etna, Rozalin, or Valvatorez if we did get a character but I think Laharl is probably the most likely since he’s essentially the Marth of Disgaea.

I’m going to share an unpopular and controversial opinion...Unless there is another Fighter’s Pass in the works that we just don’t know about, I really don’t see Crash Bandicoot being one of the final two (potentially 3, if that one leak ends up being true.) That’s not the controversial part though...I don’t know if it’s just because I don’t have a huge attachment to the character or what, but when he is referred to as a gaming icon...I just don’t agree. I grew up in the 90’s too, when Crash was huge.

That’s fine with me. I’m not really opposed to Crash getting in and I think it would be kind of cool just for his history as PlayStation’s mascot and Mario’s rival but I have no real attachment to the character either. I would much rather have a Warcraft, Starcraft, or Diablo character from Activision/Blizzard even though that is also a very unpopular opinion.

Poor Diddy Kong. At least my two favorites are pretty high (Ganondorf and Sephiroth). I’m a little surprised to see Mewtwo that low. I think it’s one of the coolest characters.

I'm seriously considering passing too....but at the same time I don't think there's anything else near the summer worth playing, so I'll probably end up picking it up to give it a try. Chances are it'll be one of the rare $40 releases instead of standard new game price. Even then, I don't understand what made them think that 3D look was good. Sure, you wanted to change the style, I get it, but how could you look at it and not gag a little?

Ah, the time when kids / teens were ****ing stoked over getting a flip phone and send SMSes to each other. It's one of those things where it might seem completely banal to a lot of younger people now. Still, a lot of the appeal was that the phones themselves, and that's what Amazing Mirror (+ other media released at the time, such as Advent Children) tried to capitalize on.

If Amazing Mirror ever gets a future remake there's a decent chance that the phone functionality will be much more expanded upon. And honestly, that could be a very interesting thing to do.

Given that they're talked about a lot, and [EDIT] I'm trusting Ramen Tengoku when he says that Xenoblade 2 is popular to begin with, I could see them staying pretty popular.

• Several more technical characters are on the low end of the popularity scale. , and stand out, and all three of them are also on the lower half on Ultimategamedata's popularity scale. Although the three aren't as low on UGD's popularity metrics as here. Worth noting is that all three characters are way more used in competitive circles: Diddy was 23rd in PGStats' recently released Placement %, a far, far cry from dead last here.

• It doesn't look like Japan's competitive scene has a major impact on which characters casuals favor. Partly because there's probably a significant subset of casuals who don't give a **** about competitive games. Otherwise several characters like and would be higher here. Still, competitive players can signal boost a character's popularity because matches are being streamed and uploaded to sites like Youtube or in Japan's case Nico Nico. You wanna know why of all characters is 24th here? Part of the reason might be Zackray, a famous top-level player using him and Joker. Now, the primary reasons Joker and ROB are up there are probably that they're relatively simple to use and have some flashy yet easy to understand stuff, but the signal boost helps push them higher nevertheless.

Xenoblade is one of my favorite series ever. Xenoblade 2 was amazing even if I wasn’t a fan of everything about it (mostly the fan service and Tora/Poppy). My favorite character was Nia and she could have been really cool in Smash with Dromarch but that was never going to happen. Pyra and Mythra are cool too.

Yeah, the list pretty much reflects several things that were reported about Japan's playerbase. For example, almost all of the DLC picks from recent games are in the top 5... except for Min Min, who seems to be hated there.

Meanwhile, the third parties seem to almost be ranked according to how you'd see them in a tier list, with characters like , and close to the top, , and in the middle and and closer to the bottom. There are a few oddities here and there, like being closer to the top than the middle, but I'd wager these can be attributed to the games' specific popularity in Japan.
